Everything went great! The woman who took my call was very informative. I called late in the afternoon and she said I could get a quote the next morning. From past experience, my hopes where not very high but sure enough I got a call the next morning! I was given a very reasonable price and the job was started right away. I always go personally to check on jobs since my clients are usually long distance. The completed job looked great, passed inspection and made both the buyer and seller very happy.
Frank and Vimar were great. Frank came out to the property as scheduled on a Friday and provided a quote. We set up the appointment to have his crew come out the following Wednesday to perform the repairs. They showed up as scheduled and completed the work in one day and also cleaned up the job areas. The stucco looks great and they did an overall quality job on time and on budget.
Vimar did a wonderful job. We had a huge crack that ran across the entire back top of our home. They were very cordial and professional through the whole process. We would definitely recommend them to anyone who needed stucco replaced. The repair is flawless.

The crew did an excellent job stuccoing the entire house. The building was old and had irregular walls, old stucco, and bare walls. Vimar Stucco used lath on the entire structure, including covering the old stucco where others wanted to use a bonding agent (glue). They took their time and straightened the rough areas, did the columns, front of the deck and two out-buildings. The house looks like a new structure. Even our other contractors are amazed at how well it turned out. the price was less than other quotes we got. They even loaned us scaffolding before the job started so we could do some exterior work. They did a nice knock-down finish on the main house and matched the stucco finish on one of the older side buildings. I would gladly use them again. They are a small operation and can be difficult to contact, but they did reply to our calls and texts.
After reading the reviews on Angie's list, I decided to contact Franklyn of Vimar Stucco. I contacted Frankly and set an appointment for an estimate on May 1st, 2014. After having to call and remind him of our appointment the day before, Franklyn showed up the next day on time for the appointment. Both my husband and I found him to be very personable. We explained to Franklyn we had scheduled with another contractor for a reroofing job to be completed on May 15, 2014, and would like the stucco work to be done the following week. We also explained to him we planned on leaving for vacation on May 28th, and would like all work completed before we left. After reviewing the work we wanted done, Franklyn indicated he can start the job on May 21st, which should take three days. He agreed to email mail me an estimate with the scope of services, when he got home that night. One week later, I still did not receive the estimate. I called Franklyn, and asked if he wanted the job or not, he asked me why and I reminded him of the estimate he promised to emailed a week ago. He apologized, and promise to email me the estimate that night, which I did received.
That is when my frustration and stressed dealing with Franklyn began. On May 19th, two days before the scheduled start date, I called Vimar Stucco, the call was answered by Jenny who told me she was Franklyn's assistant; I told her I was calling to confirmed the start date of May 21st. Jenny told me she does not know anything about any work to be done on my house and would contact Franklyn and get back to me. She later called me back and told me they would start work on my home at 9:00am on May 22nd. I was a bit annoyed at the change of the starting date but did not make a big deal of it. On May 22nd, two worker showed up, that does not speak English, which made it almost impossible for me to communicate with them, certain prep worked needed to be done (cutting out rotten siding and replacing it with new wood), since the stucco was going over siding we had on the home. I called Franklyn, and expressed my displeasure of his absence on the first day of the job, he agreed to stop by later, which he did. At that time he told me his worker would lay down the protective paper and the lath today and tomorrow they would start the stucco. He also informed me that he already ordered the sand and stucco to get the work done on my home and should be delivered early tomorrow May 23rd. When nothing was delivered on May 23rd, and no worker showed up, I called Franklyn, he told me he ordered the stucco today (May 23rd), however, since Monday is Memorial Day, the stucco delivery would be on Tuesday, May 24th. I told Franklyn, he had three weeks to prepare for the work on my home, and it is not unreasonable for me to expect that he would of made arrangement to have all material delivered to get the work done on time.
On Tuesday, May 24th, no sand and stucco was delivered, and no call from Franklyn. That evening, I again initiated contact with Frankly very upset and frustrated. I told him no delivery was made of the sand and/or stucco. I told him I find his behavior very unprofessional, that it was and is his duty to call me of any changes not mines. He told me he was coming down with a cold, I reminded him he has an assistant, plus he is a business owner and even if he is coming down with the cold he could make a phone call to me. He told me the company scheduled to make the delivery opens 7:00 am the next morning and he would call them first thing in the morning and promised to call me back at that time. I never received that call from Franklyn. It was now one week since they started and stopped working on my home. It was also only a couple of days before our planned vacation. The sand and stucco was finally delivered on May 26th. I called and spoke to Franklyn's assistant and told her the sand and stucco was delivered. She told me the workers would be out there the next day May 27th at 9:00am to start the stucco work. The next day on May 27th, we found one worker sitting outside our house at 8:30am, my husband asked him for the other workers, he told us they should be here shortly. Two hours later he is stilling sitting in his car outside our home. My husband again asked him for the other workers, the worker told my husband they are trying to get a trailer to bring the concrete mixer and other supplies . At this time I beyond annoyed. I called and spoke to Franklyn's assistant, she repeated the same thing the worker told my husband. I told her they should have secured the trailer and what every needed to get the work done long before today. My husband and I went out to run an errand at or around 11:30am; we arrived back home at or around 12:00pm and found that two other worker arrived with the concrete mixer, however, they all was sitting relaxing in front of my home. I asked them what they were doing and they told me it was lunch time..lol.
I decided to send Frankly, and email documenting my experience hiring him and also informed them that tomorrow, May 28th, I am leaving for vacation and does not want any work being done on my house in my absence ( I also reminded her all of the delay was done by them) and I had constantly reminded her and Franklyn of my vacation planned during our communications. I followed up my email with a phone call. I spoke to his assistant and repeated the content of my email. She told me it was possible they can complete the job that same day. That did not happen!
Early the following morning (Saturday), we left for vacation. I asked my brother to check on the house later in the day ( by now my experience with Franklyn had be very cautious). My brother called later that evening and told me they were indeed at my home working in my absence. At that time my husband told me we are on vacation and there is nothing we can do about the work they have done in our absence, we should enjoy our vacation and deal with it when we get back home.
We returned home on June 8th, and found they had completed the stucco work, but left the outside of our home in a mess. The remaining sand and stucco was still sitting in our driveway, preventing us from moving one of our car out of the garage. The wood and remnants of the paper and lath that was used was still in our yard. Our guttering was removed and thrown around various areas of our yard. The bucket used to hand the worker the stucco mix was sitting in the middle of my rose garden, some of the lights in my garden was knocked out and laying around the garden.
I called and spoke to Franklyn's assistant, I explained the condition of my yard and told her there was some issues with the stucco work my husband would like to discuss with Franklyn; she told me that Franklyn was not aware of the condition my yard was left. I told her that meant he did not even bother to stop by my house to inspect the finishing product of his worker. She told me she is going to give him a call and would call me right back. She later called and schedule an appointment for Franklyn to stopped by on June 13th at 10:00am. Surprise, Surprise, he was a no show and did not bother to call. When I finally was able to reach him by phone he claimed he was not aware of any meeting with me. I was furious, I told him I made arrangement to have his workers mess cleaned up around the yard (including the removal of the sand and stucco sitting in my driveway). He told me he could use the stucco on other jobs and would send someone to pick up the stucco and the wood and the other materials left on my property. The next morning, one of his worker arrived and removed the stucco and tol

Vimar was very responsive when first contacted. They scheduled a time to provide an estimate within one week of the initial call. They appeared on time and provided a detailed explanation of the scope and price of the work that they were going to perform. Their bid was very competitve when compared to other stucco companies. They began the work within a few days of providing the bid. It took a full day to remove the stucco and the metal lath. After the stucco was removed on a Friday, they indicated that they would be back on Saturday to install the new stucco. When they left, they cleaned the job site so there was no mess. Unfortunately it rained on Saturday so they came back first thing Monday morning. The plastic replacement lath and stucco were installed professionally. They only removed portions of the stucco but feathered everything in so it is virtually impossible to see where the work was performed. They did a fantastic job and I would use them again.

Performed repairs and matched existing texture perfectly.
Gave a B on a couple of items because crew seemed slightly unprepared on first visit but responded right away after that with the necessary items and were very professional throughout the job.
Frank's workers were punctual, and very patient. They had some rain issues to work around and must have watched the weather report because they were back in action as soon as weather permitted. His people were very neat as well. I encouraged Frank to put out a sign while he worked because so many people were noticing the transformation. My home is a 1955 ranch in S. Tampa. There was one place where I was unclear about what I wanted and the area had to be reworked. Frank sent a man to my home to tweak the area until it was to my liking. He asked for no money down and didn't rush for final payment. Because I didn't have the initial quote available when I cut his check, I was unsure of the exact agreed amount. Two days later he called to say I overpaid him by $200.00. Seriously righteous guy. My boyfriend, who's in the road construction business, was very impressed with the attention to detail. Please don't hesitate to have Frank assess your job. You'll see for yourself what an honest, cool man he is. he's welcome to send people by my home to check out his work.
The job was completed in a reasonable time and the cost was not to bad. The workers were very clean and professional. I was happy with the job overall and will be hiring him for more work in the future. It is so hard to find dependable companies. I am glad I found them.
Looks great -- just what I'd hoped for. I was expecting Frank to come by for one last look before setting a date to start and the next thing I know his crew showed up instead and was hammering and drilling and stuccoing and gone in two days!
Very comfortable recommending VIMAR.
It went very well. I called Vimar and spoke to Franklyn Vicente. I told Franklyn about the work I needed and he was out the next day to provide an estimate. Franklyn was very polite, professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He explained in detail what would be done and told me that I'd receive a call from the office about scheduling the work. I received the call the following day. They were very busy that week, after seeing the quality of their work I understand why, so I had to wait a few days for the work to be done. The work was scheduled for 4/7/14 with the repairmen to arrive between 9 am and noon. Leo arrived about 8:45 am and started work at 9. It was a pleasure watching Leo work. He's been working with stucco for 10 years and it was obvious that he knew what he was doing. The house is concrete block with a stucco coating that was finished to look like brick. The sills are steel reinforced concrete with stucco coating also to look like brick. A small crack over time turned into a very large one and eventually a large portion of the sill fell off. I have accordion hurricane shutters so it's critical that the window sill be the correct size to allow the shutters to close. Before starting work Leo covered the area around the window and the hurricane shutters with plastic and tape to ensure that they would not be damaged. He removed all of the old stucco and concrete including the rusted reinforcing steel. He cleaned and edged the area before he started to apply the new material. He used a level throughout the process to ensure that the sill sloped down to carry the water away from the window and the wall. He finished the process by hand texturing the stucco and cutting borders to make the sill look like the rest of the brick facade. Leo cleaned up the entire work area. It was about a 4 to 5 hour process including drying time between steps. The finished sill matches the rest of the house perfectly. Leo is an artist. The entire experience with Vimar Stucco from first contact to work completion was a pleasure. If I need additional stucco work Vimar will be the folks doing it.
Job came out looking very good. Now it's better than it was when the house was built. He left his scaffolding an extra week for the painters to use which was very nice of Frank.

They removed old stucco that had been installed by the builder of the home in certain places on the front of the home. Then they started the process all over in that area that had been repaired, when they were finished the stucco looked brand new and blended in perfectly with the rest of the front of the home.

Frank from Vimar Stucco came out the same day I called to give an estimate. I called him the next day to schedule the work & it was arranged for the next week. They came out & removed the damaged stucco and found significant structual damage to some wooden support beams so he stopped his work & recommended a wood framing specialist. I had the wood frame person complete the wood replacement & then Frank's people came back promptly and finished their work which ended up being a larger job then originally estimated but Frank was very reasonable with the additional work found. Frank had no way to know up front that there would be significant wood damage underneath the stucco and was very fair. It should be noted that the person Frank recommended to complete the wood replacement (Alex Urena) also did such good work that I ended up using him to complete the exterior painting of my home and I could not be any happier. Companies like Vimar Stucco are the reason that paying for a subscription to Angies List is worth the money. I would definitely recommend this company & and would use them in the future.
