We are located in Bergen County , serving all of northern New Jersey . We specialize in full service kitchen and bath renovations as well as small installations and repairs. This remodel involved a small bathroom that was original to the house of approximately 80 years. Small renovations had been completed in prior years. This time a complete demolition and new bathroom was required. John's attention to detail, his artistry with tile, his responsiveness and suggestions as the project went along were truly inspired. He and Scott are consummate professionals. They were considerate in protecting the house and cleaned up every day. The project was completed in the time it was estimated to take. John and Scott were a pleasure to have in our home. I wish we had more renovations for them. Without reservation we heartily recommend Vitacco tile.

The question is being asked by here is How did it go? From my very first contact with John I wanted to meet him. He was energetic on the phone and set up and appointment to come down and take a look at our project . This was a project to say the least, we moved everything. We explained to John what we would like to accomplish and he and was very receptive to our ideas and pointed out some of the issue we might have right away and gave us possible options. He was very prompt in getting our quotes back to us and We decide to go with Vitacco Tile and we were not disappointed. From the first day of deomlition to last day of final touch up paint there was not a problem. Both John and Scott were on time everyday and worked with each other and on the project with great enthusiasm. Both them showed there passion for there job in there attention to the smallest detail. These guys hit the ball out of the park with this remodel and we could not be happier. I would 1000% recommending Vitacco Tile for anyones remodeling needs.

I had a leaky shower pan on the 2nd floor that was causing water damage on the first floor. John was very professional, explained how the process was going to work and performed the whole project flawlessly. Extremely happy with how the shower pan replacement went. You can't even tell there was a problem!

If you are looking for quality workmanship, attention to detail, punctuality and neatness then John Vitacco is your man. They showed up every day and made sure the mess was kept to a minimum. If an unexpected issue arose, John came up with a satisfactory solution. We have never dealt with a contractor who paid such attention to detail. Pride in workmanship is key with John and his crew. We recommend them highly.

Perfect. John identified the problem and fixed it beautifully. They cleaned-up after themselves and very meticulous. I used their recommended tile supplier, Fischer Tile in Hawthorne, they were able to supply me with the replacement tiles even though they do not normally stock or handle that company. Vitacco Tile was excellent. Would definitely use them again.

John laid out a detailed week by week schedule for remodeling my 100 year old bathroom which was very helpful for our planning. John brought ideas, knowledge and guidance that was important to us at the beginning. He was professional from start to end and completed on-schedule and on-budget. There was additional work that was unforeseen but John did not look to ‘nickel and dime’ the costs, nor complain about the extra time and labor to do the job right. He did what was best for the bathroom and for us. That was greatly appreciated. John and Scott are great people and work well together. Their attention to detail is second to none. I am a Creative Director so I am a tough customer when it comes to the smallest details. Every wall/floor of my 100 year old house is not plumb or square and they were able to make the bathroom look like brand new. John and Scott truly are craftsmen. I would definitely call John Vitacco for your next remodel, he has a customer in me for life.

"I had my second child around this time which led to schedule conflicts. The shower grout and caulk was cracked and mildewed everywhere. Only re-caulking shower perimeter produced little aesthetic value but put a stop to a worsening problem."

I would rate Vitacco Tile A+ to the 10th power. John and Scott took an old, run down, dismal bathroom and made it beautiful. John is a perfectionist so his tiling and Scott's cuts are spot on, the sheet rock and spackling just perfect. John is punctual, his price was reasonable and he didn't shy away when I told him that I wanted to lay the subway tile vertically. John has suppliers that he recommended- I didn't have to use them, but after looking around, I chose to use them for tile and my vanity top. John provided me with a detailed list of the supplies I needed so shopping was a breeze. John and Scott were very conscious of my wood floors and prepared the floors every morning,. I advised I am asthmatic so they did their best to prepare the house to keep the dust to a minimum. They even made sure that my cat didn't escape. The job proceeded along and would have been finished on time except for two issues inherent to a 1955 house. John was flexible enough in his schedule to give me time to have both of the issues repaired. I sincerely cannot say enough good things about John and Scott. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. I would trust John to GC any project in my house! See the pics below, they speak for themselves! Need I say more : )

The job started with demolition of old bathroom. John and Scott made sure all floors, closets and other areas were covered so as to keep my house clean. John explained what was being done each day so I knew what to expect. The job progressed on schedule, all inspections were passed 1st time. The finished product included double sinks, toilet and large new custom shower with seat. I'm thrilled with my new master bath.

John and his plumbing and electric subs did an excellent job. Based on the detail provided in his quote, the material list of items we were to supply including suggested suppliers to the daily discussions of what to expect the next day, the job was completed without any issues. Every possible effort was made to minimize/contain the effects of the demo and construction on the adjacent rooms of the house. I would recommend John Vitacco without hesitation.

John and Scott were great to work with and I would highly recommend. What I liked about John is that he performed most of the work himself (outside of plumbing and electrical) so it made easy to go over your needs day in and day out. You didn't have random subcontractors being relayed information, you just went to John. That was a big factor given this was our first large renovation project and it made it feel more personal. We started the project toward the end of June and with a pregnant wife and baby coming in early September (or earlier), I needed to make sure it was done carefully and completed in time. The project work was finished in early August (with the exception of shower doors which were contracted and installed after, and some final paperwork details to handle with the town). Throughout, John and Scott were as careful as could be, putting plastic on the floors and walls to minimize dust to the best of their ability. During the first month of the renovation, I wasn't sure if we were going to make it as the prep work was substantial. But John assured me once the tiles went up, it would come together and sure enough he was right. In the end, it came out beautifully (pics attached). John takes pride in his craft and it's evident in the output of the work. And he was reasonable - we came in on budget and any additional charges we discussed upfront so there were no surprises. We continually get compliments on our bathrooms and I'm happy with the way they came out. If you're looking at a bathroom renovation in the future, definitely give John a call. I would highly recommend.

John and Scott did an excellent job. Scott spent a day cleaning and re grouting the walls, John laid the tile floor and replaced the toilet. They were polite, on time and a pleasure to work with. I would use them again without hesitation.

John and Scott did an amazing job on our bathroom. They completely gutted the old bathroom down to the studs and rebuilt per my design. We contacted John in October and scheduled the start date for January. John came over a couple of times before work started so we could talk about what we wanted in the bathroom and discuss design/construction elements. He took measurements and gave us a worksheet listing the materials and dimensions of what we would need to purchase. I found that immensely helpful when shopping for tile, fixtures, etc. <br /> They were prompt, on time, professional. Communication was great. He always let me know when they were coming over. He answered lots of questions and brainstormed with us when we had some roadblocks. I added some unusual elements to the bathroom and we had many discussions as to exactly what we wanted/how we wanted it to look. I appreciated that he wanted to get it perfect for us! He really takes pride in his work. <br /> I also liked that it was just the two of them. It is rare to have a contractor that does the job himself. We didn't have random guys show up to the house to do the work. He subcontracts out for plumbing and electric (Massucci Electric - the electrician we use and love) and they did a great job as well. <br /> We had some delays, waiting for inspections, unexpected rerouting of plumbing (at my request), materials, a horribly uneven floor - but none of that was due to John's work. The job went longer than initially contracted but I would much rather the job take longer and be right than rushed and wrong. <br /> We are in love with our bathroom and immensely happy. We will definitely use Vitacco Tile when we are ready to redo our kitchen!

I was excited to install the material. This was a difficult project from beginning to end due to space constraints and state electrical, building regulations, and unexpected plumbing problems. John Vitacco worked with me to overcome all the problems, never shying away from a challenge. Once the project was finished, I had a halfbath/laundry room that exceeded all my expectations. It was everything I wanted and more - all thanks to John's perseverance. He was always on the job, directing and doing all the work. I highly recommend him and will use him again in the future. <br />

John had us at hello :-). The evening John came over for a quote, he showed up with booties in hand. He had just come from a job and knowing his boots were dirty with paint, he didn't want to drag that through our home. He slipped on his booties and we proceeded to look at the bathroom as well as other areas of the home that he would need access to. That small gesture showed his attention to detail and his respect for our home. A key factor when letting any stranger into your home for 3+ weeks. <br /> John is not a sales person but the owner of the company, the project manager, the tiler, and pretty much everything else in between. The only things he does not do are the electrical and plumbing as he sub-contracts them out. <br /> This proved to be a good thing as John is literally the first, second, and last person you deal with. You don't have to deal with a large company where you first meet with a sales person, then a scheduler, then the project manager, then the customer service rep, and so on. John is a one stop shop when it comes to the work and communication. <br /> When he submitted his proposal, he factored in everything that we discussed. In addition to a full bathroom gut, we needed our subfloor repaired, potential plumbing upgrades, and window replacements Again, attention to detail was present. because all of that was included in the proposal. We met with several contractors previously and not all of them included that in their proposal even though I asked them specifically to do so. <br /> His attention to detail carried throughout the entire duration of the job. He laid out tarp, put up dust barriers, and pretty much protected our home as best he could. This sounds like it should be expected but that was not the case for our previous bathroom renovation. <br /> Any home reno will lead to some disarray of your home, dust and dirt all over, and just stuff everywhere. John and Scott, the other contractor that was there everyday, were as clean and organized as can be. <br /> John was friendly and very approachable. He said hi to my 2 and a half year old son every time he saw him and his right-hand man Scott, did the same to our little dog. Not directly relevant to the job but it speaks volumes about them as individuals. <br /> Just to nitpick, there were some very very minor communication gaps but that was all overlooked because he did such a great job with everything else and did not try to nickel and dime us. He even came back after the job was done because we were unhappy with the location of one of our fixtures. He didn't hesitate to get the job done and he continued to keep our home clean. <br /> I would absolutely recommend and hire John again for my next big project!

All interior renovations are intrusive on the homeowners private space. I try my best every day to never lose sight of that. When contractors leave for the day, they get to go home to there clean homes. The clients are the ones that have to live through the construction environment. I try to alleviate this issue the best I can not just on day one. Aside from the craft which is actually the easy part, there is a whole other side to invasive renovations that get overlooked by a lot of tradesmen and contractors. Thank you for recognizing this. John and Scott are hard workers and very professional. They were prompt and cleaned up after their work for the day. My husband and I felt very comfortable leaving the key to our house when we couldn't be there to let them in or see them out. The plumber and electrician he contracted were also very professional. <br /> The results are great. John did a beautiful job on the tile. He pays attention to detail. A real artist! <br /> John was always in contact to be clear what was happening that day or if we had questions about what or where to purchase the things we needed for the bathroom. <br /> The dumpster (we needed for taking away all the refuse) left a slight divet in our driveway, but John said he would be back to patch it in the Spring. <br /> I would gladly recommend John and Scott to anyone. They are nice guys and completely trustworthy!

This is the second time that I've used Vitacco Tile and we can't say enough about them...We're in the midst of a kitchen & laundry room reno an needed someone who could straighten out our horribly uneven floors. The house is old (late 1800s) & needs alot of TLC, and the kitchen floors were sagging, water damaged in some areas. <br /> The project required removing the old subfloor (exposing the basement beneath) and putting down new plywood/cement board and thinset to even out the floors. Then, they installed the new tile throughout the two rooms. John & his assitant, Scot did a wonderful job, the area looks transformed! Especially in complex projects, it's so important to have someone who has the experience and appropriate skill level....Vitacco does excellent, quality work. They have a strong work ethic, punctual, very responsive and have a great sense of humor. I plan on using them again when we're ready to do another project! <br />
