Quick response. Was definitely an expert on garage door systems. Had to "rework" installation (wiring?) from the handyman to enable opener to work. Spent 1.5 hrs on all work involved. Door now works flawlessly, we are happy with overall job. <br /> <br /> 1 items to report that are not meant as negative, but as feedback. <br /> <br /> 1) Price for work was 1.4x cost of opener from Loews. Loews advertised $99 installation. I'm not sure what other work needed to be performed to make door work, so this wasn't outrageous to us. <br /> <br /> 1 item to highlight as excellent. <br /> <br /> 1) I had listed a suggestion that they program the car opener on my original Angie's List feedback. We were contacted immediately and the programming was done free of charge. To me it's not if a company is perfect, but how they handle feedback. Thank you! <br /> <br />

I had recently had Von Door and more out to replace the springs on my garage door, so when my in-law's called to tell me they heard a loud "bang" in their garage, and could no longer open their door, I knew immediately who to call. <br /> <br /> These guys are great, and even showed up early. Quality work, done professionally at a reasonable price, how can you beat that?

The day of the install the technicians arrived on time and ready to go. I have a detached garage so I went in the house shortly after they started without feeling the need to "watch them" although i am curious about how things work. They had all their tools and got right to work. I figured they'd take about 4 hours to do the work, but they completed everything in about 2.5 hours. When I went out to check on things they were ready to explain what to do to maintain the garage door, how to use the openers and wall switch in plain language. I inspected the work and was very pleased. They cleaned up all the debris completely! No stray parts and materials in site. So rare! And they were kind AND friendly! Keep up the good work guys!! <br /> <br />(AND, something that I try to find out is what materials contractors use and are they MADE IN THE USA. They are pretty adamant, it turns out, that they do, if at all possible. Their tools and the doors and I'm sure some other parts are MADE IN THE USA. <br /> <br />Overall this was a pleasant experience. I recommend them highly!

When I bought my house, the inspector said the springs were worn and could break at any time. The danger was not only that the door could fall and badly hurt someone, the springs themselves could act as a projectile and do a lot of damage. I e-mailed Von Door because of the coupon for replacing the springs. I got a response within an hour and a call the following morning. I called them the next day and they came out immediately and gave an estimate on the spot. They also gave me the option of having the work done right away. I'd gotten other estimates (from non-Angies List providers) and knew Von Door's estimate was more than fair. <br /> <br /> Instead of just replacing the four springs that there, which is no longer the commonly used configuration, they installed the right thing for my garage. They didn't try to up-sell. They took the time to tell me the options, give their recommendations, to show me what they'd done and to make sure I was satisfied with the work. <br /> <br /> I am very satisfied with the work, how well they cleaned up after and how responsive they were. My niece is going to have her garage door replaced soon and I will definitely recommend them...instead of the big box store we'd discussed going with.

One of my garage door springs broke as I was leaving in the morning. When I got back home a short while laster, I could not open the door. After seeing the problem, I called Von for an estimate. Someone answered right away and said they could fix the door that afternoon. They gave a price for replacing the spring but recommendaed replacing both springs on my door. I got a second estimate from another company but decided to go with Von. They came at the appointed time. They were quick, professonal and did a good job.

When one of my springs broke on my garage door, I decided it was finally time to give Angie's list a try and I was not disappointed. My first inclination was to try to do it myself, but after reading a very detailed article on what was involved, as well as watching a couple videos, I decided that this was a job for professionals. <br /> Now knowing what work was involved, as well as what it should cost to have a professional do it properly (2 springs replaced = appx $200) I started my search here. Von Door and More had a special going on for 2 springs replaced for $199, and the reviews seemed quite good, so I decided to give them a call. They did not disappoint. They scheduled the service quickly, performed all of the necessary work timely, and they were a pleasure to deal with. I was even told what maintenance was necessary to keep the door functioning properly. <br /> It was an all around great experience.

My house is on the market and was scheduled for a realtor open house, so of course my garage door decided to suddenly stop working! I also had a showing scheduled for two days later. So I needed my garage door fixed ASAP. I called Vons with the hopes of getting someone within a day or two. But when I spoke to Jim, he said not to worry, he was on a nearby job and would come to my house right after! He and Brian showed up within about a half hour and they were professional and friendly in spite of having to work in a hot garage on a very humid day. Jim pointed out that one of the springs was broken but that the other might last a few months more, but would probably need to be fixed fairly soon. I saw that they did have a special noted on Angie's List for $199 for replacing both springs so I decided to do that. There was no pressure for me to do both springs at all. They fixed it within about a half hour and everything was working perfectly for the open house. Jim also gave me an extra discount of $20, which I really appreciated. I would recommend this company highly for their promptness, professionalism, friendly and courteous attitudes, and for getting the job done well and done fast at a fair price. Every company should have people like Jim and Brian - they are both exceptional. I really appreciate the other great recommendations for Vons Door and More on Angie's List that steered me to a wonderful company in my hour of need! Note: I don't see an option on this page to give them a "Page of Happiness" but they deserve one for sure!

This was an outstanding contractor experience! <br /> <br /> We called Von's on Friday, and they were willing to come out that day. But since it was not a rush, we scheduled an appointment for Monday. <br /> <br /> They listened to our problem, and did not push us to purchase anything we did not need. They also gave us a good education on garage doors and openers. <br /> <br /> Von's was extremely professional, reliable and courteous. They are a family business, and take pride in their work. We may still install a new door and opener, and will absolutely use them if we go in that direction. <br /> <br /> I literally cannot recommend them enough!

we called on a Saturday and they came right out thtat same day to look at the problem we were having with the door and discuss our options for repair/replace. We decided o replace both doors and scheduled the appointment for that next week. Their work was very thorough. They made sure I was happy and showed me everything they had done. They were clean and respectful of our space and very friendly.

I am not a person who usually leaves comments online, but this is worth saying. I had a bad spring on the garage door,which I knew nothing about until I contacted Curt and Jim from Von Door And More.They came out and were at my house 45 minuets after we spoke.NOW THAT'S SERVICE! They explained what was happening replaced my springs and everything works perfectly. I have not heard my door run this good since it was new 8 years ago it is very quiet and runs smooth. I love the fact that they did not try to oversell me on anything. I think there price was a little high.But I am not complaining these guys are worth every penny.Just for the simple fact they do not try to take advantage of you on price or sell you something you might not need.. As I knew nothing of garage doors until Curt and Jim educated me.Von door And More is a company I want everyone to know about. Von door Installed A Quality garage door opener. I looked at home improvement places and I was very careful to check the different types of openers. A friend had highly recommended Von door and to my surprise they were on Angie's List how super is that.With Just a quick call Curt answered the phone he was very polite, knowledgeable and well spoken. He actually listened to my every concern and did not try to over sell me on anything a nice change of pace in the service world industry Curt had informed me that they could install my new opener the same day.Later that day Curt and Jim Showed up right on time. They were well dressed, neat and tidy and very courteous. They make you feel like a part of the family. The install was quick clean and efficient I was truly impressed. These two guys work great as a team they are a class act. They took the extra time to fully inform me of all my garage door needs. After reviewing a few contractors, I decided to contact Vondoor & More to help me out with a situation. I live with my mother in a townhome and she wakes up every time I come home late and open and close the garage door. The opener, although relatively new, seems to vibrate and rattle the house and my mother?s bedroom is right above the garage. Price is a factor here, but then again, so is my peace of mind. When I called Vondoor, Jim answered the phone, and was very polite and well-spoken. He listened to my needs and was very attentive. An hour later, Kurt and Jim showed up at my house to inform me of a deal they had going on ? 30 Days ? No Questions Asked ? You will simply love this garage door opener, or your money back guaranteed. But now reality hits. Jim explains to me it would cost $390 or $450 depending on the model. I was surprised at the price, so Jim asked me if I would like to come to his house to see it operate. I was hesitant, but interested. I went to his house and was amazed how quite and smooth it operated-no noise! OMG-this is just what I was looking for. Now price was not such a big issue. This has definitely brought me peace of mind. Two hours later, it was installed in my garage. My mother loves you Jim and Kurt and thank you so much for your hospitality. I was having an emergency in the Middle of the night not being able to open my garage door. Von Door and More offering a 24 hour service responded promptly. Curt and Jim were able to assess and fix the problem. As a result the next afternoon they came back to install a new door and opener since the garage is older and needed to be replaced. They were efficient, professional, kind and explained everything regarding the installation, programming warranty of the products used. At first I thought their prices were a bit high although it was worth every penny after all the expertise information Curt and Jim gave to me. I would highly recommend Von Door and More to my friends and family.
