I think he actually delivered the plans June, 1st. I wouldn't use them again. I would have liked them to have been more proactive. He basically just took my ideas and made the design and as a person that is not an expert in that field, I would have appreciated more of his expertise rather than him just taking my ideas and doing his design on them.

Mr. Westbrook was easy to get in touch with and was able to quickly understand my needs - he put together a proposal quickly and got started over the winter holidays. We had design meetings to go through the initial sketch and feedback was noted for refinement. The output was clean and to my expectations. I would use Wally Westbrook Designs again for future commercial projects. <br />

It went very well. Wally and I spoke on the phone where I explained to him what I was looking for. It was difficult to find someone who was willing to do some simple plans without all the permitting details. I explained to him how things were done in rural Vermont and he accommodated us. We spoke with Wally a number of times over the phone and worked with him interactively on his drafting program. We ultimately went to his home and spent a couple of hours talking thru the plans and making changes while discussing limitations etc. It was a very productive and helpful meeting. We ultimately came out of that meeting with a set of plans that were tweaked a little afterward and used for permitting. We have received the permit and will start in the next week or two. <br />

Wally was able to take our general ideas for a sun room & turn them into a quality work of art. His architectural knowledge & experience was extensive & his recommendations on hardware, materials of construction, best practices, etc. was impressive. We went through several revisions as our ideas evolved & Wally was always patient, available & very professional. His graphic systems allowed us to make revisions as we discussed the designs & see the results instantly in 3D views. The level of detail was such that we felt we were standing in the new room. Our Homeowner's Association indicated that it was among the best packages it had seen & approval was very quick. We would highly recommend Wally.

We met with Wally, showed him the very rough plans we had, discussed our ideas and the vision we had for the end result. He "got it". After a couple of meetings and revisions we had plans that encompassed our ideas with his design knowledge and expertise. It wasn't easy to take an existing structure that couldn't be changed and design a workable, functioning unique interior but Wally was able to do just that. <br /> We found him very open and easy to work with. His explanations of what would and wouldn't work were valuable knowledge for us. <br /> We would certainly work with Wally again and not hesitate to recommend him to anyone needing an architect/designer. <br />

<p>This is an update to our July 13, 2014 review of services provided, at which time Wally had designed and provided all required architectural drawings, 3-D views and plot plans required by our community HOA for approval .</p> <p>After a significant wait for final response from the HOA, the original covered patio plan for the placement and size and design we wanted, were denied. That brought major disappointment, delays and the need to go back to the drawing board. So back to Wally we went for help.</p> <p>Wally redesigned the structure to accommodate the space available and again prepared all the drawings, documents, plot plan and 3-D views required by the HOA, in a very timely manner. He provided this excellent service at NO cost. How grateful we are to Wally for his timely and generous assistance. The HOA has approved the revised project plan. A great service and result. We highly recommend Wally Westbrook</p> .

With both building and architectural experience, Wally Westbrook has an excellent understanding of what is needed to achieve the best, and very different, end results for personal homes and investment properties. (He has helped me with both.) I particularly like his ability to understand what a site warrants. For example, he advised that an investment property did not need the size addition I was contemplating to achieve the result I wanted. He looks for cost effective ways to add a "wow" factor to even the most basic house. As if those qualities are not enough to recommend Westbrook Design, Wally is also a pleasure to work with. I will definitely use his services again.

Wally showed up at my house on time and in great spirits. I wanted his expert opinion on some renovations we are going to be doing on a brand new home that is currently under construction. As a new resident of The Woodlands, I was getting some horror stories associated with contractors doing home improvements for residents and finding out it was not up to code and/or short cuts were taken and the final product will not last as long as it should have. I told Wally about the experiences my friends had gone thru and would appreciate his advice seeing that on Angie's list he was given some great reviews. He gave me his background and the history on how things in The Woodlands had started. As he spoke to me about past experiences and work that he has done, one thing ran true through out and that was his integrity and honesty. He provided me very sound advice on how he would go about doing the improvements and also some of the areas I need to watch out for. Really appreciated his time and expert opinion. <br />

<p>After finding his contact information on Angie's List and checking out his website, I contacted Mr. Westbrook by email on a Sunday afternoon and got a call from him the same day. We agreed that he would stop by my home to discuss a Master Suite addition the following Thursday evening, which was the first time I was available. </p> <p>I am a former custom home builder and had a good idea about what I wanted, but I was looking for someone who had both the design and building skills to complete the project to my demanding standards. When Mr. Westbrook arrived precisely on time in the pouring rain, I quickly realized that he knew exactly what he was talking about and his personality was perfect for the job. Within about 5 minutes, Mr. Westbrook became Wally and I felt as if I had known him for years.</p> <p>Several times over the next few days, we exchanged sketches of the proposed project and I was extremely pleased with the results. With just a builder's sketch of my existing floor plan, dimensions from an appraisal and a few photographs that Wally took during our initial meeting, he was quickly able to create a 3 dimensional plan and elevation of my existing home which he used to design the new addition.</p> <p>The scope of work included a major expansion of the covered porch and Master Bedroom, adding an adjacent 15' X 15' sitting room and adding a new pool bath. Within just a few days, Wally submitted the preliminary design which was exactly what I had envisioned. His plan matched the current design perfectly, and complemented the existing roof plan very well--which proved his expertise in both design and construction. </p> <p>After integrating a few ideas that I had provided and making some revisions that he had suggested, Wally prepared the final plans and elevations for the HOA and permit review. From the first visit to the final review, it was obvious to me that Wally had the necessary skill set and commitment to do the job well and to meet my specific expectations. It is rare to find someone these days who is so committed to his work, but Wally exceeded even my expectations. Overall, it was a real pleasure to do business with him, and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone who is considering a major addition to their home.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /></p> <br />

We first met with Wally in April of 2014 and submitted our plans to the city for an in-law suite in Oak Ridge North. They rejected us twice but Wally continued to work with us to meet all of their requirements and refused to give us an invoice for the additional work. But we opted to pay him anyway. He spent more time getting the final requirements completed on the 3rd round than he did on the first and second round put together! . Wally was very responsive and provided everything needed to get it all approved. Wally is very reasonably priced and very reliable and responsive. He has a great tool that he used for online meetings where we could watch him tweak the design. If we ever have another need for an architect, Wally is our guy! <br />

Our relationship started out as Mr. Westbrook and quickly escalated to "Wally". This guy is so friendly, attentive and get this actually listens to your ideas. I have dealt with other building designers in the past and they have "their" agenda and "their" designs and they want to show you just how smart they are. Wally listens to what you want, designs it and then tells you why or why not something works or doesn't work. The guy is great and you get your building but designed properly. What you might think sounds like a great idea could be a future disaster. He walks you through the minefield of building design. His design for our school and residence was first class. I would recommend him most highly to anyone interested in having a real professional with years of not only designs skills but also hands on building experience. He is the perfect combination of both. <br />

Wally was terrific. Responsive, patient, with good ideas. We wanted to use someone for our design who was not going to perform the actual remodel work so that we could get honest assessments of our ideas. Wally's prior building experience came in handy as we asked him questions about the feasibility of our ideas and relative costs. I would recommend him as a good place to start your remodel efforts. He will come out to your home and talk to you about what you want generally. Then he give you a price. Next he will take measurements and photos. Then he goes to work on your design. He consults with you along the way, using a computer program where you are online at the same time he is, That allows you to see his drawings, talk about changes, modifications, etc. At that time, he can make many of those changes or at least notes about them, while you watch. When you are satisfied that he has drawn what you want your remodel to look like, he will deliver the final product. His ability to show you a 3-D image do what he has drawn is very helpful in deciding if you like how it is going to look. You will have several copies of blueprints to give to a contractor who wants to bid on the project. Definitely worth the money. <br />

He asked for a two week turn around, but delivered the finished product in 10 days. We had 2 in person meetings and 2 online meetings to review the layout, dimensions, lighting, etc. and we were very impressed with his work and the online tool used to complete the drawings. We plan to submit to the city for approval as soon as we receive the foundation engineer's stamp - separate from Westbrook Designs. <br /> Wally was very professional, puncutual and extremely responsive. I highly recommend his services for architectural design and drawings! <br />

Wally was very helpful, prompt, professional, and courteous. <br /> I have been actively involved in real estate development and management for more than 20 years, working on small and large subdivisions, class A buildings, commercial centers, and even cell towers, so I know the difference between people who understand their business and and those who do not...and Wally definitely understands his business! <br /> In this case we wanted to add an upstairs bathroom and a catwalk to connect two upstairs walkways, and Wally did a great job - from start to finish it required less than 10 days. <br /> Immediately, upon my receipt of the finished plans, I met with the city plan checker and was told the plans were fine and that we could pick up the permit in a few days. <br /> In conclusion, I would definitely recommend Wally to anyone in need of design work and will be using Wally again on our next spec home. <br /> <br /> <br />

Wally is great. He does excellent work, and encourages client participation in the design development. He listens to ideas, and points out the potential hang-ups, including where vision might be bigger than budget. His price is very fair, and he's keenly interested in handing over a finished product you not only can build, but want to build. The 3D rendering and online teamwork really helps the client see where the aesthetics will and won't work with the structure. (It's also quite fun!) I have received a comprehensive file from Westbrook Designs detailing all of the specifics for my new kitchen, including the electrical layout for lights, outlets, etc. This file was also forwarded to the contractor bidding on my job. We are currently negotiating for the kitchen remodeling job to begin. I feel sure that when all of Wally's plans are implemented that I will have the kitchen of my dreams. <br /> I would absolutely use his design services for any future work that I might have done to my home. <br />

Wally is so great to work with. He is very responsive....which is super important. We discussed our wants, our must haves, budget, etc. We had many meetings to work on the floor plan. He would make the changes right in front of me, so I knew right away if I liked it or not. He is very knowledgeable about the building process, so he was able to give me input about making changes or additions that would reflect the budget. He also uses a 3d program that allows you to see the house (in and out), in real time view. I highly recommend Wally.

Everything turned out beautifully and it was largely because of the excellent design work done by Wally. He uses a 3D design program, which allows one to see exactly what the finish product will look like, showing in detail phases of the design project. There was no guess work on how the finish work would look because you saw it as a finish product on his 3D design program and could adjust the design to meet your expectations. It was truly wonderful to see what we dreamed of come to life and we owe that enlarge to the excellent design work of Wallace (Wally E Westbrook). We highly recommend Wally for any design work you maybe contemplating whether it is a new home or a remodel design. Wally was wonderful to work with and upheld the highest of standards helping us to avoid remodeling mistakes.
