I was told that old adhesive would be removed from the concrete subfloor. After 4 hours of manual removal, about 30 square feet were finished. Then a improperly mixed thin set was applied to the to bathroom floor. Once it dried, it was rocky and didn’t cure well. I was waiting for the contractors to arrive at 7:30 am the following morning. At 8:00 am I reached out to see the eta. I was told another job had an emergency issue. I politely told him that I wanted to terminate the contract as I was not confident in the ability to do the job. I paid a $600 of which I was told I would get $300 back. If he thinks he did $300 of work, so be it. I was old the refund would come back via Zelle or Cash App. I sent me information, but I haven’t heard anything. I’m more disappointed because I was asked to be a reference for a job he completed previously. It was a floor removal. I thought I was being a good patron and customer, but now I’m being ignored. I have since removed my positive review from Yelp and was compelled to update my Angie’s List review. I want my refund, and I’m disappointed I’m being mistreated after being nice and polite.
