Water Recon Home Improvement

On May28, 2021 I hired water recon to waterproof my crawl space. I wrote a check for a little over half of the 5,000 price. The check was for $2800. On 5-31-21 I was told my job would start on 6-17-21. On 6-28-21 Anthony told me he had 3 emergencies on other basements and he would call me after the 4th of July. On 7-6-21 I left a message on his machine that I needed to be put on his schedule. On 7-7-21 I called Anthony and he said he was on his way home from Cleveland and he had me scheduled but he would call me later because he couldn’t remember when. On 7-8-21 I called again and he said he called me the night before but I have an iPhone and I had no missed calls. He said he would call me on the 14th to let me know if he can do my job on 7-23, 24, 25-21. 7-14-21 I called again to see if he was doing my job on the 23, 24, and 25th. He said he was with a client he would call me back but he never did. 7-15-21 I went to the address on the bill of sale but it was a house on a street. I call the office number and told him I was on my way to the police station to fill a report against him. I did that. He called later that day and he was very angry. I told him he was committing fraud and he said he was not. Once again he said he would call to let me know if the job would be done on 7-23, 34, 25-21. I said ok. I also contacted the Ohio Attorney General and Anthony called me on 7-19-21. He was upset that they contacted him and he said if he could get the material he would do my job Aug. 7, 8, 9th. If not he said he would give my money back. 8-1-21 Anthony called me and finally told me the truth, he said he had only one worker and he had been trying to hire more but he can’t find anyone. He also is unable to get the material. There is no one to drive it from New York. He said he would ask his accountant how to refund my money. I’m still nervous that he will go out of business and not give me my money. I hired him because he was recommended from your app. And I am upset that you would recommend someone dishonest.
