Established in 1963 in Knoxville, TN by Ernie Miller, Weather Tamer has been a pioneer in the home remodeling community for over 50 years. Weather Tamer opened its doors in Johnson City, TN in 1987 under Mike Howerton who is now the owner of the Johnson City Branch, and the company has thrived for 25 years and counting serving East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, and Western North Carolina. We specialize in replacement windows, metal and shingle roofing, vinyl siding, and sunrooms Our level of success is derived from our key operating principles from the top down in the company. We strive to treat every home we work on like it is our very own. From the time one of our represenatives comes out to quote a job till the installation and clean up is complete, our employees provide great attention to detail and excellent customer service to make sure your project goes as smooth as possible. In 2020 I replaced my roof with a metal roof. Weather tamer quoted the job and performed the work. All was fine the. Now 2 years later I have a leak and cannot get anyone there to call me back. I have spoke to a person on the phone that said they would look into it, never received a call back. I’ve left 2-4 voicemails, no call backs. I’ve also emailed them, also no call back or response. Stay away if you want service after the fact or warranty!

The Weather Tamer team did an outstanding job replacing my roof and railings due to wind damage. Michael quoted the job and followed up regularly on the progress, Luther led the roofing team that worked hard, did an excellent job in difficult conditions and were very friendly, and I'm sorry that I don't remember the name of the railing team that also worked hard, did excellent work and were very friendly. Both teams were very conscientious of clean-up and left my property in great condition. I plan to do some additional railing and deck work and will hire Weather Tamer to do the work. I am extremely satisfied and would recommend Weather Tamer to friends. In addition, the cost was less than the insurance estimate.

THESE GUYS ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST. They arrived promptly when they were supposed to. The job was completed in less than a day. They cleaned up every tiny piece of scrap removed all the debris. They were extermely professional and would recommend them for any work.

When I first contacted Weather Tamer, I was greeted in a very friendly matter that was present the entire time of the job. The crew who showed up to do the work showed up when they said they would, and not only did they do a great job replacing my parents roof, they cleaned up so well you'd never known they were there. Fairly priced company who cares about their customers. Made my parents very happy with their new roof. Very highly recommend them! <br>

Better than expected. My husband and I have a vacation home in east TN. A friend who had previously had a roof completed by Weather Tamer referred us. We were in a hurry to travel back home and get everything settled so Mr. Howerton came out quickly and gave us an estimate on the spot. He was not only very professional, he was extremely nice. We discussed the time frame and he answered all of our questions. When the crews started on the roof we were very happy to see they cleaned up all the supplies and materials each day! The windows and siding make the old house look brand new. We are so pleased with the service and professionalism of this company! I highly recommend Weather Tamer to anyone in the area.

They did a less than 'F' job to begin with. Then they came back and fixed some of it. But it's still not done properly. I got the wrong crew. It took them a year to finally fix the whole thing. They were not good. They were terrible. When you've got an L-shaped roof, you've got corners there with gutters going down between them. The guy who did the roof didn't extend those channels past the edge of the roof for the water to go in the gutter. The water went behind the gutter and ran down my fascia board. It took them a year to finally fix that. It was terrible. They were horrible.

It should be noted [Member name removed] raved about our punctuality and professionalism for responding to his issue and getting it taken care of. We have not heard a word from [Member name removed] since we fixed his issue nearly two years ago till this review and have not been notified of any other further problems."

Very professional company. <br /> Mike came and quoted in timely fashion, scheduled a date and the installation started on time. <br /> The work is excellent and the job looks great. It took about two week including some weather delays. <br /> This was a smaller rental house that is 1950 built. There was a lot of water damage behind the chimneys. This was removed and new wood installed. The back room had completely rotted away at the bottom from termite damage, they had to jack up the back of the house to insert new supports. <br /> The front porch was also very sorry and falling down. It too had to be jacked up and new posts installed. <br /> <br /> <br />

MIke came out and gave us an estimate in December. He was comparable with other quotes we received, but we were impressed with his work ethic and the quality of materials he uses. Due to a harsh winter, they were not able to install the new roof until March. I talked to Mike on Thursday, March, 3rd, and they were on the job on Monday, March 7th. The job was complete by Thursday, March 10th. Everyday all old materials were cleaned up; there was nothing left lying around in the yard. The foreman and all employees on the job were very hard working, and punctual. They did an excellent job and we are extremely pleased with their work. They also replaced the roof on our storage building and replaced some rotten boards and they stated they would do in the contract. We paid 1/3 down in December, and the remaining balance when the job was complete. I would definitely use their service in the future and would highly recommend them to anyone needed a roof replacement.

Weather Tamer came out and looked around in the attic. He found that the roof was not leaking, but there may have been a leak in the past that has since been repaired. He said that most likely, the previous home owners didn't tape the drywall properly when they repaired the previous damage, so that's why the ceiling was cracking on the seam. Didn't charge me a dime to come out and take a look. He was very professional and friendly. Will definitely call them again if the roof ever develops a real problem. <br />
