Richard and Anna did a great job with our gut job kitchen remodeling. They tore it down to the studs and built it all back up with excellent plans, schedule, management of subcontractors, countertops and custom cabinets. The project stayed on and met the twelve-week schedule they laid out. The Cambria countertop measurements, production and installation took at least three to four weeks of that timeline and that could only happen AFTER the cabinets were installed, so their part actually went pretty fast. They took the time to make the cabinets fit our older house's kitchen measurements/eccentricities and supplies/appliances that we used.

Everything went amazing with West End, things were completed quickly and very professionally. Did not have to do any work on my end, they were always on top of all of the different contracts coming in. When planning they were responsive to changes or edits we had. Very easy to work with!

From the planning/design stage to the finished product, the kitchen remodel by West End Kitchens went smoothly. We especially appreciated the quality and professionalism of the cabinetry, electrical and other other subcontractors. Anna from West End Kitchens guided us through all phases of the project even accommodating last minute changes we made without the least bit of hesitation. We never felt inconvenienced or unexpectedly charged for anything.

Initially I was thrilled with the 2018 work that West End did in the kitchen, family room, MBR bath, and furst floor powder room. There were a few glitches that I discovered within the first year, but Richard was very responsive in getting them fixed. But three years later I discovered that the the seat in my MBR shower had been installed improperly. The installer had failed to caulk it properly, and this caused water to seep in where the bench met the shower wall and around the sides of the bench. The seat of the bench had begun to separate from the frame and water had gotten inside the bench frame. For two weeks I could not reach Richard, so I gave up and found another tile specialist to come out to do the repairs and paid for them myself. It cost me $600.00, and that was a bargain, as I had used him for another project and I am certain that he took pity on me. Because of the high demand for tile work, I was without the use of my MBR shower for over six weeks. When I finally heard from Richard he promised to reimburse me, but that was over three months ago. I have called and emailed him three times since, and he promises to pay but I have yet to be reimbursed. Very disappointed. Buyer beware!

They did an outstanding work, they were very easy to work with, professional, listened to what I wanted, accommodated changes on the work. The work they did was wonderful and incredible! I would definitely recommend them. I was more than satisfied with the work that they did.

We love our newly remodeled kitchen! After getting 2 other quotes, I was thrilled to find West End Kitchen, Inc. on Angie's List. Richard, the owner, was wonderful to work with. He was very open to listening to what we wanted in our new kitchen and respectful of our budget. Throughout the planning process Richard made many detailed plans until everything was just right. He was also very helpful and patient in the selection of cabinets and countertops. Once the project was set to begin Richard prepared a detailed calendar showing when various stages of the remodel would take place....and he was able to stick to it! Richard's crew was very professional and friendly. They always explained what they were going to be doing and answered my many questions. Richard dropped by frequently to check on the progress. When the project was done we couldn't believe the transformation. We absolutely love our new kitchen and would highly recommend West End Kitchen to anyone looking for a top-notch contractor!

I think it went pretty well. It took a few months but we did get custom cabinets. He's incredibly accurate, and detail oriented. The people he contracts with is very high end. It wasn't cheap, but I think if I tried for cheaper it wouldn't be the quality it's turned out to be. He did an outstanding job. He didn't always respond back to us immediately, but he always rectified out concerns within a timely manner (to be fair we had a lot of requests). We kept adding things to the project and changed our minds. This is an older house, it needed some work, and he was the only kitchen designer that was willing to come out and do and analysis. And he went in and helped us with our bathroom after our previous contractor ducked out. I would recommend them.

They were wonderful. Great experience for us. They were very interested in what we wanted, and what our ideas were. They are very good at picking and managing sub contractors. I would recommend them.

I'm a repeat customer. The work was to complete the kitchen renovation we started in 2012. The workers were professional arrived on time and completed the work on schedule. Since I decided to do our floors, they allowed me enough time to get the floors installed prior to them finishing off the details in the kitchen. Given 2 years of living in the kitchen since our work was complete, I think I would have had them do more work (e.g. painting the kitchen) instead of committing my own time to doing the work.

This is the second time we have used West End. They remodeled our kitchen a few years ago and we were very impressed by the quality and outcome. Richard, the owner, is very low key but a perfectionist in everything. The people who work with him are excellent, professional and friendly. Richard gives you a timeline of work to be done and they pretty much stick to it. The outcome was great. Everything looks beautiful and fresh. We did not hesitate to call West End for this work and would highly recommend them to everyone

It was a very big project in a small area and took 2 months to complete. However, Richard is very good at planning and organizing so things went smoothly.

We had three bids for this job and West End Kitchen Inc. came in in the middle price wise. What we liked about West End besides all of the favorable reviews was Richards {owner} very detailed way of working. He measured everything in the bathroom, then made up a very detailed plan for the new bathroom {you pay for this plan in advance}. What this did for us was, we could get a very good idea of the finished project, and also there would not be any surprises when it was done. And it makes it easy for Richard to have good control over the project. Richard provided us with a timetable calendar so we knew what was happening when and how long the project would take.  Richard has an office in St. Paul that is full of mock ups for choosing cabinets, plumbing, surfaces and hardware. We wanted to use porcelain tiles in our project and he recommended  Minnesota Tile, which we did use and were very happy with selection, price and the knowledgeable staff.  Before the project began Richard was out to cover the flooring from the front door to the rooms past the bathroom and also some wood work. Nothing was forgotten, this project went very well and on time.  Andy was the guy that did the majority of the work, from demolition to his beautiful tile work, no short cuts were takin. Andy was punctual, polite and always able to discuss any concerns we had. We soon learned that Andy and Richard were true professionals and relaxed and let them do there jobs. This project took three weeks to complete and using West End Kitchen Inc. made the whole project as easy going as possible for us, Richard even found a way to save us some money on our vanity top by using a remnant piece that was very close to our original choice, how many contractors would do that.          The work that was done was a complete tear out of old fiberglass shower, flooring, vanity, toilet, half of the sheetrock and bath fan.    New shower drain and lined cement shower base, densshield, and new sheetrock, new shower fixture, porcelain tiles on shower floor and walls and on room floor, new vanity, faucet, quartz top, new Toto toilet, new mirror, new Panasonic bath fan, installed new shower door we had bought, did a knock down on the ceiling and painted, and new trim around the door. We did the painting of the walls and Richard allowed us time for that.  We highly recommend West End Kitchen Inc. <br />

It went amazing. I can't say enough good things about Richard and his crew. They were all professional, timely and did excellent work. But let's get into the details. <br /> <strong> Plans:</strong> <br /> Richard started off by visiting our house and talking with us about the project. He measured and then made meticulous plans. For the planning you make a deposit around $400 for his efforts, which is applied to the job should you use him. That was worth every penny. He has a lot of expertise with kitchens and gave us valuable insight. He presented to use several versions and then when we picked a direction we liked, we kept fine tuning until we had a final plan (think plan 8 was the winner!). He got creative and was able to customize the cabinets into fit a few challenging spaces. Richard is very thorough, so that's why it takes a little time up front. Once the plan is set, it was very accurate. Communication and planning were definitely a 2-way street. He would listen to us, work with our budget and make adjustments accordingly. For our part we asked for certain things that meant a lot to us, and trusted his judgement in other areas. In hindsight, that was a good strategy.  <br /> <strong> Budgeting:</strong> <br /> Initially, our eyes were bigger than our budget. So after we first asked for all the bells and whistles, Richard worked with us to trim back to a place that worked for us. I found his prices very fair. When I examined doing some things myself (like upgrading to LED lights), I realized his prices were not much more than if I were doing it myself.  <br /> <strong>Timing:</strong> <br /> Once you sign the contract you get locked into Richard's calendar (truly his specialty). He provided an accurate timeline with clear goals of the stuff I had to do (demo, etc) and when his team was doing stuff. It was incredibly accurate and helpful. We finished within a day of when he said we would. We did a full remodel and it took 7 weeks. <br /> <strong> Products/Materials:</strong> <br /> Richard uses excellent materials like Chrystal Cabinets and Cambria Countertops. We got all-plywood cherry cabinets from Chrystal. They were pretty expensive but they look incredible. Richard really knows Chrystal and knows how to work with them. They even made a custom microwave cabinet to match the other cabinets. The quality is way better than we encountered from even the high-end cabinets at the big box stores. The faucet and sink he recommended is excellent quality too at a fair price. Cambria was too expensive for our budget, but we found a more affordable quartz option.  <br /> <strong> Construction Process:</strong> <br /> Richard used a small team of skilled subs. Flooring, cabinets and trim were installed by Steve. He's a craftsman who really does a great job (and is a great guy too). He even made special cuts to make the flooring fit snugly around a very uneven/rough brick fireplace. After the floors were in, Richard put sheets of melamine over the flooring to protect it (they remained until the job was done). Plumbing and electrical were done different subs who also did great work. Richard recommended a countertop fabricator who did beautiful work.  <br /> <strong>End Result/Final Thoughts:</strong> <br /> Everything turned out incredibly well. I've had some bad experiences in the past, and this all turned out amazing. We're thrilled with our new kitchen. The team was great to work with. We felt like they all cared and were respectful of my home. And as a bonus, they were very friendly and nice to be around. If you are considering West End we'd offer this: Richard uses a small, reliable team and is very hands on, detailed oriented and professional. He's a busy guy too, so you will have to be patient to get on his schedule. Take your time and do it right with Richard. It's totally worth it.  <br /> <br /> <br />

Took some time for work to begin, but they were the only ones able to call us back in a timely manner (we were on a waiting list for most contractors). They started working with us right away and let us do many many revisions of the design. We have an old chimney for a furnace that is no longer there that makes things difficult, but they were able to work around it.  <br /> As far as cost, several other contractors, including an IKEA based one, gave us a minimum of $50,000 with no upgrades, additional features and not including appliances. West End did this with a cabinet upgrade, quartz countertop, and higher end items. We saved some money by purchasing appliances at Home Depot during Black Friday sales and the sink and faucet at CostCo. West End was able to work with these with no issues.  <br /> For the kitchen we installed a new small wall for the refrigerator to sit against, and a peninsula that overhangs to allow extra counter space and seating area. West End helped us be involved in all the decisions, such as light switches and which sink to put the garbage disposal in. They were able to work with us for scheduling since we had a different contractor do the flooring. <br />

<p>Richard's expertise was invaluable. His experience and knowledge of the scope of the job was incredible and we were 100% comfortable with Richard's suggestions.  Richard is also a great listener - he understood exactly what we wanted to accomplish and he guided us in reaching our goal.  He is a master scheduler and organizer.  There were never any major issues, problems or delays - the job was completed right on schedule.  Richard also uses an impressive team of experts.  Every tradesman from the carpenters to the plumber, electrician and painter were all experts in their respective fields.  </p> <p>We are so happy with our newly remodeled condo and we wholeheartedly recommend West End Kitchen.  Thanks for a great job, Richard and crew!<br /> <br /> </p>

I had my kitchen remodeled over 15 years ago and the workmanship and planning was impeccable. The work they did looks as good today as it did when they finished the remodel.

<p>We met with a few kitchen remodelers and went with West End Kitchen for two main reasons - the price was around what we were expecting for this type of job, and equally as important, Trevor seemed to share the same vision for how the final product would look.  What we got from Trevor was not only a fantastic finished product, but the professional insight to share with us options that we did not know were available.  The complete details of the remodel are:</p> <p>Removed wall between dining room and kitchen</p> <p>Installed new granite countertops with raised breakfast bar and new sink</p> <p>Installed new tile backsplash</p> <p>Installed new tile floor</p> <p>Installed all 5 appliances (fridge, microwave, hood, dishwasher and oven)</p> <p>Removed one of two windows, replaced with new, custom cabinet.  The windows were originally connected, Trevor did a great job in reducing it to one window; you'd never know a second one was originally there</p> <p>Installed under cabinet lights, ceiling light, and pendant lights</p> <p>The cost of $20,808 included everything but the following:</p> <p>The cost of the appliances </p> <p>The cost of the ceiling and pendant lights</p> <p>The cost of the new hardware on the existing cabinets</p> <p>We kept our existing cabinets, but had new cabinets added (as noted above).  Trevor did a lot of work in re-fitting some of the existing cabinets, moving one from the now torn down wall to a different spot.  Our fridge was also too tall for the existing spot, he was able to raise the cabinet a few inches and it looks great</p> <p>The sink, floor and backsplash tile, and under-cabinet lights were included in the $20,808</p> <p>Our estimate before any project work was $20,808, so despite having a few unexpected surprises, the final cost was exactly what we were quoted at to start.  <br /> <br /></p>
