Western PA Slate Roofing is dedicated to traditional craftsmanship and the preservation of the slate roofs of the Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio region. Properly maintained a slate roof can last 150 years and beyond and is much more environmentally - friendly than asphalt or fiberglass shingles. Slate also adds aesthetic beauty to homes and neighborhoods because every roof is "one of kind". Often times people mistakenly replace their slate roofs when a repair would cost less than $1000, so before you give up on your slate roof, give us a call. If your roof is at the end of its functional life, we won't ask you to waste your money. We do our best to match the slate on your roof and use excellent quality recycled/salvaged slate from old houses and barns. Mike was honest about the state of our roof - estimate was free and he told us that we'd only get 3-5 more years more out of the one side of the roof, even with maintenance. I found that very honest of him, because saying that opened up the possibility that we'd forgo the repair and replace the whole roof instead. Unfortunately that was not an option for us so we opted for the repair. After he came out, the leak was fixed. And now we know we have to save up for a new roof ASAP.

Western Pa. slate arrived and offered to assist, on the spot, with my problem. This was enormously helpful, as the roof had been leaking and more bad weather is forecast, and winter is around the corner. I was very pleased with this, and would be quite comfortable hiring them for a larger job. I would give them an A+, if possible!

Mike came out and inspected the roof. He sent me an estimate and kept in close contact. They were able to do the job earlier in the month than expected. The work was quickly and professionally done, and when Mike received my check he emailed me to give me an overview of the state of my roof and possible work to be done in the future. It was a pleasure to work with him.

ALL of the employees at West. PA Slate Roofers are professionals, most of whom are family members, and they conduct themselves accordingly. Very "can do" attitude, friendly, intelligent and HONEST! They proceeded to tackle each and every one of the "problems" with which we had struggled for years. And for a very reasonable price. My wife and I cannot emphasize enough what a great experience this team provided us---in all aspects: the work, the attitude, the business details, the follow-up.

The slate was repaired with no problem. The dormer was painted initially, but it rained that day. After calling Mike later this summer and sending him some pics of the dormer, he sent his guys back down to put on a couple more coats. It looks good now.

Mike and his Team were professional and timely. They were very knowledgeable who provided advice and recommendations not only for the roof but for other areas of my home. When Western PA Slate was first contacted, I got the sense of trustworthiness and the feeling that my roof was the Teams priority. This is what you want when looking to hire someone for work. The completed work looks great and they went the extra mile to do stuff that wasn't in the original proposal with no additional cost. The crew did well cleaning everything when finished. I'll definitely hire Western PA Slate again if future work is needed.

After all was said and done. Mike's men did a fantastic job. The work was done in an excellent professional manner. Cleanup was done at the end of each work day. A job that I thought would take a week, took only three days. Its hard to find the kind of men that did this job in a manner that is professional. Excellent work.

Mike took the time to explain to me the work he would do; no question on my part was too much. I had a big concern about the mismatched slate on my roof. Because of the age of the roof and the natural fading that has taken placed, I questioned finding the right Vermont slate. Mike assured me that he could match my Vermont slate, and he did. I now have a uniform colored roof. Mike and Chris were on time and worked in a very professional manner. In addition, as he and Chris did the work, when he saw something else that needed a bit of attention, they took care of it. In all 37+ slates were addressed. Mike will be the person I call to maintain my roof.

The job was done efficiently and thoroughly. The roofers were friendly and polite and cleaned up thoroughly after the job was finished, This company goes the extra mile-they knew I needed the job to be completed before August. Although they were behind schedule due to the constant rain over this summer, they managed to fit me in. Without reservation I HIGHLY recommend Western PA Slate!

We had a leak in our tile roof for a couple years and another roofer for some reason could not find it. So I got in touch with Mike and explained the problem and the approximate location of the leak. His crew came out and found the problem in about 20 mins. They replaced a cracked tile. Mike followed up after a couple substantial rainfalls to make sure everything was ok. Great customer service.

Mike is very urbane, trustworthy and very professional in all aspects of performing the services he provides for slate roof repair. The job task went so well that we decided to hire Western PA Slate to perform yearly routine preventive maintenance services of our slate roof. Mike called back immediately and was able to stop over and take a look that day. After determining what was needed he sent an estimate. The work was scheduled for the following week. Anytime you have a leak in a roof, it can be very difficult to find. The roof slants and sometimes the water runs down, but the leak can be up high. They workers were very nice and friendly and explained exactly what they found. They replaced the cracked tiles. The roof is holding up just fine! We've had several hard rains and I've checked after each of them and I've found no evidence of leaking.

I am very pleased with Western PA Slate, this is the second time we have hired them for a home we own in PA. We are over 11 hours drive from the home so it is imperative that we have a quality professional that can be trusted to provide a quality job at a reasonable price.
