As usual it went great, they come out do an estimate follow up and let you decide if you want to move forward. Their work is great. <br />

The guys came and got right to work. They were great, fast and courteous. The new gutters made all the difference, no more drips over the door! <br />

Friendly service, prompt response to emails, willingness to negotiate on price.  Excellent work by very competent team.

The team showed up early as promised. They were very accommodating regarding the amount of stuff we still had in the attic (I meant to do a better cleanup than what I managed to accomplish). When done with the original job, they surveyed the garage, provided a price to reattach the insulation that was coming loose, and completed the work the same day. All in all, very professional. No trash left behind, nice crew, prompt responses. Will definitely consider them for future jobs.

Two very different projects performed by the same handyman.  Both done extremely well.  We were very pleased with his services.  Prices came in on budget and he performed services on time.

An estimate of $2245 was provided in a prompt manner.  I was expecting more detail in the estimate i.e. man hours required and material cost.  Westside got back to me promptly  indicating job would take 2 men 2 days to complete. <br /> The job seemed to be finished in 1 day with a second day required to do touch ups. The work was performed in a highly professional manner and I was very pleased with the results.  Since this involved the front of an English Tudor I am glad it turned out very well.  I just hoped it would not have been quite so expensive.  <br /> I found the firm very polite and responsive to deal with and would definitely use them again.

Mr. Amerman, the owner, came to my home and developed the estimate. His explanations were clear and specific to all of the problems identified. His price reflected the work and materials necessary for the job. Overall, the final result was consistent with his ratings. Absolutely no drama. Everyone arrived on time, worked smoothly and professionally, and were courteous in their explanations and answers to questions. Close to the end of the first day, a thunder storm suddenly developed with everyone mid-work on the roof. Despite the rain and the lightening, the crew took the extra time needed to ensure that everything was secured from the weather before they left to return the next day. Based on my experience, I would recommend him and his crew.

Alan was courteous and prompt with estimates. The workers were punctual on the day of the job and were finished by early afternoon. No remnants/messes were left from the job.

Alan came for an estimate. I ordered the storm door from Home Depot. Promptly on time, worker came to repair and install the storm door. Everything was completed in time and clean up was done properly. They did a good job and I would recommend their service to other people.

Alan was very prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful.  Bucky and his crew did great work and were a pleasure to deal with.  As many others have noted, Westside's prices are on the high side.  But their work is terrific in every respect.

Alan came promptly to give a quote, he explained in detail every aspect of the rebuild of the cottage, what we could salvage and what would need to be replaced - he advised us on the materials for the jobs throughout the house and gave us a very competitive quote for all the elements required. His team of Bucky and Alex arrived within a week of confirmation of the job. <br /> The job of rebuilding the cottage was extensive, the old walls were removed, along with the windows, floor and ceiling. The structure was reinforced and fully insulated before the new walls, windows and flooring were put in. We also had some detailed panel work installed which was done beautifully as was all the framing around the windows.  <br /> We had a new external basement door installed and again the attention to detail was impeccable with regard to the framing.  <br /> The two a/c window units that were in the main house were larger than the window frames so the original owner had cut into the frames to install them, which meant that Bucky and Alex had to not only install the new windows but also repair and replicate the original frame work. Again the workmanship on this project was perfect - there was not one detail omitted.  <br /> Overall we would highly recommend Westside Home Improvement, Alan and his team are extremely professional on every possible level, craftsmanship, timeliness, and cleanliness. We will very happily use them again in the future.

Reliable and easy to work with. Calls returned quickly and any problems that arise are quick to be solved.

Concrete wasn't in good shape and the iron railings had to be re-set due to rust or cracked concrete.  They did a really good job. <br />  I was impressed by the attention to detail.  One of the guys was clearing out the area to the side and under the bottom set of steps and was putting all the debris on a board and carrying it over to garbage bags.   <br /> Also, when I asked him about clearing the dirt, rocks and broken concrete under the bottom steps, he told me that he was going to fill it in with concrete so that he wasn't patching over a problem.  A willingness to do the extra work and not take shortcuts was very much appreciated.

A bit iffy on exact time of arrival.  Don't schedule a busy day just in case.   Initial estimate meeting with Alan was great.  He's very nice and seems very knowledgeable and easy to talk to.  The 2 gentlemen that came did a great job. <br />

I gave them excellent ratings because of the crew.  They showed up on time, got right down to work and worked straight through every day.  They were polite, personable and professional, and left a clean workspace every night.  We were very happy with the custom carpentry and with the painting.  Bucky (the foreman) was great. He was there almost every day, answered all our questions and was solution-oriented when we had concerns. When he was unavailable, Ken and Jose made sure things progressed smoothly. <br /> Their pricing was very fair and we got good value for our money. They gave us a 10-year warranty on the carpentry and 6 years on the painting. Candi, the woman in the office, is very tenacious and detail-oriented. <br /> In addition to the painting and woodwork, they replaced  few downspouts and the workmanship was very good.  I would absolutely consider them for this kind of work in the future. <br /> Advice to prospective clients: be detailed in your statement of work and very specific in your preferences (e.g., putty or replace wood?). I suppose that's good advice in all cases, but I found it very helpful to have detailed documentation.  In spite of a couple of snags (inevitable on a project this size) we were happy with the results, and  would consider using them again. <br /> <br /> <br />

Everything turned out great, our steps were falling apart and wouldn't have lasted the winter.  Their carpenter 'Bucky' is fantastic,  this is the second time he's done work for us.  We called many contractors but Westside was the most responsive and punctual.  They always respond to emails fast and during business hours i could always get them on the phone.  They even offered a phone number if i had to call off hours. <br />

All went well.  They came when they said they were going to and finished the project in 2 days.  House looks great! <br />

They showed up on time, laid down sheeting and tarps to prevent the spread of dust, did an really good job, were fine to have around the house and cleaned up after themselves. <br />

Called westside to setup appointment for estimate, was able to get appointment the next day. Alan came at the time window provided, and emailed me estimate later that day. I was instructed to get the storm door from homedepot, which I did. I then accepted the contract. About a week later, I got call that they can install the door. So we setup a time. They came on time, actually they came earlier than the scheduled time, and nobody was home yet. But they were able to start the outside work as it is a storm door. The work was finished on time. It seems they have done a good job, the new storm door was installed fine. I hope no issue would arise over time. <br /> They are professional and I really like their punctuation, and not letting you wait all day. <br /> Yes, I would recommend them to a friend. <br />

The drain tube was installed in early afternoon but when I arrived that evening  the plastic tube had  detached from the air condition plug. That evening  I notified them by email and they responded right away. They came over the next  morning and  the worker took care of it by re-attaching  it back into the air-condition unit and it was also glued on. <br /> So, far it has stayed on.  They performed the work in a timely manner from the time I was given an estimate  by the owner (Alan)  on a Saturday. I would certainly used his services again. <br />

Went vey well - Bucky and Ken worked well as a team - were neat - friendly - instructive and cleaned up so that you would never know a shop miter saw had been used in the driveway.  carted away old damaged rigid poly sheeting and lumber which had to be <br /> removed before starting job.  Bucky and Ken are the carpentry team and previously ( 2 years ) we had west side work on our gutters to our satisfaction with a different specialist team. Didn't know they did carpentry work until I reconnected via Angies list. <br />
