The provider came to our house to assess the problem.  They had installed the gutters a few years before, so we called them as we <br /> liked their work.  The provider sent a worker out the next day.  He repaired the flashing and the siding, and found the ice dam problem.  <br /> He returned to install a heating cable for the gutters.  He worked in a diligent and professional manner. <br />

In the beginning things went very very well.  They gave me a quote and I paid up front.  The work started to become quite sloppy and I started to investigate why.  Come to find out the work was being rushed and in the end the crew was pulled off my job to work on the owners home. I had asked for an itemized list, there was more work to be done, after I realized that I was not going to receive a list, I stopped work and have now asked for my money back.  It has been a week and they have stopped taking my calls.  Many jobs were started like tiling and sheet rock that were started but left half done.  There has been some improvement in my home but these unfinished jobs make things look worse.

They were on time finished in one day and it solved the leak in my basement. <br />

Bottom line: Westside provides excellent service, truly unsurpassed craftsmanship, accurate and very reasonable quotes (lowest we found), work efficiently, are very polite, punctual and courteous.  They are fantastic - without hesitation I would recommend them to family and friends.  If you need more details, read on. <br /> As part of a comprehensive home renovation project, we initially hired Alan?s team at Westside for a few smaller projects - resizing our <br /> kitchen cabinets to fit larger appliances, building a new doorframe separating the first floor from the basement and adding crown molding throughout the top floor.  We were so pleased with their work (and their prices) that we proceeded to hire Westside multiple times to complete major projects, including a complete renovation of the master bathroom and rebuilding our staircase. <br /> Simply put, Westside are master craftsmen ? there work is absolutely stunning!  The ?staircase project? took creativity and a ton of careful planning.  We showed them a few pics of staircases that we found online of the general concept that Westside ran with the project.  The project manager developed a plan and executed marvelously.  They were so thorough that they fine tuned each step in the staircase until every single little squeak was gone!  The final product is beautiful and exceeds all of our expectations. <br /> Westside also renovated our master bath with equal care.  Their tiling work is unsurpassed and thoughtful - they hand cut tiny tiles to ensure corners and awkward edges appear seamless.  It?s remarkable. <br /> Given the scope of our projects and the number of companies that we worked with, I found Westside to be the most reliable I will be working with them again to help me on my future projects.  Finding them on Angie's List made the subscription worthwhile.

Overall the quality of Westside's work is A+.  They are not the low cost provider - as you will see in other reviews, however  in the case of work on our home - we decided quality of work & professionalism are more important than cost alone.  Additionally, Westside's bid estimates are not as detailed as I'd like - so just ensure you are fully aligned with Alan in advance on the scope of work & your expectations.  It is a minor point and did not impact quality or scope of work in our case, but as an engineer & manufacturing professional, I personally prefer very specific statements of work and estimates.

All went well. Gave them a B for punctuality because they said they'd be out on Tuesday between 9 and 10am but never showed. I called at noon and they said someone would be out in the afternoon if the weather held out. The weather did not hold out and it rained, hard---the main reason I was trying to get them out was because I knew a storm was coming and wanted the gutters cleaned beforehand. So it kept raining until Wednesday, Thursday was a holiday, and they did the job on Friday. Not the end of the world, of course, but like I said, I wanted to gutters cleaned before the big rainstorm. <br />

They were very good. I didn't actually deal with them, my tenants did, but they didn't seem to have any complaints.

Alan visited my home and assessed my issues.  His crew, Bucky and staff were at my house in just a few short days.  They were immensely helpful neat and courteous. I would certainly use them in the future for any issues!

Westside came out, provided the quote and the work was done the following day. They were very professional, on time and completed the job very quickly. I was very happy with their work and would definitely use them again. <br />

We had Alan out to price out this job and others. He was very thoughtful and professional. He gave us an estimate for the closet project on the spot. Since the stairwell was fully sheetrocked, they did not know going in what the closet would look like, but provided an estimate based on what we agreed was the right approach. The 2 man team came out on a Saturday on time. They were thoughtful and respectfully presented an alternative design for the closet for consideration, with a clear explanation why it may be preferable to the original design (the alternative turned out to be the right choice). They worked diligently and relatively quietly. They were open to our inspecting the progress, explaining what they were doing (even to our young children) and soliciting input in areas where choices could be made. They listened to us and delivered a solution to what we needed. They cleaned up well. We were very pleased with the work and the experience and plan to hire them again for other projects on our list. <br />

Good service, showed up on time and worked efficiently. Actual cost was very close to estimate. <br />

The house has two storm doors, one in front and one in the back, both of which were in very bad shape and did not seal properly. With the onset of a very cold winter we were getting terrible drafts. <br /> I called Westside Home Improvement and left my number and a brief description of the work I needed done. They got back to me the same day and two days later Alan, the owner, had stopped by to look at the job. He gave me a fair estimate on the spot and we scheduled to do the work the very next week. <br /> His carpenter Bucky arrived nice and early on the scheduled day. He gave me some good advice and helped me to pick out two replacement doors. The work was done quickly and with attention to detail. He even unjammed a stuck lock on our rear door that was giving us trouble closing. He was very polite and cleaned up all debris once he was done. <br /> I can't recommend them highly enough. <br />

It was not necessary for us to watch them doing their work as they worked very professionally on their own. <br /> They kept right to the job.  They left the work area very clean; they cleaned up after all of their work. <br /> Westside totally followed up on what they promised to do.  They were very pleasant to work with. <br /> We would be glad to use them again in future work.  Their estimate given ended up to be the <br /> actual cost paid to them.  Excellent professionalism.  We found Westside in Angie's List, and found the reviews to be very helpful.  As others had given Westside good ratings, we thought it best to try Westside.  And, it all worked out extremely well.

The damage was caused by Hurricane Sandy to two sides of the house.  We called and the office team was extremely helpful.  They coordinated with Alan for him to come out the next day to assess the damage. He arrived on time and look a detailed look around the house. He quoted us a figure to repair the damage that was on the higher end, but we were expecting that from other reviews.  A crew was out less than a week later to conduct the repairs.  They did so quickly and the quality was excellent.  I was asked if they could come back at a later time to paint the repaired siding to allow the sealant and adhesives to dry.   In the next week, they came back out and finished the painting while accommodating a request to check the rest of the house for damage we may not have seen.  I was out of town when they finished things off, and so the crew leader was willing to stop by on a Sunday to pick up the check.   The service we received was excellent from start to finish and I would recommend this business. <br />

Alan came out as expected, was professional and knowledgeable. He could see right away what the problem was. He gave us a price that was highly competitive so we hired him. The workers were great--on time, very professional. They cleaned up every scrap of metal and every nail or screw. Then they took is around and showed us the work. The next day we had torrential rain and not a drop ran over the gutters. We are very, very pleased.
