Friendly, fair work results, extremely overpriced @ $ 187.25 for three hours.

It sucked. I met the owner and he seemed a very nice and professional person. I explained that I was a very busy person and wanted to have not only my apartment moved but professionally packed up, then when moved into the new apartment placed properly into each room. I allowed the owner to examine my apartment to gain a better idea of what this would entail. He gave me an estimate of $1200. This estimate would later jump up to $1598. No, I did not add anything to what he originally saw, or had requested any additional services, but somehow an additional $498 appeared on the new estimate. I, myself, packed up all the fragile knick-knacks, as to not have the movers stop and individually wrap each one I also had thrown out several large items that I had decided to repurchase after the move. So, they did not have to move the computer desk, and they only had to move 1 dresser. There were no dining room chairs to be moved, nor was there a sofa or living room chairs to be moved. Also, the townhouse that I was moving into was not ready, so we ended up not having them move our stuff into the townhouse but to a storage facility. Okay, think about this. We had estimated so much time to place the boxes into the correct room. Now, that we simply were placing all the boxes into one room, you would think that the actual move would be easier and faster. No, it was not. First, the crew he had hired, even though they were very nice and polite, they were out of their element. They did not know how to box up things efficiently properly. To my chagrin, I would find out later that they packed glassware touching each other without any packing material between them. I lost a lot of glassware in the move because of this. The movers did not seem to have a well laid out plan and the packing took far longer than it should have taken. We finally moved everything to the facility. My final cost? $1588. By not having them move everything into another apartment and into individual rooms, I saved $10. I still tipped the movers $100, I felt they tried their best and it was not their fault that poor leadership and direction caused such chaos. I was told that if I used his company again, I would receive a discount for the move from the facility to my townhouse. When I asked how much would such be. I was quoted $100 truck rental fee, and $67 an hour weekdays, and $100 an hour weekends. His discounted fee was more expensive than the fee I actually ended up paying another moving company to move me into the townhouse. I paid $65 truck fee and $65 an hour. So, yeah, big discount, right? Overall, I would not recommend him and his company at this time. In the future, maybe. He is a very nice person and I think his company has a lot of promise, he just has to get the right crew and have them properly trained. My mother was in her room while one of the movers was packing up her room and remarked to me later how slow the person packed up her clothes. She commented that if you are packing up clothes you take an armful of them off the rack and place them into the box, instead the person in question would take one item at a time and place it in the box. It is small things like this that added up together created big things. It created broken glassware, it created them taking way too long to pack up. Again, I think the more experience his company receives on smaller jobs, the better it will become to tackle more complex jobs.

It was a great experience. They are professional and did the good job.
