Whiting was there when others contractors either dropped the ball or wanted to milk me for tens of thousands of dollars more. The Whiting Company offered a fair and competitive estimate, worked with me on my (often delayed) schedule and did the work to the finest standards. I am so happy I tell my neighbors about The Whiting Company, and their good work.

Beware of this company and stay far far away. I contracted the Whiting company to replace windows, gutters and a door. Heed the bad reviews on the sites as I have experienced everything that everyone has said. Not only did they damage my siding but they miss installed the capping around the windows and didn't install insulation around my windows. Now I'm tied up in a year+ of formal complaints because Mr. Whiting refuses to resolve the issues to any level of professional standard. The Whiting company itself does not conduct any work, they hire primarily unlicensed subcontractors to independently conduct the work you contract. They do not supervise, inspect, or even show up on the property to ensure that work is completed correctly. If you have had work done by this company, PLEASE call the company and demand to have it inspected as the subcontractors (Kevin in my case) has proven to cut countless corners including not installing insulation inside the walls. When I found the first issue, Mr. Whitings' response to me was "get a can of spray foam and fix it", then he claimed that he didn't have to install insulation. He continually refuses to commit in writing to do work to any level of professional standard. I've filed a complaint with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission, gone to mediation and done everything required of me but he refused to complete the tasks he committed to complete in writing. He consistently promises verbally to do things but then refuses to put them in writing, this should be a HUGE red flag to anyone looking for a business to do work on their home. He offered to "fix" everything verbally but then as repeatedly became belligerent when I asked to capture what he would complete in writing. I initially gave him the benefit of the doubt and allowed him to inspect and fix my kitchen window but his crew caused further damage to my property and the fixes actually look worse. I've filed a claim with his insurance and they have accepted liability for the damaged siding but due to a workmanship clause will not cover a significant portion of the work that needs to be completed. He continues to deny that quotes from other companies to complete the work are legitimate. I'm now TWO YEARS into this nightmare and Tim Whiting refuses to respond to any emails. The only choice I have to get the work completed is to file a claim with the state of MD and likely sue him. Save yourself time, money, and a WHOLE LOT of headaches and STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!

We hired Whiting Co to replace vinyl siding on the exterior of our home and install a new front door with a security/storm door. I gave one star because the salesman was very nice and showed up on time for scheduled appointments. The door installers were also very nice and hard workers. However, that is about the only positive thing I can say about this experience. To begin, the siding installers were very rushed and left a giant mess for us to clean up (tons of nails in the alley next to our house and on our porch). They also forgot to install new downspouts (which they eventually came back to do after we contacted Whiting Co.). Also, because of a failure to schedule correctly (siding was installed before new door), we now have a 2-inch gap around the front door that looks worse than the old siding. Additionally, one of the main reasons for a new front door w/ new frame was to have a security/storm door that actually closed. Unfortunately, Whiting Co. ordered the wrong door frame and now we are stuck without the ability to install a storm door. Their solution was to pay even more for an "expander door frame" that would defeat the whole purpose of the new door. To say we are disappointed is putting it lightly. I don't like to write negative reviews but we made a significant investment in this project and we are left with nothing but disappointment and therefore cannot recommend Whiting Co.

The crew was great. Quick installation, and the installation has been quality over a year later. The house looks great. The salesperson who arrived to give me the quote provided me with a multitude of different options and a multitude of colors. There were no hidden costs, what he quoted me on the initial survey was the final cost upon completion of the job.

The doors were installed well, but I was given no choice on which doors to choose from and ended up with the same ones that came with the house 30 years ago. It was hard to believe that nothing updated or child safe was available. Their price was good and so was their availability. There is so much glass and so little frame in the door, that a child could crash right through them. However, they seem to be well insulated and noticeably energy saving. The glass in the new doors were cloudy from the start and after 2 years of cleaning them with Windex and Glass Plus not getting them clean, I finally tried power washing, and they are still not clean. I made this home improvement to help sell my home and make it more energy efficient for the next owners. The workers had to saw the top off the wood frame to install the sliders and the saw dust clung to every glass surface in the dining room, and I still can't get it off after 2 years. They put the outside handle upside down and came back to fix it, after all of my real fingernails broke off. Now, I can get back into the house from the deck and I am not trapped out there. The workers were nice, friendly, and installed the door well, except for the handle. They arrived on time and even worked in the rain. Due to the mess, the cloudy glass, and the broken fingernails, I would not hire them again, even though the doors work great. My house didn't sell, so I took it back off the market. Perspective buyers mentioned the doors not being safe for their children.

These guys gave us a number, then after taking a deposit upped their price. Granted, we do have an unusual situation (half round gutters on old style hangars under a slate roof) but we tried to explain that to the guy that came out to measurements. We asked them to work with us to come up with a solution and they could not. When I called to cancel, management threw his sales guy under the bus instead of taking responsibility. He also forgot to call his work crew to tell them that the project was cancelled so they showed up at 8am expecting to work on a job that was no longer going to happen.

"when my gutter installer looked at his gutters he noted that the old gutter straps were under a slate roof and he did not have a gutterboard (facia board) to install the new gutters onto. we were not doing the slate roof only a lower roof that was shingled but we were doing all the gutter. the only way we could install the new gutter he wanted was to add gutterboard to the order. we gave him a price to add the gutterboards and he did not want to do it...he asked to cancel his contract and i am sending his deposit back to him and cancelling the contract. we didnt up our price he needed more work to be done because of the way his house was built. this house is in the historic district and the old gutter straps were attached to the roof and the slate shingles were put on top the gutterstraps on this upper level. there is no gutterboard only drip edge and it would not support the new gutters. we cancelled the roof and the gutterwork at his request and did not prerform any work for this customer although he say we performed the work in his reply."

This company is amazing. Exceptional work and attention to all aspects of the work that needed to be preformed. I had a bit of nervousness in trying to find a contractor for what I considered a major job, after seeing how other roofs were replaced in my neighborhood. From the sales personnel, the roofing crew, to the crew who installed the gutters - absolute professionals. The scheduling time frame was very reasonable, as was the price. The fact the the company could handle all required aspects of roof replacement and repairs to fascia or other trim work, and then install the gutters - made it a simple decision. The roofing crew deserves special recognition for their craftsmanship, care of the property, and work ethic - a finely tuned crew. All the work (expect for gutters) was done in one day, and with nothing to clean up after they left.

Whiting were efficient in replacing a custom skylight which had been smashed by a falling branch. They came out, measured the skylight's dimensions, had a replacement delivered to our home, and sent a team to replace the skylight with minimum fuss and disruption to the home. The workmanship was excellent.

Tim Whiting, and his company, are nothing short of amazing. After a few weeks of heavy rain, my roof began leaking. Tim was the only one who could get to my house in less than a week. His crew came out, diagnosed the problem (2 separate areas were leaking), replaced boards and shingles, and completely remediated the issue. I could NOT be happier with the service, and they will be my first call with any future roofing issues. Thank you Tim!!!

Not very well, my wife and I we're very dissatisfied with the way our roofing was handled. There is still a dip in the front our roof and some how the side of our roof was damaged.

"i have explained to mr and mrs. [Member Name Removed] that when their townhouse unit was built the builder had the end rafter a little high and for that reason the plywood angles up about an inch.....i gave him this information so he could present it to his insurance company to see if they would check it out and authhorize money to remove it and correct the framing......the framing was not part of his roof replacement contract and he does not want to pay for the additional work that we were not hired to do. we did not frame his house we only put a new roof on top of his existing sheathing which is on top of the framing and rafters."

The whole team was extremely professional, friendly and very respectful of my property. The salesman Tony explained every option and even showed me videos of how the gutter system worked. He explained the difference in the shingles. The installer took extra precautions in tarping the entire yard to catch debris since i have dogs. They cleaned up so well that I didnt have to worry. The owner called himself to go over details and check in. From the salesman to the installers -great crew.

I was very pleased with the original roofing job that was completed in 2017. The crew was efficient, professional and very courteous. I had contacted several companies before closing Whiting. They offered me the best price and seemed the most sincere. I have no regrets as they did a terrific job. Since then I had two leaks, both related to caulking that had worn away. When I contacted Tim, he was immediately responsive and sent someone out to fix the situation within a few days. Every interaction I have had with Tim and his staff have been very positive, professional and productive. I highly recommend this company!
