Central A/C - Install
Do not use Wighton's for HVAC installation.
We hired Wighton's to install central AC in our new home. We met them onsite before work began, showed them around, and made ourselves readily available ? we live 10 minutes away and told them as much. We even told them we had left snacks and cold drinks in the kitchen for them. What followed was one of the most frustrating and frankly unacceptable contractor experiences we've ever had. They didn't fulfill the most basic terms of their own contract.
Their contract explicitly includes "customer walk thru and proper operation explained" as a deliverable. Instead, they called at 3pm to say they were done and had already left ? no heads-up that they were wrapping up, no walkthrough, no explanation of the new system. Just gone.
Their contract also promises to "remove old equipment and clean work area to customer's satisfaction." What we actually found: two giant orange traffic cones left behind, a Brita filter, pieces of wood, and literal dirt

The job was done quickly. The plumber installed a new garbage disposal, fixed the sink faucet issue another plumber said was unfixable, and repaired a toilet. He was polite, efficient and cleaned up after himself thoroughly.

These guys tried to charge my parents 3,800 for a water heater, and said they had to decide on the spot. They called to schedule an appointment one day later on a Friday and charge them $420 an hour to remove the old water heater and put on one cap. Seriously. They are trying to rip off older people. My plumber said a water heater is about 1600. I did show up as scheduled anyway.

Wightons charged $742 to auger one toilet. Please see the bill attached. They were at the house for less than a half an hour. They also told the tenant that the toilet needed to be replaced. It was not even one year old. Unethical business practices. This company is not trustworthy.

really can't recommend this company. They tried to charge me $780 for a surge suppressor for my heater and the installation of a thermostat that I own! This is outrageous! And that doesn't include the $99 service call! Please look elsewhere. Not only that, I had to call repeatedly to try to get an appointment and a status report. Meanwhile I'm freezing in my home with no heat.
