Total rip off. Was quoted $773.00. This included the $60.00 diagnosis visit. We discovered that the part was only $300.00 and available free overnight ship from AMAZON. We called about this and questioned the charges with representative Alan. He said they charge by the job. Not knowing how long the job would take we agreed (although he did knock the price to $700.00) and the plumber, whose name was Guy was here for a total of 50 minutes from start to finish!!! I called and spoke with the secretary and asked that the manager call me as I wanted to discuss this outrageous charge with him. A week passed. No call. Wish I had read these reviews first. Do yourself a favor and avoid this rip off company at all costs.

work was done well but the cost was outrageous. all set and done i spend $4000 when i priced the water heater itself it retailed for less than $1500. $2500 for labor and warranty is rather ridiculous.

I originally called them to see if they could hook up my cold water to my water softener because it was ruining my appliances and to install my faucet in the kitchen. The plumber did not show up as promised but did call later in the day to say he would be over the next day. I had to work so my husband had to make arrangements to get here when he showed up. My husband called me at work and put "Tony" on the phone who proceeded to tell me that the cold water could not be ran through a water softener. I then asked him to just install the faucet. Tony told my husband that I said to go ahead and install the faucet so my husband signed off on the job. I was never given the amount we would be charged for the job when I told him to install the faucet. When I got home I found out he installed the faucet and put a small shut-off valve on each pipe to the hot and cold water. For some reason it took him 3 hours?! My husband came home at least once to see if he was done and our room mate also asked him when he was going to be done. He handed my husband a bill for $766.00! I contacted this company because they advertised they had "straightforward pricing" (straightforward means HONEST) unlike others who charge you for "time and materials" so they can bill you more the longer they take, and also that "you get a precise appointment window". Well, with straightforward pricing they billed us a "level 3" at $233. They then multiplied it by 3. Nobody from their business could tell me how they determine a level (level 1 was $59) or why it was multiplied x 3. I was assured it wasn't because the plumber was here for three hours (really...I could have probably done it myself in 1/2 the time---only wanted him to install it because he was already here for the other issue). I did go to the Internet to try to find the formula used to determine what level to charge and why it was multiplied 3 times but could not find the answer. Both my husband and I called several times to talk to the owner but he was gone on vacation for several weeks. We were each told different dates when he would return and call us back. My husband finally reached him and tried to discuss the issue. The owner eventually came down to $400.00 but that was all as he said he "had to make a little profit". I later found out that this straightforward pricing is a scam. Such a shame they think it is okay to scam people to keep their business going. This was a horrible experience and I will NEVER recommend them to anyone, EVER! <br />

"Wild West Plumbing sincerely regrets when a client of ours is not completely satisfied with the service they received. In the case involving the [Removed member name], our company would like to answer all the issues presented. Wild West Plumbing schedules two hour windows, as this is a way of best utilizing the technician and time on a daily basis. Occasionally our plumbing technician finds himself on a job that takes longer. We then contact the clients waiting for service to inform them that we need to finish the current job and reschedule as needed, as was the case here. When our technician Troy arrived at this service call he went through the company procedure for a service call. Dave initialed the invoice for the $59.00 minimum charge to proceed with the diagnosis. The technician informed both the husband & wife that normal installation for water softeners excludes cold water to the kitchen sink and outside faucets, but could be hooked up if that is what they wanted. They decided on installing the kitchen faucet, a Level 4 expense. The technician then found that the shut off valves under the sink were leaking and causing damage, he quoted the price using our Straight Forward Pricing (Straight Forward Pricing: Is a purchased matrix that allocates a service & repair plumbing company’s overall operating expenses into each level of service. This allows the company to stay competitive and viable in an ever changing economy) to replace them at a Level 4 each, the husband agreed to have the valves replaced. The invoice has his initials on it. Wild West Plumbing assumes that the person who initials the invoice has the authority to approve the work. So we installed the faucet, and replaced the valves at the agreed upon price. Once the job was completed the husband signed the bottom of the invoice stating that work performed was to his satisfaction. Wild West Plumbing would like to emphasize that we do not proceed with any service without prior approval from the client; this includes full disclosure of the total cost. Service call completed. Next the wife calls saying that the amount that was charged was excessive and wanted to talk to the owner. She was informed that the owner was out of town on personal family business and was not available. She was also informed that they would be contacted when he had returned. Wild West Plumbing put the issue on a hold basis until the owner had talked to the client. On July, 13 Mr. Voigt called and discussed this whole issue with the owner of Wild West Plumbing. In line with our company policy “Happy Today or You Don’t Pay” the owner asked [Removed member name] what price would make him Happy, he replied that $400.00 would make him Happy so the owner agreed and we processed the payment. Imagine our surprise when we looked at our latest review and were presented with this! In this review we are also referred to as active participants in a scam (a confidence game or other fraudulent scheme, especially for making a quick profit; swindle). The scam: “Straight Forward Pricing” is a trademark product of Plumbers Success International. We are referred to as dishonest: (not honest; disposed to lie, cheat, or steal; not worthy of trust or belief). In responding to this I will say that we did not do anything on this service call without [Removed member name] having full knowledge of the service and the total cost."

1. The plumber was 1.5 hours late <br /> 2. This company charges $60 for a quote <br /> 3. When the plumber saw the valve, he stated the valve needed to be disassembled and repaired. When I heard the $720 quote, I asked him how long it would take, he gave me a vague answer and suggested they may need to tear down the wall. <br /> I asked about the hourly rate they charged, and he would not answer my question. I then asked why would he rebuild a valve, when a replacement would be simpler. The plumber became angry and argued with me. <br /> I paid the $60 for that asinine exchange. I went to Home Depot and described the problem in 1 minute, the man directed me to the correct aisle. I bought the $40 dollar valve and went home. I installed the valve and we had a working bath in 15 minutes!!! <br /> So Wild West plumbers hourly rate: $720 -$40 = $680 in 15 minutes of labor. That is $2,720 per hour. <br /> I'm sure they're more reasonable for larger projects, but it appears they like to exploit people when they get a chance. The dude's little outburst on the phone was WAAAAAY less than professional. <br /> Rest Assured Wild West, I'm spreading bad news for you. <br />

Wild West Plumbing technicians are trained to be courteous, professional and to always treat our clients with respect. When our technician was debriefed he stated that there was no unpleasant conversation or exchange with the client. We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and our business has not survived for 29 years by treating people the way you described. On every service call we quote our client a straight forward price up front before any work is started. We do this, so there is no reason to argue. Then the client makes a decision to proceed with the work or decline. The $59.00 service fee helps defer the cost of sending our service truck (Ware house on Wheels) to your home with an expert, licensed and insured technician and is quoted when the service call is booked. Again Wild West Plumbing regrets that this client felt he had a bad experience."

Told the "spout spray kitchen faucet leaking." Well duh, that's why I called. Told that the faucet could be replaced with new faucet for either $991 or a better model at $1359. I declined. Turns out the existing faucet had a lifetime warranty. Moen sent me all the parts to repair the dripping faucet, and detailed written instructions. Moen also sent links to videos explaining the repair. Surely the plumber knew that the faucet might be under warranty and could have informed me instead of trying to sell me a new one. <br />

Knowledgeable service person. Jim Sattler showed up on time, snaked our drain, made sure it was cleared out. He advised us how to keep it from having problems in the future. Nice guy, in and out. Money well spent but not cheap.

Upon arrival, we showed Jim the room where we had a terrible odor. He went into the basement area to check for any leaks. Next he identified the toilet as the culprit. The toilet had not been installed properly and a piece below the toilet was cracked not allowing the correct seal. Before fixing anything, we were shown the problem, told what the cost would be, and then after getting the go-ahead, he fixed the problem. It is great to be able to leave that door open! While he was looking for leaks in the basement area, Jim mentioned that the pipes had been located in areas that they should not be. He measured and gave us an estimate on relocating the pipes, which we will have done within the next two weeks. We are extremely pleased with the service we received and would highly recommend Wild West Plumbing! <br />

Came and looked at - ordered parts than returned 3 weeks later to complete the repairs. Toilet was unusable during that time but that was our choice as we had other bathrooms. I am sure that had that been our only bathroom they would have made temporary fixes to the toilet. I would use them again.

This is my second review. My first one was extremely positive. This one is a little different. All was good but the price. I was a little shocked but went ahead and had him do it anyway because I had company coming. The labor part of the bill was realy high. $525.00 to install a new toilet and bathroom sink. The new stuff fit right in so there was not problem there. The only parts they used were the mechanisms inside the toilet tank. Those aren't expensive. The rest was labor. He was here about two hours so I figure I must have paid over $200.00 an hour for labor. That's about as high as my ex wife's crooked divorce attorney. Very disappointed but great work once again.

I have used the company several times. They are up front with an estimate that they stick too. They arrive when they say they will and even give you a notice by phone when they are a few minutes away. No problems with their work at all. Today I called them and they came out. It was more of a 'boiler issue' to which I was referred to a company specializing in boilers. I wasn't charged a dime, even with him quick fixing a leaky shut off valve. Most places would have at least charged me for a minimal service charge just for showing up. They do business the old fashioned way and they will be my plumbing people from now on.
