Alex Willett was paid for over 15,000$ in home remodeling. He left the roof unfinished; no soffit and he didn’t do the roof on the porch at all. He left the bathroom unfinished. He failed to build a kitchen cabinet that he was paid in full for. After receiving payment he chose to ignore our phone calls and texts. We had to seek out other contracts and pay them for work we had already paid for! Just to then hear he’s installing new kitchen cabinets in his house purchased at malones kitchen and bath countertop . He took advantage of us and used our money for his own home remodels during the covid pandemic when money was already tight.

Willett Construction started out professionally in mid September 2019. I got a couple of roofing estimates based on your company's recommendations. While this company's was the highest, I found out the company did previous work for my family. The project was a complete new metal roof over an existing RV. Not an easy task, and we did design it from scratch. The first issue was that Willett sub contracted the job to another company, so I did not get the "A" team I expected. The project went very well and I was pleased with the overall work..The company used high grade metal roofing over a series of trusses. The workers were prompt and careful and I was pleased. However, almost immediately I found a flaw in the design, Over the most exposed areas of the roof, the part that was most effected by the wind, the company used rolled sheet metal instead of the high grade roofing metal. Almost immediately I heard incessant banging as the metal contracted and also when the heat or cold expanded it. Had the company used the high grade roofing, or backed the sheet metal with pressure treated wood, we would not have a problem. I notified Willett immediately upon completion and since I was heading back to my winter home we agreed that we would wait and make the repairs and adjustments in the Spring. I notified the company several times over the winter, sent photos of the damaged areas and agreed to notify them when I came back in the Spring. I arrived in early June and was assured that I was "on the schedule" several times. I sent texts and emails and finally the owner came by and we agreed on what would need to be done, even to the point of him saying that he had additional metal roofing to finish the job. At first, he was responsive, now no return calls and I still have a serious problem with the potential to have leaks if the metal cracks while I am away this winter. What turned out to be something I was happy about is now very troubling. I understand that due to the pandemic that work was backed up. But I am a paying customer and I feel like I should have been a priority especially since he agreed to repair the roof. As a business owner, my practice is to communicate and even over communicate, especially to my paying customers and set expectations. I also appreciate feedback on our performance so I am writing this review. I am disappointed as this could have been avoided.

The crew was on site and ready to roll by 8am at the latest, to get the most out of everyday! The were polite and professional, while working around myself- and my children. The living room is now tongue and groove pine throughout, the wall separating the kitchen and living room was removed, the kitchen ceiling was raised 5ft- with the tongue and groove pine on the kitchen ceiling with a HUGE ceiling fan. The rooms feel so much bigger and it feels warm and inviting now! Very reasonably priced for the amount of work done! I would highly recommend to anyone looking to remodel their home!

With three kids in the home, it is quite an inconvenience. We will search for a professional. The contractor verbally agreed to do the work, he was using the owner's car, gas, some meals, some board, and some care for his kids. His dog was also boarded at no cost to him, along with food provided. <br />
