Outrageously expensive. Made promises they would not or could not keep. When asked to repair their original work, WR prepared estimates for more than $15,000.00 more work that was needed. (Why wasn't that work done originally?) This smacks of bait and switch tactics. Said their work would solve the problem for good, but then said they would only give a one year warranty. Talked them into making the warranty three years, but it is meaningless because they refuse to keep their word or honor their warranty. They made up some BS about the terrain changing. Their work has made the problem worse that it was before they "fixed" it. I paid $33,000.00 to them and they ruined our driveway and refuse to fix it. In my opinion, these guys are hucksters. I sincerely question whether they even possess the skills they sold me. Perhaps the court will be able to determine. Steer clear of these guys.

Willow Ridge staff were very professional, prepared plans for review, explained them to us fully, got our inputs and made adjustments. They completed project per schedule and were both very careful and thorough. Work was done to very high standards and looks fabulous.

They did very nice work and we’d use them again. We asked them to give us an idea of what they could do for us and the price and then it was they couldn’t do it until the plants that they were going to put in for us had to go dormant. They were here when they said they were going to be here. They were here bright and early that morning.

The design was very nice and well presented by Willow Ridge (WR). Also included were recommendations and/or components of the overall design that were to be done by the homeowner in conjunction with the work to be done by WR. The desired outcome was that the completed project would be "low maintenance" for the homeowner. <br /> Over-planting was the outcome. Too many plants were installed in the projected area. Mature size of plants was not taken into account as many of the larger specimens were required to be removed at maturity. In one instance a group of camellias was placed not more than 1' from each other. These all had to be transplanted with limited success. WR also has a practice of placing tall shrubs in front of windows. As the shrubs reached adult height these also had to be removed. Many unnecessary beds were created, often too close to the street and driveway. This required constant pruning and/or removal. Lastly, a low maintenance ground cover was used that is nearly impossible to weed and collects leaves in mass during the fall. <br /> I had mentioned that WR provided recommendation for us to move existing plants/shrubs to complement the overall design. The existing locations turned out to be the best places after all. After reaching maturity in the new locations all these specimens had to be removed. <br /> At about 8-10 years from the installation it was hard to see my house from the street. Large plantings in the foundation beds, large plantings along the street and driveway, large specimens in between. At this point I began to notice I was not alone. Many of the other homes in my neighborhood had the same problem, "over-planting". <br /> At this point I have removed most of the troublesome plants/shrubs/trees that were installed by Willow Ridge. This has been time consuming, expensive and a major annoyance. There are much better vendors to consult that will do a better job and be more focused on the quality provided the customer and less on padding the bill with over planting. <br /> <br /> Another note. At about three years after installation a variety of ground cover began to die. WR could not determine the problem and ultimately all of this specimen died. The cause that I determined was moles. One would think that a business with that many experts could have easily noted the problem before it was too late to be fixed. <br /> <br /> If you want your yard to look like an over planted jungle, this is the place for you. <br />

The $99 offer for design and consultation was clear in that you would have the the opportunity to purchase the plans for an additional fee should you elect not to move forward with the installation and if you did move forward with the installation the plans would be given to.you would have also received an As-built plan had the work been completed. If you have a change of heart and wish to proceed with the installation of planned work I would be more than happy to help you revive the look of your house. I never actually did get any plans. Ryan came out to the house a couple of times and tagged trees for removal, since my back yard needed some clearing to be done first. I hired a tree service to perform the clearing, and then asked Ryan to come back out to perform the original evaluation. He stated that the 1.5 hours he spent tagging trees was in lieu of the Angie's List deal. He further stated that they would normally provide a design evaluation for free. So, the $99 deal buys you something you could have had for nothing. Therefore, my opinion is: don't buy the deal, just go directly to Willow Ridge if you are so inclined. I don't doubt that they can do good work, though I don't have any direct evidence of it. Ryan was willing to come back out for no charge and perform the design, but at that point I was defeated and felt duped and so I called it off. <br />

Just to clarify, per your request I was asked to tag and mark the property for tree removal instead of a design since the removal was going to deplete the allocated budget for the time being. My apologies for any confusion and if I misunderstood. Also I would like to point out that we offer free consultations but out designs out never free unless we implement the work. If you decide you are ready to move forward with a plan now that the overgrowth left from the previous owner has been removed, my offer still stands to come back out and take a fresh look at things. Mr. Ryan Hanks responded to our request for an estimate after approximately two weeks. He arrived at the scheduled time, took measurements and discussed ideas. Approximately 1 week later he returned with drawings and a cost estimate. We agreed on price and scheduled the work to start which was about a month out. Got a call from Willow Ridge about 1 week before the work was to start informing me that Mr. Hanks was recovering from an illness and gave me the choice of delaying the project until his recovery or starting it as scheduled under a different supervisor. We elected to wait for Mr. Hanks as it was my impression that much of his design was only captured in his mind and I was concerned that a new person wouldn't be able to deliver the same product. So about 1 month later, the project actually got started. From that point forward, everything went smoothly and I am wll pleased with their performance. They arrived on time, worked hard, were professional and respectful of my property. Although the price exceeded my strawman budget substantially, after the work was completed I believe that I could not have done the same quality project for much less. Willow Ridge is not the cheapest game in town but you won't find better quality services. <br />

I really enjoy them! They are a good local company. Always have lots of knowledgeable employees that answer questions for you. I go to them all the time. They are average on price.

They were a little expensive but they did good work. They are prompt and are willing to work with you whatever you want. They are always on time. I don't have any other complaints other than the pricing.

It went well overall, once the work was started. <br /> Mr. Hanks came and surveyed the task, and provided a proposal. This included removing the concrete deck and using it along with purchased gravel to fill in the hole. Topsoil would be placed and seeded. <br /> Because they had a backlog of work to complete, it took a few weeks before they could start our job. However, once complete, the pool was just a memory. <br /> The lawn is doing nicely right now (spring 2013) and we're ready to think about landscaping! <br />

We received a written estimate for landscaping the front yard completed with photos and dates the work could be completed. We were told no money up front would be necessary - that we could just pay when the job was done. We had a lot of large shrubs removed, front beds revitalized, and new plants and shrubbery put in. The area was then mulched. The workers were skilled (some large equipment had to be used) and cleaned up all brush and debris. We will extremely pleased with all aspects of the job and will be using them again. <br /> <br />

Ryan Hanks came out within a few days of the home show where we first talked with him to give us an estimate. He really listened to what we had in mind and focused on being sure his ideas agreed with what we wanted. Several other companies came out but never seemed to listen to what we wanted. They seemed more interested in doing what was easiest for them and to get our money. <br /> Ryan came back with a proposal and a detailed drawing of what he proposed. Within a few weeks the crew came back out to do the work. They were completely professional and did excellent work and the project was even better than we could have imagined. Ryan made several suggestions as the project went along that seemed to enhance the overall work. We could not be happier. <br /> We would highly recommend this company and especially Ryan Hanks to anyone looking for landscaping. Very easy to work with and the final product is great.

When they did the sod in the ground, it was uneven and we cannot get that fixed. Other than that, they have done an excellent job.
