Great! Very pleased w/ the result. Plus, the crew did extra work e.g. installing a gutter downspout PVC extension pipe underneath a new concrete sidewalk slab. Plus new soil around the edges of the driveway, patio and retaining wall.

Superb craftsmanship displayed by the entire Company. Derek Wilson is confident, creative, compassionate and caring. We have had a lot of work done on our home, both interior and exterior, over the past year by at least 15 different companies. Wilson Concrete and Construction is at the top of our list for providing exceptional work. They know what they are doing, show up prepared to work and with the equipment needed. Derek was informative, hands-on and onsite throughout the entire project. Our property is on a hill. We had a concrete slab replaced in the backyard, retaining walls replaced, an extension to an existing wall, stairs between the walls leading to the back replaced and a large concrete driveway replaced. It had to be perfect to properly drain. Derek added his own special touches to make it all come together. It all looks amazing! I call it my concrete compound! Highly recommend Derek Wilson's company and his entire crew.

We were initially encouraged by the quote and conversations. Unfortunately and quite randomly a second driveway was found under the driveway being torn up and we were given a figure of the absolute highest it would be due to the extra labor. Final figure turned out to be $400 higher than the highest quote provided. In addition we didn't ask for extra work on a cracked step but they insisted they could replace it. They never did and now we're left with half a step. We reached out every day to get someone out to finish and they ghosted. We've never heard from them since. We learned our lesson in paying in full before the job was complete.

From the first phone call to the final product Derek and his crew were fantastic! We have a modern home in Prairie Village and we were looking for something a little different and we got it! We were able to tell Derek our vision and he came up with the perfect plan. He was even able to regrade our front yard and add the perfect concrete landscape edging. We look forward to referring many people to Wilson Concrete and utilize their services for any upcoming projects!

From start to finish Derek and crew were excellent. He is a hands on do the work owner which can be rare these days. Job was completed quickly and I am the envy of the neighbors. Outstanding crew, workmanship and attitudes. I would hire again and highly recommend.

I am very impressed with the work that was done. They were done in 2 days. They did not cut any corners. A more than adequate cross grid of rebar was laid over the new gravel of the new driveway. When the concrete was poured, they floated the rebar up into the concrete at just the right height. They put in more than enough expansion joints. On the sidewalk, they elevated that part of the sidewalk that abutted the front stoop, thereby making less of a step-up. The driveway almost looks too pretty to drive on. We got more than our money's worth, and I would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone needing concrete work.

Really loved the overall experience. Dan came out promptly to bid and send estimate. They scheduled me about 3 weeks later. Crew works professionally and efficiently. Loved the final product. Had a slight glitch with rain coming down unexpectedly while pouring final patch of cement and Dan tore out and fixed problem without reservation. Everyone who sees it comments on the quality and beauty. Would recommend to anyone .

Dan Wilson, Owner, bid the job personally. He is professional and competent. He was one of four bidders. That was 3/31/17. I signed the bid 4/24/17. The weeks in between were spent emailing back and forth to get the written bid. The written bid was the most professionally written of the ones I received. Price wasn't the lowest but comparable and fair. Bid included tear out and replacement of large driveway (3 across), walkway to porch, downspout under walkway, and conduit under driveway. Work started in early June. Dan said he would personally be on the job and he was. All was going well until cement water started coming into my basement. They used water and saws to cut out 4" into the 8" of concrete sitting on top of the foundation wall the garage sits on as I have a suspended garage. In 30 years of business Dan said this has never happened to him before and I believe him. The very next day he had someone at my house cleaning up the mess in my basement. I was (and am) so appreciative. In the midst of the chaos, they missed installing the conduit under the driveway. We didn't learn about this until later. Dan offered to have a landscape company come in and install the conduit under the new drive. We opted not to do this and Dan refunded that part of our money. The drive and walkway look great. As promised, they came back after ten days to power wash and put down a penetrating sealer on the new concrete. We also hired them to power wash our patio, and apply a top sealer with a stain. It has never looked better. A small amount of the color did get on our house. Dan has two sons that work with him that are as professional as they are polite. They do some of the work and are very, very conscientious. I can't say enough good things about the whole family. Once the driveway was in, we had water come into our basement four times between June and October. They tried several approaches to fixing the problem, including a bid from a foundation company. In the end they cut out 4" of concrete across the front of the garage, around the rebar. Then they poured in tar and let it sit a few days. They put in more tar and then replaced the concrete. It has not leaked since. Communication was very, very slow at times but Dan stood behind his work and did what he said he would do. I would not hesitate to hire him again. Its not always what happens but how you handle it that counts.

at first I thought it was a great job. Ever tipped them $750 but within 3 weeks sections of concrete began flaking off. I have chunks missing. Made numerous call to them, and Dan finally showed up after a year and told me his crew would be out that week. Its now been over a year and a half and the problems still exist. My gutters flow into the under-drive pipe but never exit the far side. My next call is to the BBB and maybe small claims court

Fantastic job (never do this yourself, a professional is absolutely required) - we found a crack after 1-year and Dan himself came out to inspect after we called. Said he would replace the section if it got worse, but has not 2-years in, and the rest has stood the test of time as well.

It couldn't have gone better. They did a beautiful job of removing our old concrete driveway and replacing it with a wonderful new driveway. We also had them tear out and replace some old steps and a sidewalk and pour a new concrete pad around our air conditioning unit. They were so easy to work with and reliable about dates and times. The work they did looks great and we will call them again for any other concrete work that we need to have done. Thank you for doing such a great job!

We needed to have our driveway replaced and had decided to add a brick border along the outside edges to match a brick lined stone sidewalk which had been redone a few years ago. Dan Wilson came out to give us an estimate not long after contacting him. We had obtained a few other estimates but it was an easy decision to use Wilson Concrete. He was courteous and knowledgeable and we believed we could trust him to do the job well. All his employees were friendly and professional as well. Matching our current sidewalk bricks was challenging but he was able to locate and bring in matching bricks from St. Louis. We also requested him to add a stain to the concrete driveway that would go well with out stone sidewalk, which turned out well. We were very happy with the end product. We have received highest compliments from many neighbors and have given out his name several times.

An appointment was scheduled to assess the work and provide us with a proposal. Mr. Wilson personally met us and provided us with a thorough explanation of options. After reviewing all proposals, we had a couple of follow-up questions, which were promptly answered. Based on the damage to the existing driveway, resulting from foundation settling, one contractor had suggested the incorporation of piers; Mr. Wilson did not recommend this approach, since the piers would only add unnecessary cost and result in the increased likelihood of future settling damage, since the piers would essentially act as anchors on the driveway. After approving the proposal, the work was promptly scheduled. The work crew, headed personally by Mr. Wilson and his son, arrived on time...demolishing of the existing structures was completed in about three hours (they even managed to salvage the entire front porch, avoiding additional costly repairs). Framing, rebar support, and a drainage system were all installed on that same day. Mr. Wilson also installed a conduit for underground routing of landscape light wiring at no additional charge. The concrete was poured the following day and all finishing work, including application of the sealant was completed by the end of the day. Some cracking of two sections of the adjacent sidewalk, repaired only last year by the City, was removed and replaced at no additional charge. Following the curing phase, the work crew returned and completed the removal of the framing and installation of fill along the edges to our complete satisfaction. In every aspect, we couldn't have been more pleased with the performance and results. Our new driveway has resulted in compliments from several of our neighbors. My wife and I would highly recommend using Wilson Concrete and Construction for your residential needs!

Waiting for Dan to call you will be a test of your patience. After getting scheduled, the crew showed up on time and got everything done in 2 days. You will need to wait 2 days before you can walk on it and a week before you can drive on it. While you're waiting for the concrete to set, you can pick up the nails left after they take out the forms and their cigarette butts too. The finished work is outstanding -- Wilson Concrete costs more than the others but I feel the quality is worth it - buy it right the first time and you only have to buy it once. I regret I didn't order the fill-in pulverized topsoil to go around the edges of the new driveway and sidewalk. I called Dan once and the office once to get the topsoil after the job was complete but I never heard back from them.

These guys were absolutely wonderful. Worked with Derek Wilson a principal in the business and he was great. This was the only company willing to even look at the unusual request to dig a 4X4X4 hole in the backyard for my tower. All of the work was done very professionally and looks wonderful. This is a true family business. Derek ran the job and worked it as well. Also, on the job was his brother in-law, cousin and his father checked in. No short cuts with this crew. I highly recommend them for your consideration, I know I wouldn't use anyone else.

It went very well - couldn't be better. Despite a rainy week, they got the job done. The workers knew what they were doing, didn't complain even though it was in the high 90's, and completed the work on time. They responded to our questions and did extra work when we asked. We are late in posting this review due to the simple fact that we wanted to make sure it worked. Back story: After 14 yrs in our home we had got to the point during the MO April showers we would have to run sump pumps (3 at one point) to keep the water from flooding our raised ranch home (see pics). We shopped around for almost a year trying to find low cost and good quality. Not an easy task. This past May we had a week of rain straight. The last night we took shifts in sleeping to try and keep the basement from flooding. We lost the battle and took on water in our finished basement. We had enough. I contact Wilson Concrete and Dan was out in a day to talk over plans to stop this from happening. After 3 days with his great crew of guys we had a new driveway. Now we waited for the rain. Finally we got the heavy, you can't see through rain we were looking for. I was never so happy just to watch the rain fall. It never even made it to the garage doors. We have received nothing but compliments and request for Wilson's number from our neighbors. If you have a problem with your driveway you need to contact Wilson Concrete. You will not regret it.

They were fantastic. They returned my initial call promptly; Mr. Wilson came out and looked at what I wanted done, gave me a quote; the price was reasonable; when I accepted the quote he promptly scheduled the work. The workers showed up promptly, they did great work; and the finished product looks fantastic. The work they did was great!!! Dan Wilson, along with his son Derick and their crew, were outstanding! They were prompt, accommodating, professional and very efficient. They also did my neighbor's driveway at the same time and she was also thrilled with the job that they did.
