great job done in a timely manner at a fair price

Rob and his team are truly amazing! They came in and efficiently installed a root block in our backyard on a Thursday. The following Tuesday they returned and installed a drainage system for our backyard with three catch basins and run off into the street. In the front yard they cut the grass into sod pieces before digging the trench and when finished replaced the grass making it almost imperceptible that they had done the job. Rob is an encyclopedia of information about trees and landscaping and he is always willing to share what he knows. I highly, highly recommend hiring him and his team (some of whom have been with him 16 years) He is honest, knowledgeable, and very fairly priced!

I had problems in our back yard with water pooling during heavy rainfall and was concerned about possible flooding of our house and garage.  We have a pool and concrete patio, so I knew this was not going to be an easy fix. <br> <br>Rob came out and spent about 2 hours looking over our situation and talking about options.  After he left, he came up with a single plan with components so we could proceed one step at a time, then wait and evaluate the success of that step or do a number of steps at once.  <br> <br>Since we we were very concerned about the possibility of flooding, we elected to proceed with regrading, adding an exterior drainage line from the garage to the street, replacing an existing line from the house to the street, adding catch basins and re-grading areas around the house and garage. <br> <br>The work was done at the days and times arranged; the crew was very considerate and professional and the work was beautiful.   <br> <br>Most importantly, we have had several very heavy rainfalls and the solutions we had implemented by Works By Rob are performing as well as we had hoped.   We had no accumulation of water and no worries!

Rob and his crew installed a root barrier to protect the back of our house from foundation problems from a large oak tree.  They also added catch basins to existing drainage pipes as well as replacing some piping where needed.  Rob spent a generous amount of time taking a good look at our property, assessing what would work best and answering all of my questions. I was very pleased with the work done and with the people he has on his crew. <br>

The 9 inches of rain from remnants of Patricia gave it the ultimate test and it performed beautifully. Whereas minor rain events caused ponding before, with the new drainage there was barely any standing water even as these heavy rains were ongoing. <br /> The sprinkler system was trickier to fix than anticipated since a previous contractor had accidentally cut the electric lines between the nozzles. Rob and his crew were able to get everything back into working order. <br /> Tree trimming also was handled professionally, as Rob carefully identified which branches needed trimming so as to let in sufficient light for the grass while maintaining the health of the tree. <br />

We have been having water standing near our house for some time now and never thought it would be a problem until one day we noticed water seeping into the house. At this time we knew that we had to take care of the issue. I went on Angies list to look for a provider. I called three different providers based on thier reviews and asked them to come for an estimate. Out of all three Rob was the only one that seemed really concerned that I had water coming into my house so much so that he offered to come quickly so that we can get it taken care of as soon as possible before we have rain in the forecast. The visit was just as pleasant as the phone conversation. His price was right inline with the other contractors. I knew right away that he was my guy for the job. He Explained to me that not having gutters on the house was causing erosion which in turn caused the flooding. He installed gutters and a yard drain to take care of the situation. Him and his guys showed us at the end of the job how the drain works. They ran a water hose in the system to show us that we would not have an issue with flooding anymore. I would Highly recomend him for any project. <br />

They showed up as schedules and completed the job in 2.5 days. I would recommend them to my friends. <br />

I contacted Rob Brundrett to help me solving the standing water problem in my backyard. He came to do the inspection by himself and provided me some suggestions on how to solve the problem economically. I have received quotes from other companies but Rob's proposals were very 'customer friendly' and that's why I decided immediately to give him the contract.  <br /> <br /> About a week later, he called and told me that his crew will start working. It took them about 2.5 days to complete the drainage system installation and to level-up some low spots in my backyard. Rob himself came again to do the final inspection and I was very satisfied with his professionalism. <br /> <br /> Rob Brundrett is very knowledgeable, friendly and more importantly he always tell you the truth and not just trying to get your money. I will definitely recommend him to those who have drainage system issue.

Rob showed tremendous expertise in all aspects of the work. For the root barrier, he knew exactly where to place the system for optimal performance, and adjusted the installation when his crew was surprised to find a buried brick flower bed beneath the dirt. <br /> For the drainage, Rob developed a solution that was far more thorough than what we had planned, and managed to fix parts of our sprinkler system while he was doing the work.  <br /> Rob has superb knowledge and expertise regarding trees and vegetation. This allowed him to ensure that the tree branch trimming was done in a minimalist way that best protected the tree. It also meant he was able to distinguish between trash trees and valuable trees that had been buried beneath vines, and develop sensible plans for how to clean up the landscaping. He also is well aware of environmentally friendly yet affordable approaches and infuses them into his work. <br /> On top of it all, Rob brings a refreshing enthusiasm to all of his work, and a great ability to explain options and recommendations.

Generally very good job.  But I asked him to pull back the mulch from around my live oak tree; he said he would but never did. <br />

<p>Everything went great.  We first had the root barrier done because we had a structural engineer come look at our house and he said the roots from our oak trees and the one from our neighbor was starting to effect our foundation.  I searched different companies on Angie's list and decided to go with Works by Rob.  He had an A rating on Angie's list.  I had also had other companies come out but I felt Rob did the best job with explaining what he was going to do and he was competitively priced and was actually doing more than the other companies.  I met with Rob and he was profession and prompt and explained everything he was going to do.  Rob and his crew installed a root barrier to prevent roots from causing further foundation problems along with a moisture barrier per the recommendation of my structural engineer.  They did a great job and replaced the dirt and grass and cleaned up everything after they were done.  </p> <p>A few weeks later after the big rain we had, I called Rob about a drainage problem we were having.  We had already had drains installed but they were not functioning properly.  Rob and his crew came out and accessed the situation.  Rob determined what the problems were and he redid most of our drainage system.  Rob and his crew worked really hard at digging trenches and laying new pipes and installing drains in key areas of our yard along with properly routing the huge amount of water we had coming off our roof and going out through our gutters.  Rob explained everything he was doing each step of the way.  He cleaned up after everything was done and even went the extra mile and did a few other things that were not originally discussed.  We had another big rain recently and everything worked well and drained like it should. </p> <p>I would certainly use Works by Rob again and will highly recommend them to others.  Rob and his crew were great and did a fantastic job with both the root barrier and the drains.  Rob also does gutters and replacing and fixing of roofs and I will certainly be calling him again when I need new gutters or a new roof.</p> <p>Thanks Rob for all you did!!!</p>
