My husband and I are selling our house and wanted to have the windows done on both floors, and also have the wall to wall carpet cleaned in our large master bedroom, prior to the first open house. Our realtor at the Sivel Group, part of Berkshire Hathaway, recommended Bells Professional Services. We sent an email and requested an appointment for the job. We received an almost immediate email back, and in turn made the appointment for today, October 16, 2015 at ten o'clock.
Two very nice young men, Stan and Marvin arrived and went right to work after we had a nice conversation with them. So many times, when one is having something like this done in ones home, it can be a bit of a turmoil. However, we absolutely enjoyed having them here. They were certainly professional in every way, but both of them have such wonderful personalities, we actually had fun, and all of us found ourselves laughing out loud on more than one occasion. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone needing windows cleaned.
I think we are going to request them to come back and clean our sectional sofa prior to our moving out of this house. We look forward to seeing them again. Thanks Stan and Marvin for making our lives easier during this very busy time in our life.
We had some items on back order. The guy we were dealing with got sick and the work took about a month to complete. They did a good job working with us and letting us upgrade the package. They did not charge us the difference since the work took so long. They did some extra work on the plumbing and moved it around. They did more work than what we thought they would.

The sketches were EXCELLENT, and if that is all you need they are the place to go. They seemed very busy when I wanted to make modifications, and when I visited, but in their defense they were just moving into a new space. Their estimate for the work was comparatively high and we decided to go with another firm for the actual construction,.
The technician came, did an inspection, and found multiple safety concerns (which I knew were there) and worked with me to quickly rewire the basement and ground the whole electrical system. He was very professional and communicated well with me throughout the process.
Sadly I got what I paid for...

There were gaps in between bath fixtures and wall and a sloppy attempt was made to caulk but gaps remained. Extremely bad spackle jobs on the walls and ceiling. Spackle was not sanded down properly and the seams are noticeable on the wall. To avoid finishing the grout on the floor, the vanity was installed over the part not grouted however the vanity does not reach the floor and incomplete work is noticeable. Exhaust fan stopped working and recently the bolt on toilet has become lose causing the toilet to shift. It was less then a year ago when this work was completed. I now have to hire a company to correct their mistakes. Poor communication with the owner. Requested additional services but did not receive (but also did not pay for). No one followed up to check completed work or my satisfaction. So many issues...to little space and time. Maybe they got overwhelmed with work and I got the short end of the stick.

The provider didn't want to go up and check my system. It was a tight squeeze but it needed to be checked. The did put a protecting pipe around any wires coming out of the house to make sure the squirrels that I have would damage them. They also cleaned out the outside portion of the AC. They explained to me that going into the attic was not needed. For an extra $600 charge on top of this deal I believe they should have done it.

Brian came to the house and perform all repairs as stated above. The seller paid all repairs.
The Seller paid $1724.00 (see below as part of the HUD - 1 of closing). Please note that the amount the seller paid was higher than the estimate because the seller paid for all repairs prior to me purchasing the home. The plumbing fixes were done first, and remainding money was provided available to the AC company. Checks were already made by the time the estimate was received.
HUD - 1

1308. Tax Service to Stars $ $85.00 P.O.C.(L*)

1309. Flood Cert to Stars $19.50

1310. Plumbing to Vincent Gofferado Plumbing 1,100.00

1311. HVAC to Work Services 1,724.00
The AC was fix prior to closing on the house. Bought the house on August 2012.
Contacted Brian and told him there was an overpayment. Brian stated he would send me the difference.
No money received. Agent stated the seller did not receive the difference either.
Fast forward to July 18, 2013:
The following is an excerpt from an EMAIL i sent to the sellers agent so they can avoid hiring Works.
"Hey how are you! Hope all is good.
This is just an FYI if you ever need HVAC work done you wont hired Works Services. the estimate attached that seller paid for regarding the 2nd unit, well about 2 weeks ago I was having issues with the unit, blowing hot air, not cooling. A new company came out today. AC had no freeon, its leakng and the coils maybe bad.
Company that came out is called Genesio Company 215-364-9010.
So right now I have to re-pay for the same repairs as the seller paid.
Again this is an FYI so you can stay away from Works services.
Thanks! and hope all is good. Also, do you know the likely hood of obtaining a refund for the work perform from works services?
not sure if their work has warranty and for how long. or if it would be a lost cause on my end to pursue them. Thanks again and again hope all is well. Besides this AC issue, the house is still in working order :) and again this is just and FYI just in case your customers are in need of an AC guy, please do not contact or hire Works Services."
Before I called Genesio I called Brian and Works so they can come back out and look into my issue with the AC.
No answer from Brian, called Works, and someone just responded with "Hello" told him that my AC was not working, he took my information and said he would pass it on to Brian. No call for a week. Decided to call Genesio and I am happy I did. Since then I been calling Works to try to get a refund since it has been less than a year and I now had an issue with the same AC they fixed; FYI per the webiste of Works, it notes a 1 year warranty on the services provided.
From Brian at Works, this is what the 2nd united needed: attic unit unit has no freon in system at all( this will require to do a leak test nitrogen) $225.00 if leak found on line set and repairable system will need to be vacuumed and charged $425. 00 unit probably has a leak in system unit has debree and dirt issues and needs to be cleaned out $225.00 unit has broken secondary pan below it $125.00 unit has improper PVC drain set up causing pressure on secondary pan $125.00
Witin 11 months I had to call another company.
The AC was fixed by Genesio Company 215-364-9010. So far so good (as of August 19, 2013) the date of this review.
Genesio noted that the leak was not fixed. Freon was low. system was clean. Total of new bill was $500.00 paid to Genesio.
Thanks to Genesio so far so good.
PS sorry for any confusion / grammar issues with this review.
The final product was wonderful. They knew what they were doing, and it turned out even better than we imagined. The costs also stayed around the estimate. Arranging for a time to do the work was another story. I got the impression that at the time they had more business than they had employees to handle. As a result, it took a lot of pestering to get things started. Those months of making phone calls are my major but only complaint with the company and the experience. Once they set a start and finish date, they completed the work on time.
They were very thorough. They found things that needed to be done outside of the tune up. I believe I needed these things done to my A/C system. They were very pleasant to deal with.

Punctual and professional. We bought a big deal and didn't need it, so they applied that cost to the work performed.
$6,199
As stated above, we paid a total of $6,199 & it appears this company went out of business, without telling us. However, they may be back in business - we cannot tell. Mr. Stride (Kenny), stopped responding to any calls or e-mails sometime in February, 2013. Although it was one of WorksServices' former employee's who was kind enough to let us know about the first 'out of business' event - we just got fed-up wasting our time trying to contact Works Services, Inc..

The experience was outrageous - Kenny had constant excuses for not responding & then when his employees did not show when scheduled, he blamed them & acted surprised. Works Services marketing person Brian also behaved like Kenny - when available - actually, Brian was a tad more available than Kenny, but both were skilled 'dodge' artists. Ultimately they did not complete the job & the work completed was done poorly, with a 'too bad for you' attitude.

What did we get for $6,199? We have a tub, (no tub plumbing), a working toilet - we paid for a power flush & did not get one. We do have a functional sink, however we paid for a medicine cabinet & voila! A mirror was installed instead. We have no tub or electrical fixtures, although the dangling light bulbs provide partial lighting & oh yes, no toilet paper holder & all of the tile work grout is cracking, with a threshold which has a 1/2 inch grout seam - there is a ton more, however the list is too long to continue.

As we learned from other late-entry Angie's List reviewers of Works Services, Inc, like us - we constantly had to beg these guys with the hopes that they would turn around. As a result we were reasonable with Kenny & Brian throughout our dealings with them - our mistake! Angie's List even tried to help & they were unable to produce results. We are in the process of hiring another contractor - through recommendations we can trust.

We do not blame Angie's List - however, we are most nervous about any more 'Big Deals' -
It did not go very well. I had them come out for the AC Tune Up and all they did was upsell the big deal and tell me all the things that were wrong. I can't remember how much they ended up charging me but what made me the most upset is that they were to do follow up work on a certain date and they never came out. They were unresponsive and at this point not helpful with fixing what they started.

Excellent - Came on time, was polite, neat, efficient, and best of all did not try to tell me that there was something wrong so that he could upsell the service. Wonderful experience.
