I bought Vinyl flooring and installation from this company. Huge mistake!! Extremely POOR quality installation and frustrating experience. First the measurer did a pathetic job resulting in short material! Then Installation(outsourced) was unbelievably rude and unprofessional. The supervisor bullied around the house forcing me to quickly move my stuff right away so they could finish up the job in 1 day (was previously scheduled to be done in 2-3 days). All said the material ran short. They kept me hanging for over 2 months and after many many follow up calls the job was finally re-scheduled. Guess what, no show! I had to call another 2-3 times to get the guy to come back and finish the job. Even now, few stairs have un-even Vinyl stair noses. On calling, they have now scheduled a third round of repeat work to fix/finish this darn Vinyl flooring installation! DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT buy your flooring from Worldwide Wholesale Floor Covering. These guys will rip the peace out of your life and keep you hanging with an incomplete job for months!! Leave aside really really bad finish/quality.

We went to WorldWide in Edison to purchase carpeting for our nursery. Irina was the sale associate that helped us. We were clueless, as we had never purchased carpeting before. After we described what was important to us, she helped us find the carpeting that suited our needs. She explained everything thoroughly every step of the way, and answered all of our questions. Compared to other prices we'd found online, it was very reasonably priced as well. When it came time for the install, Diego and his team (Fabricio and Luis) were great! They were kind and polite, but, most importantly, extremely hard working and efficient! We'd been told it would take about 2 hours for everything (removal of the old carpet and padding, clean up of the old stuff, new carpet and padding install, clean up). It took 10 minutes top for all the old stuff to be taken out and removed, and the install and clean up was less than an hour. They did a really nice job of cleaning up as well. We couldn't be happier. We'll definitely be using World Wide again for any future flooring projects.

Unbelievable! Everything went better than perfect. From the sales experience to the completed job. The craftsmen who did the job were true artisans. The store displays were extremely helpful as well as were the sales staff and management. I would never even consider going anywhere else for flooring after this. By the way, we originally had contracted with Empire (as you can see from one of my prior reviews). That did not work out at all. I am so glad we tried Worldwide.

I thanked the guy that installed it and indicated how passionate he was in his work. I expected two guys to come and only one guy came. That one guy did such a great job I had to make a comment after he finished. He is so passionate about his work. The price is good for what I have seen some of these other people want to charge. Some come in and want to charge you to move furniture and that is not like Worldwide. They told me what time they would be here and the guy was there. They call to say they are on the way. He kept his word.

The initial purchasing process went smoothly and the salesperson was informative and answered all my questions.  Once an installation date was chosen, the two installation technicians arrived on time.  They were very careful with relocating large pieces of furniture to other areas in the home.  Removal of the old padding and carpeting went smoothly and everything was taken out of the house and later removed from the premises.  Installation of the new pads and carpets was fast, yet it was thorough.  The carpet technicians Don and his helper, were considerate and courteous at all times.  When it was time for the technicians to leave, the large furniture pieces had been moved back to their original positions and the entire house was left clean and with no debris.   <br /> I was very satisfied with the professionalism of this company. <br />

Steer clear of World Wide Flooring.  Their customer service representatives, particularly Rita Gobler, will say anything to get you to purchase their services.  Rita is an excellent salesman but that is where the service stops.  My wife and I purchased a new home and had ordered new carpeting and flooring from World Wide just shy of $10k.  Working with this company has been a nightmare. <br /> To begin with, the person who took our measurements measured too much so we ended up paying for way more carpet than we needed.  After that, the people who came to install the Hardwood floor (Engineered Fire Brick, if you?re interested) came out and did a lousy job.  They left gaps between the wood planks, staples sticking up out of the floor and large gaps in their shoty <br /> shoe-moudling.  On top of that, they didn?t even finish the job and told us we?d have to schedule a time for them to <br /> return. <br /> When I went back in to complain and had pictures to prove it, I was told a manager would come out and was assured ?everything would be made right? by Rita and her store?s manager.  I can tell you that when the installation manager was supposed to come <br /> out they sent someone else instead.  On top of that, he himself chipped my floor when he kicked a mat out of the way to <br /> look at the gaps I mentioned.  I had no idea that the floor would be this cheap nor that they would be so careless and <br /> difficult to deal with. <br /> When I called back to complain the woman, Trish Shannon, merely listened and took notes and said she?d have to schedule a time for the manager to come out.  She then called me, after hours and left me a message, knowing I couldn?t call back to talk to her that night.  Since I work during the week, I pushed for a Saturday that they would not come out for.  <br /> So today, my wife and I met with Phil Ganes, the installation manager Joe, and his worker Sergio (whom by the way was the guy <br /> who chipped my floor).  They assured me that Serigo would finish the work today and unless ?an act of God? (Phil?s <br /> words) stopped him.  When I asked if Sergio could do it in time or if they needed someone else, they again assured <br /> me it?d be taken care of.  I can tell you that Sergio just left my house today at 5:30 and told me he has to come back tomorrow for an additional 6 hours of work.  This is unacceptable.  Now my wife has to take off another day of work?  And, since we had to tape off my kitchen to avoid getting saw dust in our food we cannot even eat! I left a message for Phil seeking to be compensated for <br /> everything we?ve had to deal with and have yet to hear back. <br /> World Wide came highly recommended to me and maybe they?re <br /> not all bad, but take it from me, steer clear of World Wide in Edison.  I am completely beside myself with anger. <br /> <br /> <br />

The job went really well from initial contact with Karen at the Edison store through installation by Antonio on 1/17 to a return of two unopened flooring boxes on 1/19.  They were all professional and punctual. <br />

.Next day, one young guy showed up. He said that it was a small job and didn't need two men.   I should have sent him away as soon as he began laying out the wood in the wrong direction.  Then he laid out the wood from the wrong end of the room. When we told him that the wood needed to start from the open tiled area and not the window area, he was angry. He told us we should have let him know. I said that he was the expert and should have known it.  We should have sent him away then as well!    <br /> He switched the direction of the wood but was angry.  He began nailing the wood but didn't butt the wood joint to joint. Finally he left but there were gaps along the wall. I called the company. They apologized and sent two men in today. These men fixed most of the mistakes but there is no way to correct the spaces between the ends of the boards without tearing out all the wood.  The men today left me some putty to fill in cracks. That will take me hours. <br /> The wood itself is beautiful but now I found out by calling Bruce (he company that makes the wood) that it is very low quality, that the its urethane is not the quality that I was told it was and that the boards are not milled to be even.  I would never use Worldwide again for a purchase or for installation because they lied.

We hired them to remove old carpeting to our master bedroom. In its place would be a new wooden floor. They were prompt, friendly and installed our floor in a few hours. it was perfect and still looks great today. We plan to use them for some tile installation for our newly renovated kitchen. We found the floor and kitchen tiles we needed from their store. They have a great selection in a big store. It is worthwhile to give them a visit. <br />

They were very good until the installation.  I had a flood in my family room and I had carpeting so I pulled all the carpeting out.  I ordered wood flooring and I have a bar in the family room so I have a curvature and I'm still waiting.  I am now four and a half months in and I'm still waiting for them to finish my floor.  Needless to say I'm not really happy, they cant find the proper cove to go around the bar so there's a space there.  One of the installation guy when he came in broke my back door because he doesn't know how to close it and he just left.  When I called they said they would fix and pay for it but it turns out my brother was able to come and fix the floor.  As of right now I'm still waiting, they're suppose to come next week again to finish the floor which obviously I am not happy about.  This project started on February.

Overall the service went very poor. We still have issues we are working with. They covered over electrical units and we have issues with the flooring. We had it inspected by one of their people and that person confirmed there were issues. The experience has not been very good at all.

First, don't be fooled by their advertising claiming that they have "no hidden fees."  The commercials claim that removal of your old carpet is included -- it was not.  I paid an extra $117 for rip up & removal of my old carpet in preparation for the installation of the hardwood floor I purchased.  There was also a $50 fee for having someone measure the room. There was another charge for installing the shoe molding (which is white plastic & does not match the floor -- $130).  Another charge for something called "Soundmaster Plus Underlay" ($149.04) So, the closeout flooring I bought with a quoted price of $1.59/square foot  ($2.75 installed) (total of $325.55 for the floor plus $495 for  "click & float install") actually cost $1058.97 (including $85.51  tax).  I then was charged an additional $174 before the floor was installed (this was applied after the room was "professionally" measured, even though the estimated size I gave them when I ordered the floor was larger than the room's actual measurements.  Still not sure what that charge was for or how it was arrived at).  Grand total: $1232.97 <br /> On installation day the contractors arrived within the time frame I was given & got to work. I was a bit surprised to see boxes of small strips of wood, not the long pieces one would expect.  It was clear these were leftovers from a previous job.  It was the correct floor & was in perfectly fine condition, so I didn't let it bother me. All was going well until they ran out of flooring!  They were 2 boxes short of what they needed to finish the room -- even though Worldwide had someone come & do a professional measurement (which carries an extra fee).  They had no choice but to leave the job unfinished.  Then things got even more upsetting, <br /> Calling Worldwide resulted in being given the runaround until we finally reached someone claiming to be in charge.  He said he would call back.  A few hours passed with no return call.  Numerous calls from our end were ignored until finally this fellow said he would find additional stock to get the job finished.  Again, he said he would call us back.  Again, he did not, nor did he return numerous voice mails.  After getting the runaround for a few days he finally said he had located additional stock & the job would be scheduled for completion the following week, exactly one week from the day the job was started (meanwhile, my office furniture was stuck in the living room).   <br /> Following week, no call from Worldwide with a time frame for the arrival of the  contractors to finish the job.  Called Worldwide & they said my job was not on the schedule.  After another round of unanswered phone calls to the manager who was "helping" us we finally got the job scheduled -- for the next week.  So, now my office furniture is stuck in the living room for 2 full weeks. <br /> Needless to say, since the job was finished with flooring from a different dye lot the boards are not an exact match.  It is very close and I am happy with the way the room finally looks (and the contractor who finished the job was quick, thorough, put the furniture back & even offered to help hang the closet doors back up) but this was much more of a  hassle than any customer should be expected to take, not to mention it cost a lot more than the advertising would lead one to expect.  Overall, although the floor looks beautiful I do not think I would use Worldwide again, nor would I recommend them. <br /> <br />

They were having a Memorial weekend sale and I am renovating my home. I bought approximately 3,000 sq. ft. of solid hardwood flooring.They worked with me on the price to ensure it was the best possible cost. They also were able to deliver it exactly when I wanted it. I used my own installers.We are partially through the install and the floor is unbelievable!

First, they measured the carpet wrong.  They then had to come back, and wanted to charge us another $1,000 for their mistake.  The ended up not charging the additional $1,000.  The shutters were not ordered when we were told they were, which ended up taking an additional 3 months of our time.  Less than a year after they were finished we the trim started to fall off some of the windows.  We called them to fix it, and they told us they would fix it, however, we would have to be charged a service call, after paying them $15,000.

The salesmanship at the showroom was professional and it was stipulated at the time of my purchase that the job needed to be done before Christmas. That was part of the deal and they assured me it would be no problem. They made me pay in full before anything was scheduled and promised us, once again, that it was only "one day worth of work", that there crews worked fast, no problem finishing before xmas. The morning of installation, there were no workers at our house so we called Universal and they said that their crew would be there in the afternoon. They finally showed up after 2 pm. So not only were they late, there were only two workers to do the job; one experienced installer (a tall, thin, somewhat young, Central American man with bad teeth) and one helper. I was dubious that they would finish by the end of the day but let them get to work. I even asked them directly if they could finish and they claimed that they would. Lo and behold, at about 6 pm, as my family was sitting down to dinner, the workers informed us that they would not finish tonight but would be back tomorrow to complete the work. That's fine I said. <br /> So my wife took off another day from work to stay home again for our installation and by noon, still no one had showed up. We called Universal and inquired about our installers whereabouts to which they responded that crew had to go to a previously scheduled apppointment for today and that it was Worldwides'  policy, when work is not finished as planned, to have the client reschedule the completion of the work for some later date. They said the installer should not have told us he would be back the next day. I was furious. They had ripped up all the carpet on both staircases and only laid a quarter of what was needed to be installed. This whole miscommunication, I soon found out, was in part due to the fact that the installer who worked on our stairs, lied to their manager and claimed I told them to leave which was why they did not complete their job! I asked Worlwide why I would dismiss anyone from a job that I needed so badly done; it was Dec. 23rd and we were about to welcome family members staying with us for the holiday. <br /> So Worldwide sent another installer; this time one single worker. He arrived, looked at our partly finished job and said he needed more padding and could only offer to try and finish the job tomorrow. So, turns out we had a carpet installer at our home until 6 pm on xmas eve, while our guests were arriving for a party. <br /> Long story short; Worldwide hires outside subcontractors for their installation. You never know what you're going to get and then when things do go wrong, they have little or no control over their work staff. Also, beware of that tall, dark, and not-so-handsome carpet crew..... <br /> <br />

I've used them several times.  They are good.  I did have to go back to them about a price issue, but they are very good.  They come in and do their thing and finish really well.

The people who came out were good. They came in and measured. I had carpets installed two years ago throughout my house. They sent somebody out again last year. I had a carpet installed in December on my kitchen floor. I have used their services within the last three years. So, I am very satisfied with their work. When I looked for my carpet in my living room, I also thought of getting my kitchen done. So, they said that they would measure all of it at once, but they did come out a second time. It was about a year and a half later. It cost me about $1100 for the last job. I think they were a little expensive, but they have a whole range of prices you can choose from. So, the price for the last job was in the middle of the road. Their work was excellent. I had no problems with their responsiveness and it was good. Their punctuality was good too and their professionalism was excellent. I would use their services in the future too.

I liked the carpeting they provided. My husband and I were very disturbed about the service. They broke my filing cabinets and they left marks on our kitchen floor from dragging our furniture across our tile floor. I'm not really sure they did the greatest job on the seam. They refused to use any kind of booties on our floor. They used the old carpets to wipe their feet with. It was 25 year old carpet and when you get brand new carpet you don't think you're going to get stuff tracked in from the outside. There was a lot of dirt on the floor a substantial distance from the door that they tracked in from outside. There were no stains on the carpet, but they just absolutely refused to use booties in the house. My husband was very upset. They put things in places that you should put things, you should have respect for people. They were throwing things in the dish drain that you shouldn't. Maybe we just weren't prepared but if that was the case they could have said something. They also arrived 2-3 hours late. My husband had to take off another day from work because they came late. They worked until midnight, they didn't come until 11:30 and left at midnight. They also didn't really want to move the furniture back either, that is part of the service called VIP service. They were tired and wanted to just leave my heavy file cabinet in my bathroom. Maybe it's dramatic, but I was just traumatized by the experience. I like the carpet, it's a nice quality and because of the scotch guarding I was able to vacuum the dirt off. It seems to repel dirt well. They work with contractors to install the carpet.

Over a year and a half span I went to them for 7 rooms of carpet. Their price is excellent. They do everything they say they are going to do. Their installers know what they are doing. They are very much on schedule. I am very happy with them.

It was pretty easy overall. Purchased a carpet during their Labor Day sale and were able to get a much better rug based on speaking with one of their salesman who steered us in the right direction. The price was a lot cheaper than the estimates we received from Lowes and Empire Flooring. They phoned us 2 days later to set up an installation and had our carpet installed 5 days later. They hauled away the old carpet, and made sure once the carpet was installed, that they vacuumed afterwards. All in all the installation process took about 5 hours. Would highly recommend.

They did a nice job installing the carpet. The installation guys were perfect and they worked hard. I had a patterned rug so they really had to work long and hard to get that right. I was happy with their service and the price was comparable to others.

Since I told them I wanted to wait until September to install my flooring, the sales lady has called and called me about the floors. I am questioning my order now. I had ordered a rug from them too, and they delivered it but they just propped it up against my door in the open. I had to find someone to move it in for me as it was to heavy. It stayed there for two days.

The saleswoman was very good and very patient. We were very nervous with putting floors down. We had a Formica floor put down by another company about 6 years ago. She was sensitive to this. The floors were installed nicely. The quality of the product does not seem to be as good as the cost. We told the woman that we have plastic casters. She told us that was OK. That we should just not move in them while seated. We haven't. I am not seeing pockmarks and scrapes in the floor. When they sent the installer out they told me it was nails. They filled it in with wood putty. He also told me dents were coming from the chairs. I called the store up, they sent someone else.

I had a bit of a hard time initially, because the flooring was found to be damaged before it left the warehouse (b/t/w this was discovered BEFORE the flooring was delivered to my house and my salesman even went to the warehouse to verify the problem). I had to wait over two months for a new shipment to arrive in the warehouse. In all fairness, they did offer me the opportunity to switch to another floor; it was my choice to wait it out. During the wait, my salesman resigned and I had to make a number of phone calls to find out a status of my order. However, one of the managers agreed to handle my account personally. They were going to give me a credit on my order because of the confusion, but I opted to have more expensive molding, which I only paid 1/2 price for. I thought this was an acceptable resolution. Boy, am I glad I waited for the wood I had originally ordered. The floor is absolutely beautiful! The molding is perfect and the installers even filled in the nail holes. They spent almost 12 hours completing the installation and I couldn't be more pleased with the way the floor turned out.
