About us

We are a small business with two full time employees and one part time employee, we do all of our work, I do not subcontract in any way. All employees are covered with workers compensation insurance. We are a Virginia licensed Class C contractor # 2705075057. Our business license is in York County, Va. We service the local areas; York, Hampton, Newport News, Williamsburg, James City County, Poquoson and Gloucester. We are covered with business liability insurance. We offer free estimates, we take all major credit cards, we accept cash and checks (preferred), payment is expected when the job is finished, we do not bill. We guarantee all of our work. We specialize in carpentry work, we install doors and windows, we replace rotten wood with PVC, we repair sheetrock, decks, siding, flooring and water damage. We remodel baths and install ceramic tile. We replace electrical fixtures and plumbing fixtures. Our rates are $92.00 an hour and for less than 6 hours work we have a service charge of $92.00. Recently I realized that people were leaving messages for me on this website, I am sorry I did not respond to you and will try to check the message board more often.. 2/18/2019 I just found out Angies List is sending me text messages with customer leads for estimates. I am so pleased with the work that was done on my home. Jim came out for the estimate which I thought was a fair quote. His crew were amazing. They were prompt, efficient, knowledgeable, professional and they did quality work. This was by far my best experience ever with a handyman service. Everything went well. Needed help as, while the install isn't exactly complex, I don't have all the necessary tools/accessories to install in tall garage ceiling. Rep came out to survey area for installation and determine any details, as well as provide rough estimate. Crew came out few days later and installed rack without any issue. Will be contacting for a repeat of same with another storage rack.

It went very well! The employee showed up a little early and once he saw exactly what he was doing, he called someone to come help him. They were very nice and did exactly what we asked (which is not easy to put used cubicles together when you haven't seen what they're supposed to look like). The only thing I found unusual was that the company asked us to take pictures of the desks and did not share them with the employees. Overall, the employees were nice and completed the job. And they were on time!

Josh and Eddy arrived on time (actually a week early as they had an unexpected opening in their schedule). They looked at the safety bar and hand grip bar that I had purchased and examined the shower/tub space. We discussed what the position (height and slant) of where the bars should be. Once that was determined, the ceramic tiles were measured and marked. Placement was rechecked. The holes were drilled. During drilling a small vacuum was used to gather the dust and debris from the ceramic tiles. My tiles were not chipped or cracked. The bars were screwed into the wall and the area was rechecked for any needed clean up. An Angie's List discount was applied to my bill. On the way out, they stopped and readjusted a slanted pot light in my kitchen and a cabinet door which was scrapping the ceiling whenever it was opened. All of this was done within 30 minutes. Josh and Eddy were respectful of my home, paid great attention to details, and were very pleasant to talk with. I will rely on Yorktown's Handyman to complete any needed home repairs and improvements.

Jim was particularly responsive to my plight when I realized the scope of the work was beyond my ability after I attempted it on my own. Josh and Eddie arrived early as requested and completed work the same day. Very professional, cleaning up as they went after each step. Extremely pleased with the quality of workmanship. They even provided a few tips and tricks for drywall patching that every homeowner should know. Very much looking forward to the next project. Thank you!

Border was difficult to remove, but the tech did his best without damaging the walls. The three doors look great, although the top of the pediment over my front door didn’t get painted. I didn’t notice that until the next day, but I got up there and cleaned it myself, so it isn’t that noticeable.

Josh and his assistant did a wonderful job putting our kitchen back together after a water leak. Many repairs were needed and they did it all! They always showed up early each morning to get the job done. Josh is professional, friendly and most importantly does really great work. I felt at ease that the job would be done right. Excellent results. Josh installed both railings in one day and did an outstanding job. He worked non stop. One of the things I really liked is how he was able to visualize what I wanted and construct it perfectly. We discussed different aspects of how I wanted it to look during construction and he incorporated them without any problems. I will definitely hire this company again for any other jobs I need done. You won't be disappointed hiring them.

Very pleased with the results I received from Yorktown's Handyman - Josh arrived on time with a positive attitude, and got to work right away. Josh was able to replace all four covers (three at second story level, one at first story level) in almost an hour - if I had the right parts on hand that did't require some added work, I'm sure it would have been done in an hour. I plan on bringing him back for further work. Professional, friendly, with good results!

They do a really good job. Their price also includes materials too, they went out and bought the materials too. They bought the $500 storm door. They also provided the parts, it was materials and labor. They're very responsive.
