A friend recommended Nir (the contractor), after the house we just bought started to fall apart. Much of the house was just destroyed. Nir came in and said something like, I will fix your house and make it better than what you bought. And he did. He is professional and kind. <br />    Water line in one part of house had broken, due to high water pressure ( we had not yet moved in). Then a sewerage back up, due to improperly installing sewerage pipes. 4 in. plastic pipes with no valves, instead of 6 in. ABX. There was galvanized pipe directly attached to copper pipes, so also water leaks in the walls. And it goes on and on. <br />   Since so much had to be replaced, elected to also update some of the house. <br />    2 new bathrooms, which are beautifully done. Nir is so good at design, recommendations and what may look good. Made a powder room I would never have imagined and introduced me to Venetian Plaster/paint.  <br />  He got an electrician to replace 13 yr old electric panel that had already started sparking/going bad. That led to new recessed lights and fire/CO2 alarm system, new light fixtures and etc. <br />    Fixed all the walls, replaced wood floors and so on that Service Masters had had to pull up or remove. The wood floors are beautiful. His crew were really good. <br />    There is more, but now the house is great and so happy with the work done. It all took about a year +. I would highly recommend Nir, this company to rehab, update or redesign your house. <br />   The sewer line was done by another company. Whole sewerage system out to street had to be replaced. So yes also city permits and inspectors. By the way, the problem with sewerage system was easily visible if you looked. <br />   An aside:   Please hire your own home inspector who answers only to you, when buying property. Was a huge mistake in this case. Learned a very valuable lesson. Previous owners, did not do upkeep in at least 9 years. Had a good handyman to make it look good for sale.

See above. I did meet with a company representative on 4/17/15. He  made a slight allowance in the price- but part of the mess is still there, and further work needs to be done to correct the lack of pavers- due to faulty concrete pouring. I will have others make the necessary repairs so the gazebo is properly displayed. This firm will not be allowed on my property again. It was almost 4 weeks when a company person visited and I showed him pictures of the way his people abandoned the job site.

Everyone was just great, words can not express how special everyone made me feel. Starting with Stella and mike who took me by the hand and put me on a pedestal making me feel like very confident with the company I chose to Jose and the crew who were very patient and courteous, arriving early in the morning and working very hard every day to get the job done. They did not rest for a second and on a daily basis you can see obvious progress and results. I love the wonderful bathroom they have built for me it has everything that I ever wanted and dreamed of, the colors and tiles used are just so relaxing to me with a jacuzzi tub and shower for two. I just can't wait to get back home from work to my private little spa retreat. These guys mean business and I admire their enthusiasm about the project on such a personal level. Thank you guys so much for everything you have done .... Mike, Stella , Jose you guys are the best!!!!

<p>When we decided to expand our kitchen by bumping out a portion of the back wall of our 2 story home, we interviewed several contractors, including Mike with United Builders  (Your Favorite Contractor).</p> <p>Mike brought a wealth of construction and design experience that helped us to quickly work out our design. He was personable and professional with a focus on customer service.</p> <p>Although construction is still in progress, the work has proceeded at a good pace. Nir, who is in charge of our job, stays on top of any issues and is very responsive.</p> <p>The workers arrive early, work hard all day and do an excellent job. Nir is experienced and helpful with site/design issues. He and his team are genuinely concerned with customer satisfaction.</p> <p>We are happy with our choice of contractors and recommend them. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> </p>

I called in after seeing an ad for free 3D design and I was greeted by Stella which was just so welcoming and after a brief conversation regarding what I would like done in my home she set up an appointment with Mike, one of the designers. On that day Mike arrived on time and we started discussing what I wanted for my bathroom and then Mike pulled out his computer and started working on the design while showing me every step and making great suggestions. Not long after he showed me the original design idea that I had and the new one that he recommended side by side and I got chills just looking at what he had come up with. When I asked him how much it would cost he took a long hard look at me and said "a million", paused and then laughed. We are not there yet he went on and explained the process of the bathroom remodel, permits, code requirements and everything that I would want and need to do during the process. He was very patient answered all my questions and then he asked "would you like to hear the price?" I was a bit nervous because I met other contractors that just came in and took a brief look then gave me an astronomical price. When I heard Mikes price I was pleasantly shocked and relieved it was much lower than I thought. We then set a date to go shopping at the show room and a project start date. It was all very exciting and I can't wait for the project to start we have a set date to start Feb 2. I will definitely update and add to this review very soon

We're still in the middle of construction, but all is going very well. Workers arrive first thing in the am and work hard all day long. Visible progress hourly almost! The foreman and the Contractor Nir ,check on the progress regularly. So far we are very pleased and happy we found such a great contractor. Would highly recommend "Your Favorite Contractor" with very personable Nir at the helm! <br /> **New Response: Work Completed 02/06/2015** We had never had any association with a contractor before, being DIYers ourselves but we had a big job to do so we found Nir of United builders.  From the start he was up front, reasonable price, open to our ideas with plenty of advise and very responsive.  The first day the workers showed up at 8am sharp, and we didn't think that would last but we are nearing completion and they have been here every work day at 8am sharp, even some days waiting outside from 7:30. We have had a couple of things that we didn't like or didn't look right once it was done and they fixed it right away. The contractor Nir is always just a phone call away, always answers his phone and will come to the house at a moments notice if you have a problem or just need help with a decision, he always comes with a great attitude, friendly and a sense of humor.  The workers don't slack off either, they go all out all day from 8 to 5, clean up behind themselves, bring their lunch, and get right back to work. They are very respectful of you as the House owner and will stop work and turn off machinery if you suddenly show up and need to discuss something or just check on progress. Over all we have had an amazingly un-stressful and positive experience and after hearing remodel nightmares, I'm thinking we were Extremely lucky finding Nir and his group. I'll report back when it's all finished but so far so very good!

<p>After receiving  home improvement magazine in the mail, my husband and I decided that it was time we had our bathroom remodeled. We had called a few companies and one of them just happened to be "your Favorite  Contractor", with a name like that how could you not want to call. We called them up to set up an appointment and had a time set for a design consultation. We met with Mike the head designer and let me tell you, I was delighted by the ideas and suggestion he had come up with, as opposed to others he listened to what we wanted and just tweaked the design to make it more user friendly, even the price was appealing. we then set a date to start and two weeks later we had a completed new bathroom that we just love. Thank you Mike for all our hard work you deserve an A+ </p> <br />

I'm so Happy to say everything went nice and smooth and I was very pleased with the design and price. However I had to see another contractor to compare and I ended up choosing Mike with Your Favorite Contractor. Everything turned out great!!!! I don’t usually like to do these things but my word is my bond an did promised Mikey that if he finished the work on time for the holiday then yes I would give a fantabulous review. <p>It all started with a dream of remodeling my little kitchen, we bought the house four years ago when the market was still tough and we knew that slowly we would make a little dream home. My husband and I kept talking about it and as we watched the HGTV shows we were kind of pushed back by the high prices for kitchens. When we finally adjusted we were able to put some money aside and we started to interview contractors for our kitchen remodel, let me tell you it is not easy. Out of four companies we got four sales reps, not one was a contractor. Every one of them saying “Sure, don’t worry about details we will get to it later, but if you sign on the first meeting you get a hefty discount!!!!”. Then they come with a price that was higher than what we saw and read about on TV and internet. Hello, I want a contractor not a young foreigner trying to make a quick commission. </p> <p>Then about two months ago I was speaking to my friend who told me she was remodeling her kitchen and I shared my horrible experiences with her. That’s when she stopped me and said, “Wait a minute I’ve have been there and you need to talk to Mikey”. And that’s how I got to meet one of the most talented kitchen designers who is a true contractor as well. Mikey helped us understand what it is that we needed to put into our kitchen in order to make it functional and beautiful. He gave us a 3D design and then broke down the project explaining every part and how long and how much it would cost. We then scheduled another meeting in the showroom and I asked are we not supposed to sign anything yet, no contract? Mikey looked at me and said Why? You have not even chosen what cabinets or tile you want or if you like what I have. I tell you, there was just something about him that made us feel so good we just clicked. </p> <p>As for the project, it all went very nice and smooth!! From calls in the morning from Stella to Francisco and his crew. Every day they were just going at it to complete it by the holidays, it was all just like he described it. I can’t even describe to you how much we love our kitchen now and YES we are going for the bathroom next. Reason one for this review is because I promised Mikey that if he gets it done on time for Rosh Hashanah and we can have the holiday here with family, then I would rave about it on Angies list, and here I am.</p> <p>I would recommend Mikey to anyone and blindfolded too. Everything from the design to reality was fun, easy going, and a pleasure.</p> <p>Thank you Mikey , we love our kitchen!!</p> <br />

Your favorite contractor was very nice, Itay was our contract manager and he was very helpful. He helped us in giving us feedback on the design and was very nice in helping us with any follow-ups. We are very satisfied with the service and will recommend them to anyone.

<br />Got a flyer in the mailer just a few days before I had a slab leak. <br />I called your favorite contractor up (with a name like that you can't go wrong) and within 4 hours a nice young man called Etai came by and inspected the problem and on the spot was able to walk me through the remedy and gave me a great deal of repiping my house with new copper including patching and touch up paint where needed as well as repair of the floor. <br />He also threw in a new tankless water heater. <br />All the work from start to finish took about 5 days including inspection so I must say I am very pleased <br />Thank you Etai, I now know where to go again if ever in trouble <br />

I wanted to thank Mikey dearly for all the wonderful hard work, we just could not be any happier with our beautiful new kitchen! <br />When we chose to remodel our kitchen we called a few companies and interviewed them wanting ti know what they have go offer. All of them had the same common denominator. .. you should do this and get that and it will cost you. Dont worry we will take care of it. But THEN we met with Mikey from YFC and the tables had turned. Mikey actually came in and started to interview us gathering information of what we wanted and what we were lacking and asked us for a wish list a need list and budget in mind. Then within 20 minutes or so he showed us a wonderful new kitchen design with the modern looking cabinets and granite counter tops. just when we thought this is it and its great Mikey looked at us and said outloud "OK LETS CUSTUMIZE IT TO YOU NEEDS" <br /> <br />As soon as he was done he gave us a breakdown of the cost of project and smiling we said "let's do it" For the next 3 weeks gabi and the crew came in on a daily basis at 8:00AM sharp and totally transformed our old and dated kitchen that Mikey designed into a beautiful and functional kitchen that we just love. <br /> <br />Mikey was with us to help pick and choose our fixtures and hard surfaces. I can comfortably say that we will use Mikey and YFC in the future. And yes, Mikey IS my favorite contractor! <br />

We are still in the process but up until now we are very happy with Itay and his crew. They have been completely professional every day, doing good work, passing inspections on the first go, etc. Other contractors bid on the job at a lower price, but I believe that you get what you pay for. At the first meeting Itay prepared a 3D mockup of the addition within 10 minutes, and was able to connect with us on what we wanted and put it into action. This kind of service from a contractor is invaluable. Anyone who can snag them would be equally as pleased. Once we are finished with construction, I will add more photos.

Nir first came to the house as a third bidder on our bathroom remodel, drywall patching, and painting. He was the highest of the bids; however, we chose him! The impression he left made us comfortable with choosing his crew. He made sure that we stayed within a budget so that we would not regret waiting until we could do more work the right way. He had every opportunity to stack more work onto his bid but he did the right thing by keeping us on track and on budget! <br /> Shopping was a blast with Nir. He was very informative and anything we showed an interest in he would grab, put it on the floor, and we'd discuss why something worked and others didn't. At first I was a little worried he had his own grand vision for our bathroom and would try to lead us down that path; however, as we pointed out what we liked he saw our vision and helped us find all the right pieces. <br /> I will continue to update this review as the process moves forward. I have no doubt that they will continue to be positive, but that will be up Your Favorite Contractors, the work they do, and how the rest of the crew treats my family and house. <br />

LOVE LOVE LOVE Mikey, and the whole YFC builders crew. Usually I do not leave reviews, but this team deserves it two fold. I wanted to thank Mikey for my new bathroom, it has everything I could possibly want and more. It is very calming and has a spa like feeling as my little get away after a long day at work. Mikey you are one of the most talented people I have met in my life, you helped me design and execute my bathroom remodel, with such ease and pleasure. Get ready my kitchen is next! <br /> I would recommend Mikey to remodel any ones house. He truly has a golden touch! <br />

This is the second time we've used Your Facorite Contractor. First time they remodeled our kitchen and family room and now Mikey and the team painted our entire house inside and out - 3200 sq. feet/two story. They also patched cracks where needed and the entire house looks brand new, we couldn't be happier. We also did more extensive work like replacing all interior doors, all brand new fixtures and fixed all the old electrical. Lastly, we completely remodeled another fireplace we had (they redid the first one in our family room) and now it looks beautiful. Lastly, they fixed a couple minor plumbing issues. I defintley recommend these guys, top quality craftsmanship, workers showed up on time and the work was done ahead of schedule!!

None of my friends believe me, but what Mike said was exactly what got done to the day! He said it would take 3 weeks and it took 3 weeks. He said it would cost $25K and it cost $28K but that was because I ended up purchasing extra things for his crew to install as long as they were there. Now, they did not run into any unexpected problems which leads to additional time and expenses...no mold, no structural problems etc but it wasn't that kind of job to begin with. His crew arrived on time and cleaned up pretty well each day after they left. I was very pleasantly surprised by this! Mike is always available to answer questions via text message and is always very polite and courteous and knows how to make a newbie feel comfortable. I never once felt like he would take advantage of me and my lack of knowledge or experience. <br /> I had the work done in January of 2014 and it is now October 2014. I absolutely love the kitchen! After all this time, the only thing I would say is that I am a little tiny bit disappointed with the quality of the cabinets on the surface. I don't have kids and my dogs are rarely in the kitchen, but for some reason they seem to scratch fairly easily. I love the Caesarstone countertops! The grout cracked in several places since installation but I was easily able to fix that myself. <br /> I would use Mike in the future to update my master bathroom. <br />

Neil was very patient considering the job he is up against! He took my families problem into his hands and treated it as if it was his own! Extremely prideful in his work and with his word. We had A LOT of questions, even questions off topic with other issues in the house. He stayed way passed his time promised and made sure to answer any questions we had as well as call people for us to fix previous issues. He was referred to us by a Family member who has had work done by his company and has nothing but great things to say about him! To top it off he treated my dad and I to Coffee and pastries at Starbucks to relieve a little stress he sensed in us! <br />

<p>The house was built in 1937, as you can imagine the bathroom needed a complete demolition, from the floor to the ceiling and walls.  First the old vanity and bathtub were removed so that the workers could remove the old tile on the floor and the tile in the old shower which was completely removed.  The floor was floated with concrete (the house is on a raised foundation), so that new tile could be installed.  The walls were removed down to the studs, two old windows were replaced by one modern window above the new shower. Because Neil came up with a new design for the bathroom, a new wall was built for a very large shower in the location were the old vanity was (we did not want a bathtub). New cabinets were installed for lots of storage and a vanity with marble top, oval mirrored medicine cabinet with two wall sconces on either side. We had new recessed lights in the ceiling with a fan that goes on when the lights are turned on, not on a separate switch.   Neil and the workers were very clean, leaving no mess in the living room which they had to walk through while working in the bathroom.  Because of the old windows being replaced, the outside of the house was re-stuccoed and painted to match the house.  No mess anywhere!. </p> <p>In the kitchen, we decided not to have all the cabinets replaced as my father had made and installed ash cabinets around 1960; it was a sentimental choice, which Neil understood.  Neil had matching cabinets made along a wall that had none.  All tile was replaced with granite of our choice and a new stainless steel sink was installed.  The linoleum floor was replaced with tile as well as the dinning room.  Before the tile could be put down backboard was installed on top of the existing wood floor.  All tile was installed in a diagonal pattern looking from the living room, so that the dinning room looks larger and flows into the kitchen. </p>

Where to start on how pleased my husband and I were with all the work that Nir did for us!  The porch was exactly what we had envisioned and constructed so well that even the building inspector said, "This guy did more than he had to.  I've never seen construction done so well."  Consequently my husband and I always say that if there's a big earthquake, we're heading for the porch! <br /> The work team was punctual, polite, and never failed to clean up the site every day before they left.  Once they began, they worked every day until the work was finished (with the exception of two bad weather days).  The footing for the porch is done so well we could turn the porch into another room without having to alter the footing.  We have a small porch on the front of the house.  The back porch is 9 by 17 and we wanted it to match the one in front.  Nir found an iron worker who could match the design of the railing in the front which is original to the house built in 1950.  People who see the back porch now always think it's original to the house as well.  The roof is very well framed and braced, as we planned and since have installed solar panels on the porch roof. <br /> The thing about Nir is that he "gets me".  He seems to intuit what I like style wise, and he is not happy until I'm happy.  He was right on in suggesting the market lights.  I have always wanted them but hadn't even mentioned them to Nir before he suggested them.  His electrical work is stellar.  Excellence and quality are Nir's benchmark.  He has no patience with people who do poor work or cut corners and he holds himself and those who work for him to very high standards.   <br /> We are planning more work, this time on the interior of the house.  I wouldn't call anyone else.  Nir is indeed my favorite contractor.
