He got to my home exactly at our agreed appointment time and put on booties to keep our floors clean. He immediately went to look for rodents and any other issues we had. He was very thorough and respectful of my home and my family. He then fully explained our issue to us and quoted the estimate to remedy the issue. The price was fair and we agreed to hire him. He then proceeded to put down some traps and fill a few holes for us. He explained everything to us so we easily understood what service he was providing as well as future treatment we may need. No hard sells or pushy salesman type tactics. Just suggestions. Payment was smooth and fast. He was a delight to hire, fixed the issue fast and quoted a very fair price. If you are in the market for a quality exterminator for a fair price, don't hesitate.

One of my rental properties had been left with a bed bug infestation by a tenant. This is a single family 3 bedroom home and was vacant of all furnishings, pictures, etc and had a lock box on the door so contractors (such as Z-Best) could access the residence without me being there. I removed all switch covers and wall plates as advised by Z-Best and they came in and treated the house on the day they scheduled and left a receipt for the service. I also asked for a follow up treatment in 3 to 4 weeks just to be sure the bed bugs were completely eliminated and Z-Best agreed to do so at no charge. Z-Best also offered a 1 year guarantee on their treatment. I could never verify that the home actually received a second treatment by Z-Best as no receipt or evidence of a visit was left, plus I saw live bed bugs. <br /> I called Z-Best many times trying to get them to retreat (per their guarantee) and ended up with un-returned messages, disconnected phone numbers, and an complete appearance of lack of organization when I did finally get hold of them. While they were very sympathetic and willing to go back to the house. After they scheduled to go back and see the issue/retreat they did not keep the appointment. Stay away from Z-Best pest control as they were not capable or responsive to my situation. Their guarantee is obviously meaningless and it cost me a loss of $810 to fond this out. <br /> The bottom line is that I had to bring in another exterminator to do the job properly, namely EcoTherm. I don't remember the initial cost, or which year it was first installed. 5 years ago, probably. 375 is the yearly maintenance amount. For that payment, they come out, see if there is any activity. If there is activity, they bait and treat. So the fee is kind of like insurance, i guess. <br /> In 2011, we didn't receive a bill. They came out to remove the equipment, and we happened to be home to stop them. We talked with them, and it turns out they hadn't sent it. We paid, and all was well. We thought. <br /> We paid again in March 2012. I believe they came out to check the system at some point that summer. <br /> In 2013, we didn't receive a bill again. I left 3 voice messages with no response. I finally emailed, and received the response that we were dropped because we had also not paid 2012, and if we wanted to "catch up" by paying both years, they would reinstate. <br /> I returned proof of 2012 payment (from the bank records) and asked about a bill for 2013. Haven't received a response again after 2 emails. I would be happy to continue the product, but they have a real problem with their computer billing system. <br /> <br /> UPDATE - 8/11/13: <br /> I received an apology about not recording my 2012 payment, and an invoice for just the 2013 service. After a couple more emails, I made the 2013 payment (with reservations), and Jason set an appointment to come out and treat. He cashed the check, but didn't show up or explain.. Since, i've sent numerous unanswered emails. <br /> <br /> UPDATE- 11/24/13: <br /> I filed a complaint with Angie's List shortly after the previous update. On 8/14, Jason sent me an email saying he was cancelling my contract and would refund my money within 2-3 weeks. Since then, i've sent monthly inquiries about the refund, and have not received it. I filed a complaint with the BBB in early November but that has (so far) yielded no results either. <br /> STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

He looked at everything and told me in his estimation we didn’t have a bed bug problem but wasn’t able to identify the insects. He was very aggressive on trying to sell a monthly inspection for bed bugs.

I called Z Best just after Christmas 2011 because I'd found some odd "droppings" in a couple of my kitchen drawers. He asked me to email him a picture, which I did. He called me within 30 minutes to tell me what he thought was going on, and then came out later in the day to do an inspection and set traps. He then came out one month later, and will come out every three months for ongoing maintenance (we signed up for his inside/outside treatment plans). Z Best was great, professional, and I have already recommended them to friends and family.

I've used Z Best from pretty much their first day out in the field - 2004 to present ... I support local vendors over national operations - BUT - Dan Kelley is more than just "the bug guy" - he's dependable!!! I lived in a home that had a super issue with over a half dozen species - my room mate had tried everything - and other "companies" ... I called Dan - and within a few weeks - no more bugs! STILL to this day - :) I now live on a couple acres in the country - interior bugs are never an issue - thanks to Dan ... he's treated my barn, garage, boat and if a spider does sneak in - one phone call and he zaps them away! ;) <br /> <br /> I've recommended Z Best to MANY - and everyone is pleased!!!

We were never home when they supposedly "treated". There was never any evidence that they were here, but we had to sign a contract and they billed our credit card. There is still a carpenter ant problem. It never went away. That isn't pest control, that's just taking my money.

"The member was not home when the member signed pest control agreement. Contract terms stated that all services would be exterior service only after initial service was completed. All inside services would be done at no additional charge. There was never a follow up service ever requsted during the contract term. Dan/Owner Z-Best Pest Control/LLC"

Bought a house with active termite control, no actual termites, just preventative traps in the ground. The company was fine at first, during the summer months, they sprayed the exterior of the house, and serviced the termite traps, which I must say are an eye sore in the yard. They came out in Feb, and could not inspect the termite traps due to it being winter, did an exterior rodent inspection, and found no access points. No chemicals were used. No termite traps were pulled up. They were here for less than 10 mins. I got a bill for $155. When I called to question why I was being billed for basically nothing, Jason Kelley got very belligerent with me and told me he didnt care if my husband was active duty Air Force, he didnt care that I thought we were being ripped off, and his customer service skills were extremely poor. Instead of just waiving this inspection fee to keep a valued customer, Jason was willing to argue with me and didnt listen to my complaint or seem to care. Very very poor customer service, and I'm extremely dissatisfied with this company. Consumer Beware!

"This report is not accurate. I gave the customer every opportunity to renew her contract for termite control when she bought the home from previous customer which we had under contract(Adam Scott). She did not pay renewal so we terminated her contract due to contract provisions. I also met with Member at her home and discussed the matter after she agreed to continue coverage on acct. After we discussed the matter she told me to cancel contract. At that time I pulled the termite traps from her yard and cancelled contract with client Dan Kelley President Z-Best Pest Control,LLC"

This is an EXCELLENT company. It is a small business who prides itself on customer service and satisfaction and we have never ever had a bad experience. They have always made time to address our problems and we would highly recommend them. Especially to a bigger corporation for pest control. And I hate bugs.
