Zion Restoration

During the major flood event that happened in the Royal Oak area in August 2014, we called dozens of restoration companies, however very few even called us back (because everyone was swamped with calls). Zion was different. I called and spoke to a professional and courteous person over the phone, and the next day a professional showed up at my house and clearly explained their services and my options. The cost of their services was on par with other restoration companies (not cheap). They came out a couple of days later and tore out the water-soaked drywall and doors, etc, and cleaned and sanitized everything. They did excellent work and were efficient, professional and friendly. <br /> <strong></strong>

First, I must say, they did an excellent job, this work was done 4 years ago.  The attic of this home was COVERED in mold.  It  was completely removed (so well we haven't a fleck of it return).  The work was done in the time quoted, and the price was comparable to other estimates.  The only issue I had was that the guy that came to bid the job described how careful they would be to contain the mold as they were removing it.  He stated they would wear protective clothing and would remove it in such a way there wouldn't be contamination of other areas. They would enter the attic through a hole in the garage so access wouldn't involve going into the attic through the house.  Sounded great.  On one of the days they were working, one of the guys came in to the house to use the bathroom wearing the protective suit he had been wearing in the attic!  I just felt it was unprofessional and risky. It wasn't what was promised. <br />

They were excellent.  However, their lead person on the job was not professional.  We were pleased with the company though.  When they realized that their lead man was not professional and was insulting they changed him out and the owner came instead.  The lead man, Pete was very condescending.  My husband thought that maybe he had woman gender issues.  However, when I did it to him he was floored.  He was removed from the site.  We were on a time crunch and so they put us in the top of the list.  We had to get our basement worked on immediately.  So they were very accepting and amenable to our situation.  They wanted to please us.  They handled it very well.  They were very good except for Pete.  He was extremely unprofessional.  We were covered under the insurance policy so I spent only $2000 with Zion Restoration.  Their price was comparable.  They were above average.  They met our needs satisfactorily.  They were under a time pressure and I acknowledge that.  I would not recommend their project manager, Pete. I think that he should never be put up with homeowners.  He was poor on that.  He has no personal skills at all.  We almost stopped the project because of him.  Other than that, we were really happy with the job they did.
