About us
In 1967 Van Caffi, son of an Italian immigrant, followed in his father's footsteps by opening his own small business. Antonio Caffi (Father) was a shoe repairman with a shop on Fairfax Drive in the Ballston area. Van, one of six boys born to Antonio and Louise Caffi and a graduate of Washington and Lee High School in Arlington, has spent most of his life in the Arlington area. The business began with Van working alone doing new construction in McLean with various builders. Soon other employees were hired and multiple housing projects were under contract. In 1972 Van and his wife Eleanor bought the current property on Quincy Street keeping the Caffi name alive in the Ballston business community for more that 70 years! Today the company has a showroom and parts counter and provides plumbing, heating, gas fitting, and general contracting services to commercial and residential customers throughout the Northern Virginia area. Van has since retired. Still family owned and operated the company provides first class service with a small business attitude toward customer satisfaction.
