Chain O'Lakes Plumbing and Heating

Installed new hot water heater without a problem, but when it broke one year later they were of no help. I had to get another company to replace it. The product itself was warrantied but I had to pay labor.

Don was prompt, nice, knowledgeable and informative. He quoted a competitive flat rate for the job. After the completion of the job, I contacted him and he told me that he was not done yet and needed to replace a broken plug. I never heard from him. We then had an issue with rain water coming up where the plug was missing. When I called, I was told that the plug was in and someone would drop it off. My expectation was that he would install the plug but that apparently was not his intent. When the bill came in, it was more than he quoted. I have been trying to contact him to discuss but I have been unable to get him to return my calls.

Quick, honest, friendly...I would definitely hire Chain O' Lakes again if needed.

Jay - the plumber was extremely courteous and reliable - although we discovered a few days later that our basement window was left wide open - leading to some minor water damage. They also left our sump pump unplugged - luckilly it did not overflow. In Jay's defense - we needed to leave - and we pretty much rushed him out. The real negative was the person helping the plumber. He was very unfriendly and did not seem to care about the quality of his work. It took us an hour to clean up our lawn and part of our garden where he had dug a short trench and carelessly backfilled it.

When I asked for a quote, I was told $99/hour and that it would take 2 hours. After the work was done, I was told there is a 2-1/2 hour minimum. But their prices were still a lot lower than other plumbers. I am satisfied with the work that was done.

The plumber, Jay, arrived within the stated time frame and called before hand stating he was on his way to the site. Work was completed in a professional manner with no wasted time. Friendly service at a acceptable cost. Would call again!

The hourly rate I was charged was more than quoted on the phone. They were over 2 hours late but did call to notify me.

Bret, the plumber who arrived on the scene was excellent, knows his stuff, waisted no time. The guy at the office didn't seem to know his hourly rates. He didn't mention that I was expected to pay travel time. His estimate of the time necessary to fix the problem was high. So, my final bill was less than he indicated. The work was great. The admin side could use some work. I don't like surprises. I'll call Chain O'Lakes again.
