In Spring weather plays a big part in how quickly the job proceeds. The weather was great when we got the estimate and for two weeks after, but once work started the weather caused many delays and rescheduling before it was completed. Once you give the 20% down it can take awhile before work actually starts! Keep track of what your contractor says from the time you hear the estimate until the work is done. We had to cross part of the job off because we were told that it would cost more than the estimate. The work that was done turned out OK. It was a two day job that involved some cement and the two weeks after we gave them the start up check were perfect weather wise. However, it snowed on the day they planned to start our job and it was pretty "iffy" once the cement was poured, dried - and the frame work and door were installed. Having the job start and stall was frustrating and not being able to get it all done (left off rod iron hand railing) was disappointing. We should have waited until summer.

They responded to any queries made and kept us apprised of any necessary changes due to weather and were likewise flexible in schedule changes that were unavoidable. They cleaned the property after finishing and left everything in great shape. Very professional, excellent workmanship and great customer service. Clayton and Woody are both great to work with! Their initial follow up was fast and they were responsive throughout the entire process. The project was to install a metal railing around our patio. They were able to get it done on time and under budget. I highly recommend Claywood Construction and plan on hiring them again for future work.
