Common Construction

Daniel Zimmerman does excellent work, I have refereed him out several times, with raving success.

We have completed two projects with Common Construction. The first project was a gut and remodel of a bathroom which went well and we were very satisfied. The second project was another gut and remodel, this time of the kitchen, including new windows and installation of a sliding door. Overall we're satisfied with most aspects of this project but it did take much longer than anticipated. The one disappointing aspect was the quality of the patching of the wood floor where the footprint of the island was changed.

Dan was terrific. He was responsive, reliable, and efficient--besides being a nice guy. He showed up when he said he would, did a great job, left everything neat when he was finished at the end of the day. He had good ideas about how to do the job that we hadn't considered. His estimate was accurate, without any hidden surprises. The guys he works with were also great. I will definitely use him again and would recommend him to others.

Daniel was always easy to reach by phone. He understood the scope and needs of our project perfectly. He was able to save money by spotting part of the work that was simple enough to do without calling in yet another pro, and was enthusiastic about re-using all the existing plumbing and fixtures we had hoped to re-use. In the end he came in below his initially quoted price, and on schedule.

Amazing work! Dan and James were punctual (although their work day starts a little later than most), professional, hard working, and polite. I hired Dan to remove a wall between my kitchen and living room. Dan always took the time to explain everything that he was doing along the way. His communication was superb and precise (my wife and I are English teachers). Dan offered a sound estimate with options for adding or eliminating parts that we may have deemed unnecessary or too expensive. All in all, we came in $700 under estimate! I highly recommend Dan for any structural, design, or carpentry work.

They were great--Dan was extremely helpful with the actual design and selection of various components of the kitchen and bathroom. He wasn't afraid to speak up if he thought I was making a bad choice on something. They all did a fantastic job and paid a lot of attention to details. The job involved: a total gut of my kitchen and tearing down a wall, adding a support beam and breakfast bar; a moderate renovation of the bathroom; and adding recessed lights in living room. It all turned out fantastic! I would definitely recommend them; only complaint is that towards the end it took awhile to get the last 5% of touches done.

Everyone that worked on the projects were honest, friendly, and professional. The estimate and the actual cost were very close and the overal job more than met my expectations.

I thought for a while about how to appropriately and deservingly word my experience with Common Construction. I have had visions for my home and had work done many times to fulfill that vision, but never have I felt the level of happiness I gained from Common Construction. From beginning to completion, I was HAPPY with the experience. Dan Zimmerman made the process easy and even fun! He is overly talented and holds one of the most important qualities a person can obtain: integrity. It is absolutely clear: when a customer "looks forward" to spending money again with a company, Common Construction, that they had a PERFECT experience!
