HE IS NOT LICENSED but claims he is. He will come to your home with many ideas and con you into the job. Diego Barriga will work in all areas and never finish. He lies about materials and costs and takes advantage. Not only did he not finish the job, but it was also not done correctly. He fails to get the permits that he claims he has and slowly stops showing up to work and then completely stops coming. Diego Barriga is not the person you want to hire- beware and he knows the system he will quote you under 30K knowing he can not be touched by the law for not having a license. He is a criminal and has done this to several people.

Diego Barriga is the owner of DMJA Contractors, he is NOT a licensed contractor, does incomplete and incorrect work, does not follow plans, lies to and overbills clients, and lies to and does not pay his subcontractors. He is currently being sued by at least three former clients. Contact attorney Jon C. in Charlotte for more info on ongoing lawsuits. I acted as the engineer for a few of his projects, and I am now finding out he has not followed plans, made framing and foundation errors that do not match plans, do not meet codes, and has performed framing that is simply dangerous, and lied to the clients saying that these framing errors were --approved by the engineer-, which they were not. I personally hired him to act as the GC for a simple garage slab installation and I wound up paying $23,000+ for a project he quoted me at $17,000, I had to do almost all the project management and take a day off work to make sure the project happened using my own machinery to help out because it was so mismanaged and ill planned, and he wrote two bad checks to the main subcontractor as well. I recommend any potential clients avoid this person and his company for any size construction project. I estimate the current litigation amounts to be $300,000+, and I am personally suing him in small claims for $5000 as well as retracting my engineering approvals from all of his projects.
