Gene Interiors can supply all of your hardwood flooring needs. Inlays are available from a few hundred dollars on up, such as a fireplace wrap around the hearth, kitchen island surround, and a decorative threshold in a doorway or small accent at the top of a stair or landing. More extensive applications such as a border running around the entire perimeter of a room, medallions placed in the entryway or center of a room or an entire inlay floor. Sanding and Refinishing your Existing Floor: When having a wood floor sanded professionally you can expect to see the removal of your old finish. Most scratches and some stains, also the flatting and smoothing of your existing floor. In some cases where there are boards that are badly damage or stained beyond repair, we can replace and blend the boards into the existing wood. Once the final sanding process is completed we then apply a stain color of your choice followed by two coats of polyurethane. If our customers prefer a natural finish then we can apply a sealer and then two coats of polyurethane. How long does it last? There are many variables that go into determining durability, but generally speaking, with proper care a floor finished by us will last for years. Our polyurethane has the same properties as urethane, and so the durability is just about equal
