About us
With a broad background of experience in residential, educational, institutional, and commercial projects, H. P. Rovinelli Architects is a high quality design firm providing full architectural services from programming and site selection through project design and construction administration. Established in 1993 by Paul Rovinelli, Paul brought to the organization more than twelve years of experience with several nationally known architectural firms, including Kallmann McKinnell, Wood Architects, and Schwartz/Silver Architects of Boston. The firm has grown steadily over the years, amassing a portfolio of work with distinguished clients, from a private banker in the Philippines to the Center for Research on Women at Wellesley College. Mr. Rovinelli was educated at Williams College (B.A.) and Columbia University (M.Arch.). He spent several years in the Netherlands researching the work of the Dutch architect H.P. Berlage, sponsored, among others, by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Fulbright Scholars Program, the Graham Foundation and the Kinne Foundation. The firm employs at present six persons, including Mr. Rovinelli as principal. There are five architectural designers, each with a distinguished educational and professional background. Recent and current architectural projects include new custom houses on the waterfront in mid-coast Maine, the eastern shore of Maryland and Hyannisport, Massachusetts; a family compound in the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts; the rehabilitation of townhouses in Bostons Back Bay, South End and Beacon Hill neighborhoods; a complete renovation of the residence of the spiritual leader of the First Church of Christ, Scientist; a fitness center for Mercury Computer Systems; and residential projects in Belmont, Wellesley and Dover, Massachusetts. H.P. Rovinelli Architects undertakes each project with an acute appreciation for the parameters of program, context and budget. Our approach is concentrated, highly individualized and open to the exceptional in each design problem.
