Where to begin? The thought of buying new windows for the home my family recently moved into was almost traumatizing. A few years ago, we replaced the windows in our previous home and a rental property. The experience was so incredibly bad. This time around, we were sure to do some research before beginning the process again. What we found was The Door and Window Specialist. The quote they gave us for CertainTeed windows was over a thousand dollars less than the next best quote. The salesman, Justice, was upfront and honest about the cost of the windows and the installation, and very informative about the windows he sells as compared to other windows on the market. He made sure we understood exactly what we were purchasing. (Additionally, we were able to get a lot of information off of their very informative website) The actual installation went very smoothly. The crew that came to our house was extremely efficient. In fact, to our amazement, they finished the entire installation in one day! (Last time, it took two days to do a smaller job) The crew, lead by the owner of the company, was very courteous. They made a point of not making a mess in our house, and of cleaning up everything once the installation was done. In the end, we were left with beautiful new vinyl windows and patio doors, and a new entry door. Our house looks like it went through a mini-extreme home makeover! And all it took was a day. The Door and Window Specialist did a wonderful job and we would glowingly refer them to anybody looking for new windows.

There was some lack of communication in regards to scheduled times for the installation of my garden window. The first scheduled installation the crew was very clean. The installation of the garden window there was debris left on our roof and surrounding the installation area. TDWS did return to clean up. We are very pleased with our new windows and TDWS were honest and professional.

Yes, Justis came to our home, we are in the process of picking and choosing the door we like, it will take up to 6 weeks to order the door as its a custom fit but I think this company is really good. I feel comfortable.

I did my research and decided to choose this company because they had no complaints and were a BBB member. I was disappointed by the lack of customer service and professionalism of the president of the company Louis Ottrando. This man displayed no concern for his profession in regards to customer service or his clients. To top it off he had the audacity to instruct one of his workers to send me a preliminary notice to put a lien on my house. He felt/thought that I was not going to pay after he left my property without completing the work and without any communication as to when he was going to finish the job. I do not recommend this company because of him.

My original install date was August 30th. They had a problem with their supplier and moved my install to Sept. 11th. I was supposed to be first up . At 12:30 I got a call saying they would be late. When the installers finally arrived at 2:30, they did so without my sliding glass door. They said there was still a problem with the manufacturer, but it should be in in two days. After two weeks,I still had no sliding glass door or installation date, but my credit card was charged for the completed project even though it wasn't done. I finally got a response from the company after my original rating was submitted. It has been a fiasco! I am disappointed

I made the best decision to use the Door & Window Specialist. I couldn't be happier with my windows and they look better than I ever imagined. The installers were so professional and worked together well. I could go on and on. I definitely recommend this company to anyone needing windows and/or doors.

I'm waiting for installation on July 10th but wanted to rate them now and again in the future.

Right up front, this company gave me the best price out of 6 quotes on installing 3 patio doors. They were almost $1000 better on price and installation. The company has a lifetime warranty on parts and labor which is better than the manufacturer's warranty. The crew was sloppy with the caulk, and in some cases, didn't use enough on the molding. When installing the bedroom patio door, they chipped the paint on the house trim (I need to repaint this). Overall, I was pleased with the value I received, and I'd hire them again. I would price in your time to clean-up after the crew when the installation is completed.

Originally I had planned to go with another company that was charging less for the same windows and work. They met that price and were very prompt. I am waiting for a service call because one door does not close properly all the time and they have assured me they will come and fix it.

Workers were very professional and constant asked if the work met my requirements. Walk-thru was very easy and if I happened to notice anything was fixed right then and there. I would definitely use them again.

I would definitely recommend Louis to anyone. We had a non standard window that we converted into a bench seat with a bay window. Louis did an excellent job configuring the windows so they look great! The other windows in the house were also replaced with no problems.

Seemed like they are more experienced with vinyl windows (mine were wood). Had to remind them to level and plumb windows BEFORE shooting nails through the frames. Flashing had to be redone several times to satisfy City Inspector. Also had to supervise door hardware installation closely. Stuck to their reasonable quote, though, and site was well cleaned after. Damage was minimal from tearing out the existing windows.
