ABOUT US Richard Sharpe Associates, P.C., is an architectural firm committed to quality, service and innovative design. RSA provides single source, closely coordinated architectural and interior design services for design and construction of new structures as well as planning, upgrading and repairs to existing buildings. The Firm has 48 years of experience and offers a broad range of services including planning, program analysis, investigations and reports, design, specifications, full contract documents, construction administration, and project management. All documents are computer generated providing rapid production, communication, modifications and delivery. The Principal provides liaison with each client in all phases of the assignment while support personnel (interior designers, CAD operators) assure responsible handling of each job from inception to completion. Selected engineering consultants provide the required technical disciplines particular to each individual project. The Firm has enjoyed long-term professional relationships with several distinguished engineering firms and carefully coordinates them with the projects specific requirements. PRINCIPALS Richard Sharpe, F.A.I.A. President Mr. Sharpe established the firm in 1957 and has coordinated the architectural and interior design of over 1,800 new buildings and rehabilitations projects. Author, professor and lecturer, he has been the recipient of design awards, earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completed Graduate Studies in Civic Design at the University of Liverpool, England. Professional memberships include Fellow of the American Institute of Architects; Past President of the Connecticut Society of Architects; and currently Chairman of the Norwich Historic District Commission. He is Past Chairman of the AIA Commission on International Relations and AIAs representative to the Pan-American Federation of Architects. He is a Nationally Certified Preservation Architect by the Connecticut Historic Commission, is registered in four states with the National Council Registration Board and is an honorary member of eight National Associations of Architects. Mitchell Mishkin, B. Arch., BFA Project Manager Since 1999, Mr. Mishkin has served as Manager of CAD operations as well as Project Manager directly responsible for the management of all projects. He collaborates in all aspects of the building process, from establishing initial programmatic requirements through the design phase, including coordination of the structural, mechanical/electrical and civil engineering elements as well as overseeing the preparation of contract documents and construction administration. He received a Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees from Rhode Island School of Design and is affiliated with the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
