Whitaker HVAC, installs and services complete heating and cooling systems in homes and businesses in the Portland area including high-efficiency furnaces, central air conditioners, ductwork, gas lines, exhausts, water heaters, and fireplaces. Ron has been working in this field since 1983 and has been licensed and bonded since 1997. We are a small, family-run business dedicated to delivering personal and individual customer service. Ron is personally present at most jobs to ensure the highest-quality work and with our low overhead, our prices are hard to beat. We take great pride in dealing personally with all of our customers and believe that quality workmanship, coupled with exceptional customer service, creates repeat customers.

Heat Pump Repair or Service
Mr. Whitaker received our plea for help about 4:30 in the afternoon during a brutal heat wave here in Portland. He came to our house that same night, after finishing two other customer calls. He arrived at 9:30 PM and stayed until the job was done at 11:00. The temp in our house was 95 degrees at 11:00 a night...and we were so happy to see the thermometer falling as soon as Ron got the A/C working. We were able to get a good nights sleep and survive the heat wave. He explained what was wrong in terms we understood and had the part we needed on his truck. He was friendly and professional despite what had to have been a very long day for him.

our a/c brokedown. I found servicemagic through google and filled out the form and emailed my request. 15 minutes later Ron called and said he could come in 30 minutes. he did and fixed the a/c unit. very pleased with ron's work and and cando attitude.

I am so very impressed with the service I received from Ron. Super-nice guy, honest, gave me an affordable estimate on a difficult project, and took care of it the next day! I found Service Magic Wednesday, Ron came and gave me an estimate that very day, and did the job on Thursday! I have tried to get this job done for more than a year, calling people in the yellow pages, finding locater services online (Craig's list) with no luck. ServiceMagic was supposed to forward my project request to four service professionals within 72 hours however they only forwarded it to 1 service professional (Ron's Heating & Cooling). I was promptly contacted by Ron himself the same day and he offered to come out the next day to review my gas furnace problem. I was satisfied by Ron's work. He was friendly, honest, and professional and quickly fixed my problem after replacing a part inside my furnace. My only complaint is he is not prompt about being on time after an appt. time is set, however he did follow-up with a phone call to inform me he was running late. I would recommend Ron.

I called Ron after our furnace igniter went bad. He immediately sent someone out to replace it. Since he were already considering upgrading to A/C for the summer, his employee sold us on doing it all at that time. I believe he gave us a fair price for all of it, so we scheduled the install and his he installed a temp. igniter free of charge.Ron and a crew of 2 others helped him install. They were very nice and prompt. The system works great now and we are very happy with it. The only negative things were the fact that we felt a little pressure to buy the system and he had to come back a few times to fix a few things, which were not his fault.

Ron was very proactive in calling, as they all were, but he also asked enough qualifying questions before coming to quote the job, that he was able to do the job while here. And his quote was $75 less than the next lowest. I'm thrilled with his work and just wish I had more for him to do.

Ron was friendly and not pushy. He did the installation himself, along with a helper. The final price matched his quote. I liked the price, the quality of the heat pump, and his responsiveness to adjustment issues. I didn't like his lack of punctuality, and his somewhat unfamiliarity with operational issues. Fortunately, he knew who to call to get the system adjusted.
