Simply Concrete

The front steps (and landing) up to the front door of my St. Paul Bungalow were peeling, cracking and crumbling - a total mess! Matthew worked like magic to remove all the old paint, knocked off all the unstable concrete pieces, secured new concrete, finished the surface with a knock-down trowel finish and also repainted my iron railings. It is BEAUTIFUL and adds so much to my home! He kept in communication the whole time asking what I wanted to do in certain situations as things progressed. He is honest and a true craftsman because not many contractors even wanted to even touch this one. I would highly recommend him.

good gob cameback to fix a few things still have two spots but i will fix it my self dont want to bother him again.The money amount was right in the area it should of been. he works hard to please the costemer.he had a batch of bad sealer he did come back once to fix problem.If you want him better call soon he may be booked up for awhile call and see.

They provided great value and final quality, but I would have preferred more interaction prior to the start of the project. The pro came and looked at what needed to be done without me being there - I would have liked to have been given the chance to discuss the project in person. Also, the pro neglected to get a permit prior to starting work without my knowledge. Only after he had begun work did I learn he did not get a permit - I would have liked to have been consulted on that decision. Other than those things they worked efficiently and with a great final result.

I needed immediate service for ice buildup on my roof. Simply Concrete was out the next orning with a full crew. They cleaned my roof to my satisfaction, were very professional in their dealing with me, and I would have them back again if needed.

He showed up on time and got the snow removed within a timely manner.

Matt and his partner did a really nice job. I was very pleased. Would recommend.

Concrete sidewalk was installed in October 2008. Work looked good initially; Few months later (March, 2009), sidewalk had large crack, completely across, and all the way down. When tried to call Paulus, they had changed all phone #'s (With no forwarding #). Contacted Service Magic, who supplied contractor's new phone #'s. After paying another contractor to fix Paulus's mistakes, discovered Paulus had cut corners by mixing chunks of old sidewalk with new concrete, and poured new concrete thinly on top of footings at corner of garage which caused crack to form. Have photos.

Paulus, was quick to replace our driveway, sidewalk and front stairs. We made a couple of modifications from the original layout and they did a good working with us. We have landscaping that was going to be tore out by another contractor, but Paulus left it in place and did a good job of working around it. They also did a good job cleaning up.

Matthew Paulus was very professional and great to work with. We got our call back and estimate done in a very timely manner. The people that work for him were very pleasant and professional. The workmanship I would consider as outstanding and they cleaned up the site as best as they could when they were done. I would strongly pass along his name and number to other people.

Matt provided great service - he knew the timing was crucial, so he got out right away and did a fabulous job.

Matthew was honest about what he was going to do with my steps. He is a likeable person and I think quite knowledgeable about his craft. My steps, although, did not look as nice as I wanted to when first done. I called Matthew and he made it a point to return and fix the problems. My steps look very nice now.

Paulus performed with a beautiful product and a process that was executed with professionalism and high standards. I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend Paulus to anyone. I'm very disappointed in their work. It was sloppy, and clean up was not good. Paulus doesn't return calls after a job is completed.

Finalizing the quote was a hassle. But price was reasonable. The quality of the work appears to be good. Left some messes upon clean-up.

He was very professional and helpful. His bid was the most fair bid out of all of them that I had and his quality of work was just wonderful. I would definitely recommend him to someone who needs work done.

Working with Mark was great - though I had some speculations of his helpers on the day of the job.
