Did not do a good job on the waterproofing and ended up with leaks. The deck was built without a permit and has several issues with rotting wood.

"Smith Home Improvements uses a very reputable 3rd party foundation water-proofing company. In our 20+ years of building additions, we have never had one issue with our foundations. All foundation water-proofing comes with a written warranty that we stand behind. In regards to building permits, Smith Home Improvements pulls permits on ALL projects that we perform, no exceptions. We maintain copies not only of our Permits but also of all of our inspections. Our work is performed in compliance to local building codes. If there was any rotting wood from a wood deck project that we have completed 10 years ago, this would most likely be due to it not being painted or cared for by the homeowner."

Extremely pleased with this major remodel job. All the employees and subcontractors were extremely competent, courteous and trustworthy. Very nice that the crews didn't change day to day so we knew who was in our home each day while we were at work. Dennis was extremely easy to work with and answered concerns promptly.

"Smith Home Improvements" completed our rather large addition in about 104 days. This included two bedrooms, a large bathroom, and a laundry room, with a full basement. We are very pleased with their work. The employees were very polite and cooperative. I would give Smith Home Improvements a rating of 4.5 and I would surely recommend them. My only complaint is the cost was a bit high

Mr. smith was very easy to work with. He was prompt for our appointment. Mr. Smith listened to our ideas and added hints of his own. I was able to contact Mr. Smith at various times after the original appointment with questions and he spent as much time as needed to answer all my questions. We recieved the proposal on the day he said we would have it. His price was a little higher than others, however we selected Mr. Smith for our basement remodel becuase we felt comfortable with the way he sold us on the quality of work.

Our kitchen remodel did not go well at all. There are numerous things that need to be fixed and Smith Home Improvements is not willing to try and satisfy us. It has been almost one month since they came here. Needless to say I still do not have a kitchen. We have had no kitchen for Thanksgiving and it looks like we will not have one for Christmas. We are having a hard time trying to get someone else to come and fix his mistakes. I would not recommend Smith Home Improvements to anybody. Here are a few of the things he did wrong (too many to list them all) 1. Installed damaged kitchen cabinets. 2. Top kitchen cabinets hung way too low.

"Smith Home Improvements makes every attempt to rectify any issues that clients may present. This case was no different. On this particular job, the materials were purchased,delivered and approved by the customers. In regards to the location of the cabinets, they were installed according to the preference of the homeowner. The fact is that there are some people that just cannot be satisfied."

From the beginning, they were very helpful. Made a lot of great suggestions to my project, which ended up looking a lot nicer than I imagined. Very responsive and timely, which is hard to find. Each day the areas that they were working in where very clean when I came home. All over, Smith Home Improvements was great to work with and I would definitely recommend their services.

I spoke with Smith Home Improvements about my garage project. They said that they could do the work but recommended that I hire mason instead for the work that I described since it would be more cost effective. It is refreshing to see there are still honest contractors out there and not all have a "Take the money and run" mentality.

We were looking into converting our screened-in-porch into an addition to the house. We chose Dennis Smith and Smith Home Improvements based on their fantastic rating on this site and they did not disappoint. Dennis worked with us on our ideas for the room and made sure that everything fit within our budget and gave us an accurate timeline for the project to be completed. During the construction of the room Dennis and his staff were very professional and did tremendous work. The new addition is exactly what we were looking for. I would highly recommend Smith Home Improvements to anyone. They were a pleasure to work with.

Foot addition done on time and in a highly professional manner. This was an excellent job, and a very good experience for me. I have recent experience with other contractors that cannot possibly meet the above average performance of Smith Home Improvements. The work was done while I was at work, and finished when I returned home. Everything met or exceeded my expectations. Everything was totally complete, (no loose ends to tie up), and there wasn't any dirt or debris left for me to clean. It was finished on time, and included a follow up call to check on my satisfaction. This company has already been recommended to a friend who plans to contact you. My next project will be kitchen flooring and counter tops, and I plan to contact Smith Home Improvements to do the work.

My wife and I could not be happier than we are with Dennis the owner and his crew. They took the time to explain everything to my wife and I in great detail. They are very professional, courteous, and understanding of what your needs are and will take the time to necessary to surpass your expectations. I felt we actually got more than what we paid for in this case. Would recommend Dennis and his staff to anyone, including my friends and family. In fact my wife and I will be using Dennis and his staff again in the near future to remodel our bathroom and build us a larger deck. I would tell anyone before getting just any contractor to do your job it would be a waste of money and quality not to at least give Dennis and crew a call first
