About us

Truitt Construction, LLC is a licensed homebuilder and residential construction company based in Decatur, Alabama, owned by Dave Truitt. David was born and raised in Decatur. After graduating from Austin High School in 1991, Dave attended Auburn University where he graduated in Spring Quarter 1996 with a bachelors degree in Building Science. Over the last 17 years, Dave has worked in every level of construction - land acquisition/development, contracting and subcontracting - as well as every aspect of construction - estimating, project management, and field supervision. Market segment experience includes commercial, industrial, healthcare and multifamily. While still working on a NASA contract, Dave attained his homebuilders license in September of 2011. In September 2012, he went full-time into residential construction.

Dave Truitt is highly conscientious about the quality of the work he general contracts...Goes the extra distance to make sure it is planned right BEFORE the work starts. This is a detached over-sized two-car garage with walk-up attic and an attached carport. He had some top-notch subs working for him. The project was top notch and turned out great!"
