Unitech Home Remodeling Company

Unitech did a great job remodeling our Master bathroom and installing a new bathroom in the basement. Their rates were very reasonable. We eventually signed them up again to remodel our kitchen. Their prices were reasonable and they were very competent in their workmanship. The only frustration was that they took longer than originally predicted (even after accounting for the "it always takes longer" rule). However, they did get the job done and we are glad we signed them up.

Price was very reasonable, but the quality of work was substandard. For example, ejector pump for sewer was not properly vented, electrical work was inspected 3 or 4 times before it finally passed. The inspector was extremely irritated that simple things were not corrected. Overall this was a very unpleasant experience.

Unitech has met our expectation in every aspect of the job. Unitech personnel comprises highly trained professionals lead by very competent engineers and managers. Highly recommend.

Steve Kim is simply the most skilled project manager one could hope to find in the vast and varied home remodeling market of Northern Virginia. He is in a word WONDERFUL. Steve helped with so many little details that I would never have considered and I always felt that his judgement was professional and in my best interests. I highly recommend Steve and his whole team. They are well prepared for any home remodeling project. The remodeling done in my basement completely transformed the whole floor at a very reasonable price. They literally rebuilt my laundry room, den, and TV room in less than two months' time.

In general I am very satisfied. I would like to use Unitech for an addition budget permitting.

Unitech Home Remodeling has been a NIGHTMARE. They do not perform project management or quality control. They do not communicate with the customer or they may not even show up as scheduled. I have had to call and send emails daily to find out what the status of the job. They will ve untruthful in providing the estimates once they are in your home. They do not clean up on a daily basis.

This company remodeled two bathrooms. The two men that were assigned to work on my project worked extremely well together. I thought they did a good job, but didn't pay enough attention to detail. This project was completed in approx. 3 1/2 months when it should have taken only 2 weeks (barring no problems). Had the on-site manager, Steve Kim, been more involved, I think this project would have been completed in a timely manner.

Steve Kim was wonderful to work with. I have recommended him to a friend already.

Workers are of Korean background and have communication difficulty.

First the job is fabulous! They gutted our kitchen, took down a wall that separated the kitchen and dining area and installed flooring, appliances, cabinets including one that was custom designed, and island with a quartz counter top. We interviewed several of the contractors who contacted us through this service. All seemed quite good and the estimates were fairly close to each other. Based on the interviews, we felt that Unitech would be more responsive to us and their sincerity and honesty proved genuine. The first Unitech rep we met, supervised the entire job and he was always available by phone. Also they do not sub out work thus their staff have diverse skills and the job is kept in house done by Unitech employees. We would highly recommend this company for their quality work, excellent work ethics and customer responsiveness.

Unitech is a very professional company that we would do business with again. We waited for six months rate them so that we could see how our new kitchen would hold. Well, it held up BEAUTIFULLY!! We are very pleased with Unitech's work. Our designer, and our Project Manager, were fantastic to work with. Our only complaint was the amount of time that it took to get the job done. In the future when we do business with them we will put a period of performance clause. With that said, the amount of time they took to do the job has been lost on us because of the superb quality of their work and the service they provided throughout the remodelling effort.

The job performed by Unitech on remodeling two of my bathrooms was outstanding - primarily due to the work, coordination and follow-through of Mr. Steve Kim and his assistants. Steve and his assistants were at all times very courteous and followed up on our requests. With such a big job there were no major issues. We were not on a tight time schedule for completion so some of the delays that occured for getting parts/tile was not a problem. I looked at three vendors for this project and Unitech was the best value. I would hire Unitech again for any future project. I usually don't submit ratings but Unitech deserves this one.

A couple of years ago we found another contractor via a service like yours and they re-did our kitchen. It was a miserable experience, even though the final product turned out OK. By contrast, working with UniTech has been a dream. They are all of the above and more.

Having Unitech remodel our basement was a great experience. I was especially impressed with our production manager, Steve Kim. Steve was very attentive, diligent, and made sure that everything was executed just the way we wanted it. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with the quality and service of Unitech. We would recommend them to everyone.

Unitech did an excellent job remodeling our kitchen. The quality of their work is first rate. Unitech was extremely responsive to the few issues that arose and we were quite satisfied with the way each was addressed. We would definitely use them again.

Unitech did a good job on the actual remodel. They started off with a bang for the first two weeks, then things came to a halt. Unitech should stick with their contracts and timelines. My contract stated 6-8 weeks...the job took 20 weeks, with a bit still to be completed. Some was blamed on the city inspectors, but I believe scheduling and staff turnover were the main issues. I have learned many lessons after having this work done. I would definetly get timelines from the contractor along with an agreement of discounts if the work is not completed by a certain time. Follow up conversations with an email so you have an accurate record of agreements. The quality of the actual work was good and I would recommend their services.

It has taken four months to do the work that should have take 30 days. In those four months, Unitech has spent less than 3 weeks actually working on the job. Although the quality has been acceptable, I would not hire this contractor again because I feel I have had to manage the entore project.

While I am happy to have a new bathroom, I would not hire Unitech for another job. I expected Unitech to be more professional in terms of communication and timeliness. In the future, I may look towards being willing to pay MORE money if that means more professionalism.
