They brought the height down and opened it up for optimal sun and air flow and took extra care to prune for optimal fruit production for this year (as it was already in bloom thanks to the rain the week before). He worried about taking too much this year but took as much as possible while maintaining the health of the tree, to direct energy to the abundant limbs remaining for this year's production. He took time to point out a couple of limbs I should cut when this year's fruiting is done and waited while I marked them so I wouldn't forget! He instructed me how and where to make the proper cut. needed to send the energy to the correct location.
