"When I moved into my home, several rooms featured a unique plaster finish designed to mimic the look of concrete walls. For years, I searched for a contractor or paint company who could replicate it, especially for a small bathroom renovation I had in mind. Every professional I contacted turned down the job, worried they wouldn’t be able to match the finish closely enough. Fast forward to today, while preparing to list my home, I needed to repair a crack in that same material. A local paint company, who said they don’t handle this type of work, recommended Tony, calling him “the best drywall guy in town.” That same day, Tony came out to assess the job. From the start, his confidence was incredibly reassuring. After completing the initial repair and letting it dry, we noticed the color wasn’t quite right. Without hesitation, Tony returned and worked meticulously, layering multiple shades and using a trial-and-error approach, until it matched perfectly. He didn’t leave until it was flawless. Tony is more than a drywall expert - he’s a true ARTIST. When I’m settled into my new future home, Tony will be the first person I call."

"Fernando and his team start with the project of exterior home replacement of rotted wood, facia board replacement, chimney rework, and painting. They dismiss an awesome job with exterior work that we then moved to inside renovations. Redid the tile with porcelain ceramic in all bathrooms, kitchen, and laundry room. Replaced the carpet upstairs with laminate wood flooring. They replace all window blinds with 1" faux wood blinds. Replaced all standard lighting with recess canned lights all throughout home. Replace thermostats with upgraded Nest thermostats. Replaced all water fixtures with matte black water fixtures. Half bathroom was completely redone. Also painted whole home again inside and out. Power washed garage, driveway, and from siding of home. Cut trees that grew out to touch the roof. Heart Painting and Drywall, Fernando, and his team did a wonderful job with this complete renovation in about 3 months at a very reasonable price for the job. Please consider this company first!"

FAQs for plaster repair projects in Austin, TX

Yes, crumbling plaster poses a safety hazard. Crumbling plaster overhead can drop heavy pieces that injure anyone below. The risk increases if the material contains older additives, such as asbestos or lead-based paint, which can become airborne when the surface is disturbed. Have a qualified pro test and repair deteriorating areas quickly to keep your family—and pets—safe.

Ceiling plaster repairs require a lighter touch than wall repairs. Plaster repair professionals apply thinner coats of plaster to ceilings to reduce weight and smooth the surface, which helps prevent future sagging. Wall repairs can handle extra texture and additional layers without risking structural strain. A plaster repair pro will have the expertise to determine the best technique for your problem area.
