"Initial rep was great and informative. Felt comfortable with initial sale. Hardly had any contact from customer service except for the payments. There were several delays that we were not informed about unless we called to ask. Took 7 months before they showed up to begin project. Only 1 person was sent to build steps. Took a week. Hard worked, hardly took a break. Had to call again to see when they would come to pour patio. Never knew when they were coming, they just showed up. Hardly spoke with the homeowners. Inspection paperwork was just left on porch. Additional paperwork that is "required by the County" had to be completed by homeowner and taken to Court house to be notarized and filed and also provide a copy back to Long Fence. Time sensitive materials which added to homeowners to-do list. Gave this contract to LF on the surface of their history and appearance of a 'good local company' but should have stayed with original contactors in VA. Puddle of water forms when it rains"

"American Custom Contractors did an outstanding job replacing the roof, woodwork, trim, and gutters on our historic 1910 home. The ACC work crews, including carpenters, roofers, and gutter specialists, were highly skilled and experienced. Yanni Agouridis, our project consultant, was extremely helpful in working out the details of the engagement at the outset. Blase Skully, project supervisor and quality assurance manager, was always available to answer many questions and provide advice as we refined the scope of work and the project progressed. He made sure they delivered exactly what we were seeking to accomplish. Blase was also sensitive to ensuring that the historic look of the house was maintained and enhanced by the materials they used and the work they did. The result is beautiful. We get many complements on our new roof and gutters. We highly recommend American Custom Contractors."

Daniel started his construction career in 1983 as an apprentice in Switzerland, Europe. There he learned from experienced old school carpenters how to timber frame and build log houses. Cutting mortise and tenons for structural posts is still something that's done today. Since the late 80's, Daniel has learned all about the ever-changing U.S. construction industry. Daniel started his own remodeling company in 2001 and has since designed and built many additions and remodels in and around Montgomery County, MD. Due to years of experience, Daniel is able to make design changes that make construction easier and cheaper. He has proved himself to be a great communicator so that all parties involved in a remodeling project work as one. His ability to plan, schedule, and execute projects have made jobs less stressful and more rewarding for his clients. Things most frequently mentioned in client reviews are that Daniel and DK are staying within budget, getting the job done on time, are responsive and available, have clean and organized job sites, and are experienced. We are a small, organized family-owned business. We stand behind our work, and thousand of references are available in all areas of DC, MD and VA communities. We accept payments by cash, check or credit card.

"We woke up one more recently and the temperature in the house was intolerably cold. I had the thermostat set on 75, which was much higher than we even usually have it, but even when I would switch the fan from Auto to Blow, the system seemed to cut on for a couple minutes and then just die, and it was blowing cold air. I was so worried because I was afraid to call an unknown company, and the people I'd worked with in the past weren't answering because it was so early in the morning. I called AQP and they answered right away (it was before 7AM) and said they could be here in an hour. When the technician arrived, he quickly diagnosed the problem and said he would have the part replaced and the system running within a couple hours, which he did. By afternoon, our house was warm again, and the cost was extremely affordable. I will definitely hire them again!"

FAQs for range hood installation projects in Barnesville, MD

While venting a range hood outside is optimal for removing heat, smoke, odors, and grease, it's not always required. Ductless range hoods use filters to clean the air before recirculating it back into the kitchen. However, vented (also called ducted) hoods are more effective at maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

No, a vented hood is not legally required for a gas range. However, installing a vented range hood above your gas range removes concentrated odors, fumes, and grease from your kitchen air and promotes a safer, cleaner cooking environment. This installation improves air quality and aligns with safety guidelines while ensuring that harmful particles are effectively expelled from your home.

To capture cooking emissions efficiently, you must install your range hood at a specified height above the cooktop. For electric stoves, mount the hood 24 inches above the cooktop; for gas appliances, secure it 30 inches high. This precise installation ensures optimal performance and complies with safety and building codes while maximizing the unit’s effectiveness.

Yes, you must install a range hood over an electric stove because these appliances generate smoke, heat, and airborne particles during cooking. A range hood improves air quality by drawing out combustion fumes and odors, ensuring a comfortable and safe kitchen environment. A professional installation guarantees precise positioning and compliance with local safety codes.

Smooth galvanized metal ducting is the optimal choice for range hood installations because it delivers maximum airflow and durability. This material efficiently transports heat, grease, and odors out of your kitchen while meeting local building codes. Avoid flexible or corrugated ducting, which restricts airflow and compromises safety. Consulting a range hood installation professional ensures correct duct selection and installation for superior performance.

When installed and maintained correctly, a range hood is designed to last between 10 and 20 years. Regular cleaning of its exterior, interior, and filters is essential to remove grease buildup and preserve performance. Establish a disciplined maintenance routine and engage professional cleaning services to extend the unit’s lifespan and uphold optimal safety standards.
