"Darren is the consummate professional. I found him via Angie's List and am quite pleased with not only the work he provided but the level of professionalism. We had sought out two other bids, and the lack of professionalism (from one surveyor) upon requesting a quote was appalling - they wanted to know why my husband needed to talk it over with me and even wanted to charge an exorbitant fee for filing the formal record of survey with the county. They also questioned why we needed to file a formal record since we were just building a fence. With Ford Land Surveying, all the work cost $1158.00 - this included all of Mr. Ford's work: "monumenting" the property corners with 30" rebar and surveyor ID caps; and preparing and recording a formal record of survey with the county. Mr. Ford was prompt with communication and answered my questions. He showed up early and was the consummate professional. A few days later, we received the blueprint with our survey information. We also like the fact it's a family-owned business with a history of solid experience and positive feedback. If we ever needed a surveyor again, we would hire Ford Land Surveying again - no question."

"Great experiences each time I've used this company. It's really, really hard to get good people to do quality work in Seattle, and Steve Bodine is one of those people. He employs great workers, treats them well and holds on to them for years. He personally is a genuinely decent and nice guy as well. He has years and years of experience and I would trust him with all my drainage needs (that's saying something in Seattle). Bodine also did a fantastic job with my concrete driveway and walkways. I first hired Bodine almost 3 years ago to redirect my downspouts to a new drain field in my back yard. His crew did an amazing job. I was so pleased, I hired them to do some concrete work in my basement. Again, excellent work. Based on that, I then hired them to pour a new concrete driveway and walkway. Again, an incredible job. They really care about getting it right. Bodine does virtually all of their work based on referrals... and they are busy. But if you have a problem, they will take care of it immediately and other times, you just have to be a little patient knowing they're busy taking care of someone else's problems. It works both ways. They were very patient with me when I had to change dates to have my driveway poured due to other work going on at my house. I also want to mention Jim Cuba and Manny, who worked on my most recent project and were terrific."

"I contacted several of the surveyors listed on Angie's List for my area.  All came back with bids at around $2,800 with the exception of one, who came back at $1,900.  But like most of the other surveyors I contacted, he was booked out several weeks.   I asked one of the surveyors if he knew of anyone else I could try who might be available sooner and he recommended Linda Schroeter. Linda was available the next week. Her bid originally came back at around $2,800, and I asked her if she could meet the $1,900 bid and she said yes.  <br /> They were out the next week to do the work. The complexities of our yard required them to do two days of field work. I had the drawings at the end of that week.  There was one small error on the drawings, which I pointed out to them (they had forgotten to indicate where a set of stairs wrapped around the house and indicated a slope there instead). They were out two days later and I had the new drawings a few days after that. <br /> I would highly recommend them. <br />"

"We chose to hire a landscape architect to guide us in the makeover of our front yard because we wanted to make such dramatic changes. Not only did we plan to replace the grass with a Northwest-friendly   low maintenance landscape, but we also wanted to add a parking pad, a new walkway and seating area, and to change our front entry. We knew what we wanted, but wondered if it was even possible on our steeply-graded lot. We clearly needed the services of an expert who would be able put all of the things on our wish list into a workable plan. We found Russell Design Source on Angie?s List. Emily Russell responded quickly to our initial contact and worked with our schedule to visit our property.  Emily listened well and seemed to catch our vision.  She took into consideration that the plan might ultimately have to be completed in stages. After the initial visit when she took lots of measurements and pictures, Emily drew up a detailed plan. We met twice more with her and were in contact via email throughout the process. She was easy to work with and was always quick to answer our questions and concerns. Emily produced a workable plan which included every detail-- from the placement of specific plant varieties to elevations for landscaping and hardscape surfaces. Emily even helped us find a competent contractor to do the work. The makeover of our yard is now nearly complete.  We love everything about it and are glad that we started the process with a professional like Emily Russell. <br />"

"Kim was worth every penny in helping us navigate the King County rules and paperwork associated with the critical areas ordinance. We are planning on building a single family residence on a 5 acre property which includes some areas of wetland. Kim provided an initial site visit where she roughly plotted the boundaries which she considered to be wetland. This gave us a good idea whether or not we could feasibly build a home on the property. We hired Kim again to precisely mark the boundaries and categorize the wetlands and prepare all the necessary paperwork to submit to the county for our critical areas review. Kim was always very patient and prompt in answering our many questions. I highly recommend consulting Kim if you are planning to purchase land or build a home in King or Snohomish county."
