"I recently had DHT construction redo my roof. Total cost of the project was about $41k. My roof is pretty large and also has a few low-slope sections that needed to be handled specially. The bid came in higher than the other company I contacted, but I was impressed with Curtis' attention to detail when he surveyed the house to make the plan. He went over all the parts of the roof and asked a lot of questions. He found a bunch of things up front that he knew would have to be fixed along with the roof itself. So when going into the project we had a decent idea of the cost and an understanding of the kind of extra costs that might be incurred. We also talked about the process itself and discussed where trailers could be parked, etc.. It turns out there was a severe lack of ventilation under the previous roof and a lot of warped plywood that had to be replaced, so the cost raised up to that $41k. The team was able to get the extra materials and do the unplanned work in a couple more days. The area was cleaned up well. There was just one decoration of ours that was damaged at some point, but Curtis immediately comped me the cost of it (actually more than our stated value), so they more than made it right. All in all, although the cost was more than I expected, I think the attention to detail and excellent execution and result would lead me to hire them again for other work."

The estimator Sam contacted us the next day after I left a message and came by within several days and gave us what I felt was a reasonable estimate that included several other requests including removal of a no-longer used chimney and replacing about 20 feet of facial board that was too high for me to replace safely. The crew was great. They were able to utilize the one corner of the house that didn't have plantings for their work area. They completed the job in two days and the gutters were installed on the third day. They were very careful in their clean-up. They didn't argue, instead they inspected the roof and located the leaks very quickly. They installed tarps, sprayed the black mold that had formed and used plywood to secure a waterlogged area of the ceiling. They did precisely what I had asked for and charged a reasonable amount.
