"It went very well! Lewis Services is prompt and professional. They take pride in their work and do a wonderful job! We have used other lawn companies before to mow for us and they would come when they felt like it, whether the grass needed to be mowed or not. They would not do a thorough job mowing and weed eating. We are very pleased! Thank you for your dedication and hard work! Your caring attitude is appreciated!"

"A stellar job as always! Jeff Walton responded promptly to our request for an estimate and walked around the property with my husband, pointing out issues and suggesting remedies. It being the "busy" season we were told two weeks out was expected but we received a call yesterday (one week later) asking us if we wished to take an appointment spot that had opened up. The crew arrived at the promised time this morning and got right to work. There was major trimming to be done and as my husband noted tonight that when it was done, it was done in such a way so you do not realize just how much of the tree was removed. Misshapen limbs (threatening walkway and driveway), feeder branches, dead branches; all were removed. When we were leaving for the office this morning the two gentlemen working on our "front and center" tree were having an earnest discussion as to just which limbs needed to be cut. They had already removed a number of branches and were "cleaning" up the look of the tree. It was reassuring to know that the tree that is directly in front of our house was receiving the very best of care. Every one of the trees (seven in all) look fantastic. We thought they looked nice before; we were unaware of what a good trimming would do to enhance that look. As for clean up, you would never know they had been here. We were walking through foot deep cutting debris this morning; when we returned home this evening there is not a loose twig on the ground. They were even conscientious enough to take down wind chimes and sun catchers that were on branches being cut and move them to adjacent "safe" branches (something I totally forgot needed to be done!). As our arborist told us, "Your trees are happy trees." Happy trees, even happier homeowners! Do not hesitate for one moment to contact The Care of Trees; they all (front office and field staff) are dedicated professionals who work towards protecting your "green investment.""

"We couldn't be happier with the finished product. The design and workmanship are exceptional, and the project was completed for exactly the quoted price. Several neighbors (and even people on the next block) have commented on how well it turned out. We really feel lucky to have worked with Josh on this because at one point the entire project seemed like it was in trouble. <br /> Originally we thought the project was going to require some tall retaining walls, so we paid a civil engineer to design everything. When we brought the designs to the county to get a construction permit, they gave us trouble that threatened to delay the construction by up to a year. Josh, who had originally been contracted to execute our engineer's plans, said he could rework the design on his own to avoid the need for a county permit (by making all retaining walls less than 2 ft tall). We were pretty stuck at that point, but Josh's drawings made sense, so we went with it. <br /> In the end, what he built was so much better than what the engineer had designed that our only regret was that we didn't have Josh design it from the start. He turned a straight staircase into an elegant, curved stairway. He lowered the height of each step from 8 in. to 6 in. for better comfort and safety. He re-graded the front lawn slightly so that the walking path could be flatter and safer. Throughout the process, he worked with our preferences but also helped us consider aspects we hadn't thought of. And most importantly, he stuck to his quoted price despite all the design changes. <br />"

"They are pros with all the right equipment. We rely on them to remove our leaves at least three times a season and because of their lawn care program, our grass has never looked better!"

"This wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. I had to call them too many times to schedule it and they didn’t come when they said they would come. There were extra fees that I wasn’t aware of. It wasn’t the greatest. When I called they said they’ll get back to me and I let them know the time I wanted it done. If they call me on Monday or Tuesday and I said when can you come out, can you come out Wednesday or Thursday maybe they came Friday. I stayed around the house thinking they were going to call or thinking they were going to come back at a certain time. It’s just wasn’t timely. I remembered them saying they’ll be back the next day and I press them for time a time because they weren’t sure of other jobs they would do. And I said ok give me some idea and they didn’t call me back the next day, they showed up the following day. I just came home and saw that they were here. It took them two visits to do what I wanted them to do. When they got here and I explained what I wanted to have done, we talk on the phone about it they said they had to see it and when they got out here they tell me the price I paid was hardly anything. The whole reason they were to come out was to cut down this bush in front and clean up the yard and they did not have the bush included at all. When he looked at the bush he said the bush was deal and I said yea I know, I’d like for you to remove it. The yard is a very small yard. It’s a town yard in an inner unit with somebody either side of me and there is a side walk in my yard. So I didn’t have much to start with. The key to it is the communication, taking and their availability. It’s ok if you tell me I can’t come today and you’ll be here tomorrow between such and such time. Don’t keep me hanging. I was disappointed because we were emailing back and forth for date and time. They should be more transparent about what they can and cannot do and the price."

"I never saw the crew do its work, even though I was home during at least one visit. But I saw the tracks of their applicator in my grass, so I know they had been there. I would get an email after the visit, telling me that the treatment had been provided. Unfortunately, my yard is in as bad a shape as it was before the treatments. I expected fewer weeds, but it may be that my yard was too far gone for The Aeration Corps' work to have made a difference. I believe they did what The Big Deal called for, but, in my case, my yard did not show a marked improvement. I suspect that it can't be laid at the feet of this business. I suspect that I need more attention than I bought in The Big Deal, probably a more personalized/customized and sustained program of fertilization and weed control to make a visible difference in my yard."

"The turf manager, Bill, is knowledgable, attentive, and responsive. He comes out personally to analyze the soil, listen to our objectives, and discuss options to reach a mutual understanding of the program to implement. When we moved to this property several years ago, there was no grass, just weeds, on almost an acre. At the same time, we got the property certified as a wildlife sanctuary, which means we are trying to minimize chemical treatments. Bill put together a solution that took care of the weeds and restored our front lawn within one season and advised us how to convert the back yard to a woodland garden that blends naturally and asthetically with the surrounding woods. In the succeeding seasons, he has helped us significantly cut down on the fertiziler, herbicide and pesticide treatments while nurishing the front lawn with more organic treatments to maintain our curb appeal. At the same time, our monthly cost decreased. We've used their landscape service once, and the designer was equally attentive and responsive to our goal of a more naturalized yet still sophisticated and tidy look. In summary, State of the Art is easy to get ahold of, works to meet our requirements, and offers a reasonable price; they don't try to just sell you stuff you don't need or want. <br />"
