"<p>This is the 2nd time I've used Home Sweet Home.  I bought a two room deal for painting; we have very high ceilings and lots of wood trim, and we expected to pay a little more than the $375 for that, which is totally fair.</p> <p>They did a great job.  We estimated it would take 2-3 days, and instead it took 1.  They purchased our paint for us through Sherwin Williams, even though the color was from Benjamin Moore.  They passed along their significant savings on the paint to us, and we got it at their cost at no upcharge.</p> <p>We also had a small project from another contractor that needed cleaning up.  Former contractor laid a fence chainwall (concrete), but did not bother to clean up the concrete overspill into our neighbor's yard, which really disappointed me.  The extra concrete made it hard for them to cut their yard (we were so embarrassed).  Home Sweet Home took care of that clean up, no problem.</p> <p>I highly recommend Home Sweet Home and won't hesitate to use them again.</p>"

"I worked with David to have one bedroom painted and the process couldn't have been easier or more satisfactory. It was such a small job, I assumed a professional paint contractor would be my most expensive option, but in fact David quoted me the most reasonable rate. The end result is beautiful. I will definitely work with him and his team again in the future!"

"We took on remodeling both of our upstairs bathrooms at the same time; an adventurous task to say the least. From the onset of the projects, the organization, communication and professionalism MLM managed the effort with was outstanding. Their staff was accessible, friendly and knowledgeable and were a pleasure to have in our home. During the planning and design phase, the conversations were open-ended. This allowed my wife and I to incorporate our vision along with options we hadn't considered that Machi and his staff brought to the table. At the commencement of construction we were assigned Craig as our dedicated project manager. Craig was accessible, friendly and on top of every detail with the work and upcoming scheduling. Each worker involved in the project carried the same level of professionalism and attention to detail and represented MLM seamlessly. Quite often contractors lead you to feeling as though they are doing you a favor handling your projects. This was not the case with Machi and his MLM staff. At every point we felt like they respected us trusting them with our home and that our satisfaction was all that mattered. From Anna and Monique in the office to Craig managing the project, the responsiveness to our calls and questions was impeccable. The workers throughout the project were also punctual and meticulous in their work and were respectful of being in your home. Each of these two bathroom remodels presented separate challenges and each was completed beyond our expectations. We absolutely love our new bathrooms and we will definitely look to MLM for future remodel projects."

"I'm extremely happy with the work Elbert's team did and with all my interactions with Elbert himself. The team does good work at a good pace, and Elbert himself was always willing to talk about any difficulties and propose solutions for me to choose from. I would absolutely recommend him and he would be my first choice for carrying out any future improvements or repairs to my home. <br /> AHC was not the cheapest bid I recieved, but it was fair, believable, and fixed-price. The only change orders we had to do were one for removing the wall (since the work couldn't be estimated initially without bringing in a structural engineer) and another later on when I decided to ask Elbert to have his team put bamboo flooring on the staircase they built. Both were within my expected ranges. <br />"

"Excellent ! Very professional and a great job. Left property ready to rent. He always provides an itemized and accurate description of what work was done, and always reasonable prices. I have depended on Steve Jones for many years and he has never disappointed and always ready to fit in an emergency situation to help. I have only had compliments from the tenants he has helped and from the neighbors. Will continue to depend on him."

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Braithwaite, LA

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
