They were there for issues I had been having when it rained, and on this particular morning, I hadn’t seen it was raining – but I heard! I thought someone was breaking in, but it was the **** roof again!! Raining in my living room – not good! I was crying as much as it was dripping! I was getting more and more frustrated, had many people coming to help and give me prices, but as the old saying goes: “Action speaks louder than words”, and they just never really followed through or showed up. I was desperate. It just so happened, by some random stroke of luck, I had scheduled an appointment that very morning with Joe White, salesman for Buffalo’s Best. I was simply curious about them. Joe came in to see exactly what and where my issue was and knew it needed to be fixed sooner than later. Everyone told me to get more estimates on the job, but I felt Joe’s price was fair for what I needed and the reviews I read were encouraging. Joe gave me hope and I trusted him, and so I said “Let’s please just Git-R-Done” …. On Monday, October 27th, an amazing ‘team’ showed up, under the supervision of Domenic D’Angelo, and worked diligently from 8 AM to 5:30 PM. I needed a complete roof tear off and reinstallation. I was certain there was no way it could be done so quickly, but it was almost like magic! By dinner time, I had a beautiful new roof, everything was cleaned up and put back nicely, and to anyone who wasn’t around on my street that day – they would never have known so much activity had taken place here. I was and still am in awe! The peace of mind alone is priceless. I cannot put a price tag on the feeling of security, after decades upon decades, that my roof is intact and leaks are a thing of the past, at least for the duration of my lifetime. I have a warranty transferable when I sell my house, and the assurance that if there are any problems whatsoever, Buffalo’s Best Roofing will come to my aid and assistance immediately. It’s not like doing business with a business, it’s like making a new friend who I can trust and build a lasting relationship with. It all started with a new roof! "I signed up with Angie's List just to leave this review for Mike and his crew. If anyone is reading this its because you, like myself, want to make sure you find that right company to handle your project. Im a handy man myself and due to recent issues I could not complete my project myself. I needed to find a company that perform the way I would if I myself were to do the job. Lots of contractors out there hire the cheapest labor money can buy and in return the homeowner suffers. Had about 9 people come out to give estimates and if someone had no idea about roofing estimates, these guys were out for blood. All sales pitches and over pricing and couldn't start the job for weeks if not months later. Mike sat with me and went over all the details, was extremely fair with pricing, not over priced but spot-on to market value. Cleared his schedule and took my job the following week. He uses ones of the best material systems out there for roofing. His crew has been with him for many years if not decades, professional, well-mannered, friendly and last but least, clean. I did not have to pick up anything. They cleaned, swept and hauled away everything. Put everything back exactly how I had it, if they were not sure, they asked me. The wife did not have to worry about any of her plants or ornaments being damaged. They had the job done in 2 days and the dogs out playing in the yard middle of day 2. House looks amazing, proof is in the details. Everything done to spec and then some. Thank you. Hope this eases your concerns as you look through different contractors out there. "The crew was punctual and professional and did a good job of protecting our interior from damage from the hoses and traffic in and out. The big problem I had was the fact that insufficient foam was applied on the first go-round. The specs called for an average of 7and quot; of foam on the roof and after they left I measured it as 4-6and quot; in most places and 7and quot; or more only where a roof joist was covered. The average was far less than the specified 7and quot;. The walls were supposed to average 5and quot; and I measured 3-4and quot;. When I brought the discrepancy to their attention they were very responsive and, although it took a while to get them back out to complete the job, the end result was very satisfactory. I think the foam is a great solution to a tough attic problem and I would definitely use these folks again, although with close monitoring of the job.
12/13 Update: Now that we have had a few snowfalls this winter I can share that I am really impressed with the spray-on insulation. We only needed new insulation in one troublesome portion of our attic. The remainder has very adequate fiberglass insulation and plenty of ventilation. After a few snow and thaw cycles, it is obvious that the spray insulation does a far better job. The snow on the sprayed portion of the roof is thicker right after the snowfall and stays far longer than on the rest of the roof, indicating far less heat transfer from inside the house. Also, the attic is toasty warm. Although a bit pricy, this is a really good product.
