"I called to inquire about a rattle in the garbage disposal and a slow drain in the sink. $50 to get him to flip on the switch and listen. He said the disposal is shot and would need to be replaced. A 1/3 horsepower was needed because anything stronger would not be ideal. They don't carry any 1/3 HP disposals. So after a quote for $500+ for GD replacement and $200+ for rodding the drain, the estimate all totaled was near $800! Paid the fifty bucks for the house call but declined to pony up the rest.
