"Clean Cut Painting and Handyman in Decatur completed several projects for us and I could not be more pleased. They refinished our deck, replaced a bathroom exhaust fan and living room ceiling fan. They also patched drywall and painted the walls and ceiling in our garage. The quality of work was excellent and the work was completed in a timely manner for all of these jobs. I highly recommend Clean Cut in Decatur for almost any home improvement or repair job you may need."

"We had Masterpiece Painting do some interior painting. John and Mike did a great job painting the walls in our living room, kitchen and 2 hallways. It wasn't an easy task. We have high ceilings and the 1 hall was tight to work in. John cleaned all the woodwork after painting as well as cleaning all the switch plates before putting them back on the walls. We would definitely use Masterpiece Painting again and recommend them for quality work. It was a 2 day job because of the area involved and it needed 2 coats of paint to cover the existing color on walls. They were running late the second day and did call to let us know. <br /> <br />"

"Jeremy is friendly and responsive. He was willing to meet me on a Sunday to gather information for the free estimate. His prices were very reasonable and he performed the job in a very workmanlike way. It took several trips to get the plaster, washing, and painting done, but the house is now sparkling! We had a bit of trouble with the rains, but he made it happen as fast as could be expected. Jeremy was very responsive when I asked about certain areas of concern and even offered to return and touch up the job if necessary after I install a new vent in the attic. Overall a wonderful experience from a good guy. <br />"

"As senior citizens, it’s hard to get things done that in years past we were capable of doing ourselves. Climbing ladders to hammer Loose facia, fixing a window that was cracked, fixing a screen in a storm door thats on s roller(used to just pop the screen in and out). Little things mean a lot to keep your home updated and looking good. Curb appeal makes a difference. That being said we want to give a big five star rating to Sutton’s for being there to get all this things done for us. We are so happy with the job they did. Everything looks great. Love our new screen door, is so nice to not have duct tape holding the screen together. We can’t thank you enough. Great service from a great company. Shout out to Adam and all the other workers, job well done."

"I got a referral for him from a neighbor to put up a ceiling texture in my hallway.  I knew it was a "small job" and many places put you off or just don't want to do it.  When I called him, he was very nice on the phone and offered to come out the same day or the next day (whatever was best for me).  I was instantly impressed with his sense of urgency.  He did come out later the same day and gave me a very reasonable estimate.  I immediately scheduled it!  He came back with an employee two days later and did a beautiful job!  He was clean (didn't make any mess in my house) and wanted to make sure I was pleased with the job he did.  He was very accommodating and said he is happy to work in the small jobs whenever he can.  I would highly recommend him!"

"Tony came recommended by my neighbor. I saw his work and I was impressed, clean lines, creative ideas, no mess left behind, great rates, and best of all patient. I have my house on the market and I needed his expertise to pain my foyer which included 2 floors, up the stairs, and the wall going down the stairs to the basement. I was surprised by his quote since it would be a tricky job due to the height and stairs. He accomplished it in 2 days as he promised. He did it himself, as he said. I work from home and he was super respectful and quiet as he worked diligently. He even made an executive decision on one part of the job which I completely agreed to. He is a true professional. I learned Tony also does dry-wall, exterior painting, and other handyman work. He is a bit of jack of all trades."

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Chatham, IL

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
