Hey, I'm Lance! I became a professional online portrait artist in 2006 after my family was taken from me in a tornado losing my mother, father, brother, and son. Twenty-eight lives were taken as well as all their possessions, like mine. I drew from destroyed photos their families so they could have memorial portraits of them at the funerals and for the rest of time. Since then I have made a living traveling the country doing shows and drawing from photos you email me on line. There is NO GIFT more unique that brings more tears of joy to a loved one's eyes like one of these. Nothing. I've seen it time and time again. I make it affordable to anyone who's ever wanted one of these. Paintings with half the detail of these can cost upwards of $30,000 limiting something like this from hanging in living rooms for families to the rich only. Not anymore. Here's how it works..\n Simply email me your favorite picture or pictures to aarontristan39@gmail.com with a brief description of what you would like done. The bigger and clearer the picture the better the drawing. I will start an initial sketch right away and take pictures of it and show it to you. Please email them quickly if possible, because the holidays are coming and I get busy. Once the initial sketch is done. I usually take something down on it. It's a lot of work doing the initial sketch. This varies on the cost of the drawing which we will discuss right away.\n Drawings are usually 175 for 9x12's\n 225 for 11x14's\n 275 for 14x17's\n After this process is done I continue with your art piece sending you photos on line all the way through which many people find a lot of fun. I am also friends on Facebook with almost every person I've ever drawn for as well and would like to be your friend as well if you would like that. I post them on FB at your discretion. It makes me way more legit to people as well. \n The Prices vary with the art because of the size of the drawing as well as the number of faces. The number of faces DOES NOT double the cost. Usually an extra face is added depending on the size from anywhere between 25 and 50, but I do deals on these more than anything, so please call me about it at .(850) 691-3976

"They did a great job and went above and beyond. The landscape bricks were completed quickly and looks great. They are completing the grass patching that I have been fighting for years. I have recommended them to family members."

"In my opinion stay far away from carol and the places on Chrysler drive. The rulebook is 67 pages long and she does not even follow her own rulebook. Carol is VERY rude. We were harassed by Carol on many occasions. She let a tenant who lives there, who has a restraining order on them from another neighbor in the same area harass us over and over. We had a dashcam and they complained we were recording them but they had a home camera so they were recording us too. This person pounded on my car, called the cops for us having a dashcam which even the cop said is legal, we had all the proof we did nothing wrong and carol didn't want to hear our side cause this person is friends with her son, she thinks having a dashcam is being paranoid when multiple people have cameras on their house. We were yelled at one time and threatened to be kicked out for having our garbage cans out, during the winter when the garages are so small you can't fit a car and garbage can in there. We broke this rule once and fixed it within not even 24 hours, we did not even know that was a rule because others around us always left their cans out but were harassed multiple times after that but multiple people in the HOA broke that rule and many others daily and nothing was ever done to them. I talked to others there and they were never fined, it's because Carol does not like positive results and is after anyone who moves in there. Our central air went out and we had an air conditioner and we were screamed at for that as well, like what are we supposed to do, die of heat stroke? Lol!!! There was a massive pothole that was not fixed for over a year. Carol from the HOA, Jamie and Audrey from positive results are one of the worst people to run a business! The only good thing about this place is they have an awesome maintenance guy!"

FAQs for holiday lighting add or remove projects in Cortland, IL

If climbing ladders or handling wiring isn’t in your comfort zone, hire a pro. Look for installers who post clear per-foot or hourly rates, carry insurance, and have solid reviews. Comparing at least three quotes helps you spot fair pricing without sacrificing safety. Skipping credentials to save a few dollars can cost you far more in repairs, so pick a qualified team and enjoy a safe, eye-catching display.

Yes, booking between February and September often scores lower rates because demand is light and pros have open calendars. You might even negotiate a discount package that includes removal or storage. If the budget is tight, ask whether a handyperson or an off-season permanent-light install makes sense for your home and timeline.

Determining the number of holiday lights for your house depends on your home’s size and specific decorative vision. Your project requires 10 to 20 light strands for a basic exterior display, with 100 lights allocated for eaves and an additional 10 to 20 bulbs for each awning.

For trees and substantial shrubs, allocate five to 10 strands per unit to achieve complete and balanced illumination across your property.

Tipping isn’t mandatory, but it’s a nice way to thank your installer for a job well done. Most homeowners offer 10% to 20% of the total bill or round up to an even figure if the crew exceeds expectations. A small extra goes a long way toward showing appreciation—and may help you snag priority booking next season.

Yes, you can install holiday lights yourself if your property layout is straightforward and your electrical system is secure. Homeowners who are confident in their ability to safely handle wiring and use proper equipment can save money with a DIY approach.

However, it is crucial to test all outlets thoroughly and secure the proper ladders and safety gear before starting. Careful planning and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to protect yourself and your home while achieving an attractive display.

Start by clearing the area of loose debris, damaged shingles, and anything that could trip you up. Test outdoor outlets and, if you’re unsure, bring in an electrician. Use a sturdy extension ladder (or scaffolding for very high spots) and never work alone—having a helper steady the ladder is non-negotiable. Taking these simple steps keeps you, your roof, and your new lights safe.
